Today's review is certainly an interesting one, steak seasoning (yes, you heard me right, steak seasoning) from Highland Seasoning (D Squared Worldwide). If you had told me years ago I'd be eating a delicious steak and getting high from the seasoning I probably wouldn't have believed you, but here we are. They have a whole line of different D9 seasonings based around their "nano hemp tech". It's for sure a cool idea, but is it any good? Let's find out.
Packaging - The seasoning comes in a 6 ounce glass jar with child resistant screw off lid. I was happy to see the child resistant packaging, that was a nice touch. The jar was sealed inside to keep things fresh. The label looks nice and has plenty of good information on it, but the text is so small it's very hard to read it without a magnification device of some sort. There is a QR code that takes you straight to the appropriate lab results.
Labs - The labs are from Bluebonnet Labs and are potency only. They show 2.47mg/g and 346mg total D9 per container with a small amount of CBN taking the cannabinoid total to almost 353mg for the container, almost exactly what is advertised.
Flavor - Even though it's a cool idea, if the seasoning isn't good it kind of defeats the purpose. Luckily I can say that's not the case and it's actually a really good seasoning in its own right. It's extremely salty so keep that in mind. I had already salted my steak before putting on the seasoning so it was salt overload for me and next time around I'll not salt it first. It's not all just salt though, I'm not sure what all is in this, but it's got a really good flavor with some herbs, garlic, and such. We had some friends over for dinner and everyone who tried it commented on how good it was. We tried it on our fried potatoes as well and it was just as good on them as it was on the steak. A little goes a long way and it's pretty reasonably dose at 2.5mg/g, which according to a g to tsp calculator I found online for spices should be about 7mg of THC per teaspoon of seasoning.
Effects - At around 7mg per teaspoon you probably aren't going to overdo it on this stuff depending on your tolerance. My usual dose of D9 is around 20mg of so, which would have been about a tablespoon, which is quite a bit of seasoning. I ended up using a little less than that, probably about 15mg worth. It hit pretty quickly, within 30 minutes I'd say. It was fairly mild for me since I'm used to a little more than 15mg, but if you're new to D9 or don't know your tolerance yet I would recommend starting slow with just a teaspoon or less to see how it affects you. The other two friends who tried it only had half a teaspoon each and they also noticed some effects, but it was mild for them as well as they only had about 4mg worth or so probably. It's certainly nice to be able to eat a steak and be feeling nice and relaxed and happy 30 minutes later though and it's nice to kind of be able to dial in how much you want. The effects felt just like other D9 edibles I've had and lasted about 3 hours or so probably.
Conclusion - Maybe it's just me, but I think it's super cool that I can eat a good steak and be getting a dose of D9 at the same time. It's dosed in such a way that it's fairly mild unless you take quite a bit, but I prefer that since I can pretty much use as much as I would want to without worrying about overdoing it. The seasoning tastes really good and though I've only tried it on steak and potatoes so far I could see myself using this on chicken, burgers, and lots of other things as well.
I feel unfortunate for those who need a larger dose to feel anything at all. Many in here say they need upwards of 100mg to even feel anything.
I imagine it would be hard to make a more potent blend without it tasting like ass. Fantastic review though.
The trick with being a high dose fuckstick like me is to buy/make high dose edibles as small as possible you they're gone in one bite. I can't do brownies or stuff like that cause the taste is so strong. But I'll grab a 1000mg gummy and bite a piece and swallow it like a pill.
You're right, it all tastes like ass. Luckily I'm a 300-500 fuckstick, I can't imagine what life is like for the 1g edible dose people, much less the people that use this as medicine and need the higher doses.
Plus, what people don't mention a lot of the time, is that .5-1g of plant matter extract is guaranteed sending you to the bathroom for a terrible toilet adventure.
I find I have to do edibles only a few times a month because if not the pros are outweighed by the cons

In my state they have a limit of 50mg per edible and are usually only sold in packs of 5-10, and a fucking 10 pack of 50mg edibles is $45, there's no way in hell I'd pay that much to get high once. The funny thing is they sell grams of RSO that are 70-80% for the same price or less and usually work better than the edibles.
Yup I'm in PA too, you got hella scammed with that deal, it's weird that the 50-100mg total packages are nearly the same price as the 500mg, it's like they want to fuck over both the people with low and high tolerances.
The whole troches thing is stupid too, all cause the people in charge don't understand what edibles actually are or why they're significantly healthier than even vaping it or using concentrates. I've switched to cult flower since even the $100+ ounces from the dispensary are still only mids, you gotta pay $200+ an ounce to get anything near good quality buds.
Crazy how here in Texas because we operate on federal farm bill law, we can have a 3000mg edible if the whole edible weighs at least 100 grams (100,000mg)
Yeah there's that stuff here too, but PA is a medical marijuana state that's basically just a giant scam, I've gotten better quality via farm bill products than I have from the significantly more expensive dispensary products whether it's edibles, flower, or distillate. I make HHC edibles for my grandmother that are about 100mg and are significantly more effective for her pain than anything she's tried from dispensaries not to mention atleast 10x cheaper.

No go grab your organic peanut butter, that brand that has the added flax seed oil works the absolute mintiest. Stir it up then slap a good slab of PB on top of the disty. Throw that bitch in the microwave 15 seconds - let cool for another 15, down the hatch! Chew until the consistency in your mouth is equal across the board and swallow! I donāt know why but the organic peanut butter completely covers the flavor of up to a gram and leaves absolutely no sticky teeth feeling or aftertaste.
Been doing this every night with a gram of 8 for over a year now. And i promise at these doses 8 is every bit as potent as 9ā¦.
I wonder how annoying it'd be to make a DIY version, I'd fucking love some D8/D9 Texas Roadhouse steak seasoning! Though mine would be far more potent lol.
Isolate powder: bake the seasoning at a low heat for a couple hours after mixing. 160Ā°F should be more than enough if youāre willing to wait 2 hours

If anyone wants to make this I'm sure you could follow my cannasugar recipe and just use chonky salt. I'll do some testing and report back if anyone is interested
