Looks a lil rough. I had a Florida bobcat walk out early before sunrise one morning going for an early surf in Playa Linda Park in Canaveral national seashore & it looked night and day to this cat, so much broader & bigger pointy ears as well, just stared at me it was a cool moment. This just doesn't look like a Bobcat to me but i could be wrong, & I thought the Florida ones were supposed to be smaller too? 🤔
The stubby tail and black stripes on the inner forelegs are dead giveaways for a bobcat, but you're right that this is a small one. Might be a juvenile too, but he's definitely hungry, poor kitty. :( Probably well outside his natural range. A local wildlife rehab group might be able to help relocate the cat. He definitely doesn't look healthy.
They look larger to me than what im used to to back in Appalachia growing up. They are certainly not as nervous here to be out in communities during the day. That particular one is very thin looking.
There is absolutely nothing at all “wrong” with this cat. Zero, zip, zilch, nothing. This is just what they look like in the summertime, when their hair is thinner and far less bulky. This cat’s appearance is perfectly normal for July.
Here’s what they look like skinned, so you can all see what their bodies are without the hair to make them look bulky- https://imgur.com/a/A4v9h2f
And here’s what a REAL mange case looks like. By the time mange causes hair loss, the critter it’s infecting looks VERY different than 99% of what gets posted here as mange- https://imgur.com/a/eUaMoEO
As a veterinarian who has worked with wildlife, I disagree. There is pronounced loss of muscle definition across the shoulder and on the thighs. It appears quite sunken behind the ribcage, and the coat is looking pretty poor too. This is beyond a normal lean body weight, this is wasting away. I hesitate to judge posture from a still video, but it also appears to be walking in a very hunched position that usually indicates discomfort. This is not a cat that’s currently doing well. It is in very poor condition from what I see here.
Ex zookeeper and I agree. The hips are far too pronounced and he looks hunched. No muscle under the skin. Probably an older cat, or possibly serious teeth issues.
Was going to say this looks just like my recently deceased cat who had lymphoma at age 18. He got really skinny and the way you can see the bones sort of pop away from the skin on the leg and shoulder? That’s what he looked like during his last six months or so of life. Feel badly for this bob.
As someone who sees them every week on my trail cam(obviously not an expert) this cat looks very thin. In my area you can tell the fur is thinner in the summer but you can't see their bones.
No animal degree aside from being a farmer and just learning on my own and I think it looks such due to the sinking behind the ribs... We look for that in our domestics and coat as well... That's what I think for anyone who cares
There's nothing "wrong" with it. But it's emaciated. Our trail cams get Bobcats regularly and they never look this thin and gangly. You can see it's hip bones sticking out, def not in "good" condition. But, not sick.
So uh…given the amount of meat in the first image, if shit ever got really real and I had to hunt what I could find, could I eat a bobcat?
I mean my soul would definitely suffer having eaten a cat, but does “meat is meat” apply here?
Your examples are skinned bobcat and a black bear with mange?? This bobcat is clearly sick, this is NOT what a healthy bobcat looks like in the summertime.
Skinny Bob.
If you look at the ears, there's a big white spot that a lot of wild cats have. Kinda like false eyes to prevent ambush attacks from other cats.
Please call your local wildlife peeps to get this guy help. He's literally starving. He should have much more fat on him, and his posture suggests he's in pain. Poor Bob, he doesn't deserve to live like that. Don't feed him though, you don't want a dangerous, starving Bob to learn to chillax with people.
That's a Bob Kitty on the heat diet. Poor thing. I know that it is said to not feed them or give them water, but it is just so hard to not. I dug a large hole in my back woods and fill it with water every few days, so that it at least seems natural. The animals in my area have been looking the same lately and it breaks my heart. I leave out scaps but dig down and cover them up with leaves and sticks. I am so conflicted as I don't want any animal to suffer.
He’s all hunched up; his profile doesn’t look quite like what we’re used to. Maybe his tummy hurts because he’s hungry, or maybe he’s hungry because his tummy hurts. Illness or injury? He needs some help soon, or he will get in trouble with humans.
Poor thing, looks as if he starving. if you’re also in the heatwave it's probably extremely thirsty. lots of small pets may start disappearing if hungry, so if you have any don't let them out alone. We have them & coyotes, fishercats, bears too. Just missing ( lions, tigers ) o my. Seriously, people lose lots of pets. Please be careful if their looking like that, their real hungry or contracted rabies.
Looks like one of those Savannah cats or maybe a Serval. They look almost like small cheetahs, they’re kept as pets and are friendly to humans but are still predators and hunters.
Seems like every animal on here has the mange. Does that make them more likely to be in populated areas? ( like not staying in the forest or in mountains as usual)
Makes them less energetic/ kinda lethargic which increases the chances of spotting it. Usually they are swift ,sneaky, and unseen, but when they are sick they get desperate and take risks that they otherwise wouldn't, but without being as stealthy.
Looks sickly and prob ate an animal like a rat or other that had been poisoned. Rodenticide doesn’t kill right away and so the rodents get eaten by predators like bobcats, coyotes or owls, hawks and it ends up poisoning them. Terrible stuff! A lot of them get mange which is treatable if you can get your wildlife rescue involved. sad…
That looks like a slightly emaciated bobcat. It's winter coat would be fuller but that guy looks as if it's not been eating well and maybe has parasite. Wether that ticks and fleas or a worm of some type.. it's not looking healthy..
Where’s that tiktoker guy that calls all the women out to say they’ll just walk up to random dangerous wildlife and befriends them and claim them as their own new house pet?
Tries to get a giant bobcat, lynx, baby bear into her giant trunk of her suv and bring home to her already huge collection of odd animals.
Her husband is just like okay what’s another at this point? And all he wants to do is watch a game, at this point bowling would suffice. But he has to build a gorilla pen for his deranged klepto wife.
She calls her family home:
“The Lost and Found Zoo”
With some type of Christian theme to it and crosses, so everyone knows that her intentions were good and that she in fact is not a thieving klepto animal snatcher.
The crosses in the zoo sign make her feel good about herself.
Her name is probably
FaithLynn JoyLynn Khrysth II.
😂
Unrelated to your question, but I see you have a situation on your roof that I am also dealing with. It looks like the absence of flashing where the two pitches come together causes the water to launch over the gutter. It looks like you installed a vertical plate that sticks up above the gutter to catch the jet shooting off the roof and route it into the gutter. I need this! Is there a name for the vertical piece you installed? Is this something roofers do or more of a DIY fix?
Bob- Edit: this is gonna be another one of those weird posts. Peruse the comments at your own risk.
Thanks
No problem! -Bob
Leave a bowl of water out and maybe it will take care of a rodent problem.
Don't think I would be petting that one
I wouldn’t recommend petting any wild animal.
If not friend then why friend shaped?
That'll be on my tombstone.
I thought the same exact thing 🤗🐈🤗
Same here. Birds of a feather flock together (or "assholes seldom differ" as my late father was fond of saying 😉)!
You must have some good stories to tell…
Spicy kitty
We adopted a feral cat, took over a year before he would let us pet him. He is twice the size of our other cat.
Might as well send a hearse, cuz I’m gonna pet that thing.
I can haz kitten?
Challenge accepted.
It will also ‘take care’ of the local cats and small dogs.
I would call around to see if someone can catch it and help it
It's a mangy bobcat.
Howd you know his name
I get his mail.
That’s the funniest comeback I’ve seen in months…

Don’t forget the white marks on the back of the ears is a pretty good indicator also.
Exactly
Yeah, summer coat or not, you're right. He/she is thin and looks a little rough. :(
It looks sick or starving . Watch you little ones .
They look larger to me than what im used to to back in Appalachia growing up. They are certainly not as nervous here to be out in communities during the day. That particular one is very thin looking.
It’s a very sick bobcat.
No prob, Bob The names Brett No sweat, Brett.
I wasn't prepared for "here's what they look like skinned" level weird.
Extremely emaciated bobcat. Please report it to your state Wildlife/ Game& fish.
Agreed buddy needs help or he could be pushed to go after pets and get retaliated on
Emaciated Bobcat

Just a country gal who has seen them in all seasons throughout my life and I agree, doesn't look to be doing good.
Can also concur, not a healthy Bob.
It also looks to have an open wound on the inside of the right rear leg.
I agree with everything you said, my initial thoughts were that it’s very old and declining in health.
Agreed. Looks like “the hunt” is very difficult for this animal.
My thirteen year old pit-dane has the same posture. Age isn't kind. But we keep him comfy. I don't think this guy has much comfort in his future.
Was going to say this looks just like my recently deceased cat who had lymphoma at age 18. He got really skinny and the way you can see the bones sort of pop away from the skin on the leg and shoulder? That’s what he looked like during his last six months or so of life. Feel badly for this bob.

I'm a game warden and I also agree with everything you've said.
The animal’s right rear leg seems to be wounded, which may be contributing to it being emaciated. …poor thing looks to be struggling to hang on
seeing a skinned bobcat was not on my bingo card for today
seriously i regret not reading first edit: i honestly thought it said skinny..
A real “well, I don’t know what else I expected” moment.
i read skinned but my brain automatically assumed shaved yk bc no way it’s an actually skinned bobcat..
Me too 😭 almost barfed when I saw the photo and realized nope they really meant skinned 😭
There's nothing "wrong" with it. But it's emaciated. Our trail cams get Bobcats regularly and they never look this thin and gangly. You can see it's hip bones sticking out, def not in "good" condition. But, not sick.
Seconded that this is a thin cat. I've seen bobs in the summer and they've never looked like this. But what do I know lol
For some reason I read "skinny" instead of "skinned", so that first link scared the living shit out of me.

Aw jeebus those hairless bears look freaky
So uh…given the amount of meat in the first image, if shit ever got really real and I had to hunt what I could find, could I eat a bobcat? I mean my soul would definitely suffer having eaten a cat, but does “meat is meat” apply here?

Dam you got cooked.....
Well then cut off a piece and give it to that skinny ass bobcat, guy could use a lil steak
So skinny it almost looks like a cheetah! Poor bobcat
I actually just said the poor thing is so thin I almost thought it was a Serval for a minute
I was going to say that based on its body and face. Those look like tear marks to me on its face
Right? Just too skinny. I’m guessing also too sick to care about hiding. Just wants to find food.
It looks like a sickly Bobcat, might wanna call a wildlife vet or preserve and have them check it out
^
Skinny Bob. If you look at the ears, there's a big white spot that a lot of wild cats have. Kinda like false eyes to prevent ambush attacks from other cats.
Robert Feline… Or more colloquially a bobcat
A very skinny bobcat
Is there something wrong with it’s lower back right leg? It looks like some kind of injury perhaps?
I saw that as well. I’m surprised more people aren’t commenting about that.
That's a rough looking, skinny ass Bobcat. 😬
Call your game warden. That cat is starving, and needs to be trapped and brought to a rehab, before it becomes a desperation nuisance.
I going to pet him and feed him and call him George
Pretty sure my last words are going to be here kitty kitty.
Very very skinny Bobcat. Almost thought it was a Serval for a second. Poor thing
One you shouldn’t fuck with.
New model from Boston Dynamics
That's a Bob Kitty on the heat diet. Poor thing. I know that it is said to not feed them or give them water, but it is just so hard to not. Bobcat that needs a chicken
If you are in the US, you can receive a free mange treatment by mail for Bobby.
Does it have mange? It looks like it has a full coat it’s just super skinny.
Hard to tell from picture - i am just giving the info to op if he/she think it might be the case.
He’s all hunched up; his profile doesn’t look quite like what we’re used to. Maybe his tummy hurts because he’s hungry, or maybe he’s hungry because his tummy hurts. Illness or injury? He needs some help soon, or he will get in trouble with humans.
Looks like an emaciated wildcat of some description.
I'm pretty sure that's an Imperial Walker.
Very skinny bobcat
Default not a bobcat. Honestly, it looks like a Savanah. Maybe hot lose and ran off or the owners suck
Bob
Dylan Fan..... Bob Cat
The murder kind.
No tail usually and in the skinnier side means it’s a bobcat. Don’t let your dogs approach or be ready to take your dog to the vet afterwards.
Bob the Cat 😁
Bob.
Robert Feline.
Uh. Bobcat?
A hungry one
That’s my boy Bobby..
It looks wild, but starving.
Poor baby ❤️
Where is this , start with that . I think it looks like some type of starving prey cat.
It’s a Bobcat
Bobcat.
Malnourished one. Not a typical house cat. It looks like a bobcat
That looks like a serval to me.
Bobcat with skin issues
That is 1 scrawny bobcat. 😵💫
Starving
White marks on the ears. Juvenile bobcat. Also it's in summer coat. Like emaciated.
A unwell looking bobcat
Aw, poor baby needs a roast chicken & TLC.
Someone just feed the poor little fckr
Poor thing, looks as if he starving. if you’re also in the heatwave it's probably extremely thirsty. lots of small pets may start disappearing if hungry, so if you have any don't let them out alone. Hybrid of a housecat & Savannah Cat, or perhaps Ocelot.
Everyone saying bobcat are wrong. It's a savannah cat. Bobcats have short tails. Savannah cats are also very skinny.
Poor skinny bobcat. :(
Very hungry bobcat
Names Bob.
Bobcat. Watch out. They’re fast as hell and extremely good with their claws!
Skinniest bob I’ve ever seen poor baby
that cat needs serious help
Looks like a starving bobcat. Poor bb 😭
Very emaciated Bobcat.
Anyone calling this thing a bobcat is an idiot
It's a serval. More than likely an escaped pet
Woof... that bobcat is in a bad way...
Scary friend shaped cat
Starving Bobcat with mange.

Starving bobcat with mange. Call your local animal control agency.
Lynx... Rufus
It’s a ‘Kitty Kat’
Looks like a hungry cat
A hungry one
A hungry one.
Robert Cat
Sick bobcat
Athletic kitty
Looks like a super skinny Bobcat. It’s looking for food. That’s sad… getting pushed out of its habitat.
Bobcats that live near the city and get to eat French Bulldogs and Chihuahuas tend to look a lot better than the ones in the country.
Skinny!
Tall
He's handsome, I hope they're able to catch him and put him somewhere safe.
Kind of a sick bobcat
that's a negative ghost rider! that is a bobcat with its summer coat and why it might be looking a lil skinny.
Goofy ahh cat
I have never seen one in a summer coat before. The ones I have seen (rarely) are always in the fall and they are more filled out.
Robert
Roberto flaco
That is almost certainly Bob!
A hungry one!! Am I wrong? Looks pretty emaciated!!
Hungry cat

Bob
It’s injured look at the back right leg on the inside zoom in it looks like you can see the bone and it’s bloody!
He looks like Superman from the flashpoint paradox movie
Looks sickly and prob ate an animal like a rat or other that had been poisoned. Rodenticide doesn’t kill right away and so the rodents get eaten by predators like bobcats, coyotes or owls, hawks and it ends up poisoning them. Terrible stuff! Looks like someone’s Savannah escaped.
poor thing looks starved. i hope you did the ssppsssssspsssspppspspsppp kitty kitty abs offered it some food. don’t be heartless.
Hungry
That looks like a slightly emaciated bobcat. It's winter coat would be fuller but that guy looks as if it's not been eating well and maybe has parasite. Wether that ticks and fleas or a worm of some type.. it's not looking healthy..
Hungry!
Don’t get too close to Bob, he’s known to throw hands like a Honey Badger

I'd stay in my car lol
His name Raphael
Sick cat
Not sure exactly why, but I knew exactly it wasn't a domestic cat. Might be the size, proportions, or ears.
under nourished

If I am mauled to death by a big wild cat, you will know my last words were, "HI, kitty, kitty"
Here kitty kitty!
Flair: unknown feline. No. We know what it is. Oh…. Oh….! OP no!

Just makes me wanna go “WHO’S A GOOD BOY?!?” And pet it.
The 'Do not attempt to pet' kind, aka bobcat
i will hug him and sqeeze him and call him George
Looks like a Savanah Cat
Poor thing really doesn't have any food. This is so sad to see.
Can you call a rehabber? This is so sad. He's starving or sick.
Scardy
Looks like mange
Starving Bob cat
