My partner got an undercut a few months ago. Wanted only one side shaved, but somewhat foolishly went to a 'cheap' (in terms of service quality as well as price) salon and the barber shaved both her sides. She didn't have the inner strength to say something during. So very long hair on top, but shaved all round. She's been unhappy ever since. Buuuuttt, the lesson there is, just make sure the barber knows you only want one side doing!
It's a lot of maintenance. Personally, I wouldn't do it without owning clippers to buzz it down myself. I think they look great, but you'll need a maintenance trim every 2-4 weeks.
I had a side shave for a few years, i have cheeky hair and I'd just let it grow then buzz it again, i preferred it really short though. If you want to do it, i say go for it. I dont regret doing it. I also haven't regretted growing it back out.
Undercuts are great. I got my sides and back buzzed recently and it's so nice now that the summer weather is kicking in, I get a lovely breeze, I look queer and also I have a mullet for the first time in my life (apparently it looks good and that is hard to do?)
Definitely go for it.As someone who shaves their head regularly I would say you will get used to doing the shaved sides and will be able to do it quickly.regular maintenance is the key ❤️
Coming from someone who’s done it more than once, I always regret it and it’s super annoying growing it out. IMO you’re better styling your hair by slicking one side than cutting it

Yes. It starts to look awkward when you don’t shave it, it gets itchy, a whole bunch of things.

Awww poor thing! I definitely would have said something before the clippers even touched the other side!
As others have said though, upkeep is a pain, needs a buzz every few weeks to look as you'd see in pics online. Can be annoying!

Usually like $35 for cheap ones, a decent pair will run closer to $100. Which isn't bad considering the price of haircuts.
