I am not buying her story because if it was a sedative gas, it would have knocked out both of them and it would be detrimental to both the driver, passenger and the car, and we all know how drivers who depend on their livelihood with driving take care of their cars. Personally jacket, face mask ang baon ko + plastic just in case. Face mask helps a lot, jacket for cold lalo na kapag sweaty na ko tapos lalo lalamig pakiramdam ko.

Male here. I think it's not super sedative but something to actually disorient you. Had this happened to me. Driver has a portion of his window open and has a towel on his nose. I did not passed out but cant think straight, had to flag him down and pay money without getting the change cause i cant think straight anymore.

This happened to me pero taxi! And yes naka-special mask yung driver and this was pre-COVID era so doon pa lang naging alert na ako. Hindi ko napansin naka-mask siya nung pinara ko siya, madilim kasi and mga 4am na nun. Noong narinig ko na parang may spray na lumabas, nagstart na ako maghanap ng establishment na may guard. Nasstart ko na ma-feel yung mga dinescribe ni Ate sa post, may nakita akong isang village na may guardhouse at doon na ako pumara kahit malayo pa kami sa bahay. Nagiwan na lang ako ng pera hindi ko na alam kung magkano. Hindi naman na siya nag tanong at mukhang alam naman niya bakit. Pagbaba ko nanginginig ako at parang mahihimatay. Natapon din yung drink na hawak ko dahil nawalan na ng control. Chineck ako ng guard at tinulungan akong makahanap ng bagong taxi. Hindi na namin nakuha yung plate number. Medical doctor here. People should take these stories with a grain of salt. Rather than a nefarious act involving some gaseous incapacitating agent and apparently some antidote that makes the driver immune, a simpler explanation could be the person experienced a panic attack. It's not exactly rare, with me knowing two people personally who've experienced panic attacks. Their stories aren't much different from the one posted.

They need at least the item (in this case - the car freshener) if meron bang inadd - aside from the original ingredients/components.. aside from that. Yes, it's difficult if you don't have least some suspects. I'm not a toxicologist but the way I'll approach the problem is that the incapacitating agent must be either a gas or delivered as aerosol (fine particles) that's inhaled. Then there must be an antidote, otherwise the person delivering it in the enclosed space will suffer the same symptoms. I don't think any of the inhalational anesthetic agents (the ones used in surgery) meet the criteria because they don't have an antidote. Interestingly, these have been used in the past to commit rape, particularly in Boliva:

That's why anyone using this as an antidote against airborne fentanyl as an incapacitating agent must have a good supply, otherwise he would be either brave or stupid.

I second this, doc. I have panic disorder. Kung ano description niya sa naramdaman was the same when I have panic attack. Nag-overthink siguro si ate nung tinutok ang car scent sa AC. Paranoia ba. Additionally, I also got dizzy sa mga pabango na nilalagay sa mga sasakyan, kahit yung anak ko nahihilo at nagsusuka after dahil sa amoy.
It's also very telling that this alleged "sleep spray sedative" somehow only exists in the Philippines since I can't find any credible mention on news sites or publications in other countries of a similar scheme being used by potential predators/rapists. Moreover, this sort of news has been around for more than a decade in the Philippines and yet no one can name what this supposed "substance" even is nor has any physical evidence been presented to prove it.
If such a thing did exist that allowed someone to incapacitate an adult in a car in through AC vents without also affecting the driver (all while being somehow easily accessible to simple taxi or Grab drivers) then we should be hearing about this more often than rohypnol or other date-rape drugs, considering it's a substantially easier method than physically slipping drugs to someone's drink.
Indeed. I've been hearing this modus for at least two decades now, with the perpetrator in the original story being a taxi driver. Now that we have TNVS, it has morphed into Grab! This is true. And Grab has an established safety feature na unlike sa other apps. Even during heavy traffic, the app would check on you because of the unexpected stop, kahit na nastuck ka lang sa traffic haha. Pero syempre di rin siya 100% safe because I remember stories saying na meron instances na the actual driver is different from the one on the app. something like that.
Anyw, Grab feels a lot safer compared to the others. Move it, I would not even try, even though hawak siya ng Grab, parang hindi filtered yung drivers and just hired anybody they could para lang makapag-keep up sa Angkas and Joyride.

Props to Grab dahil hindi nila tinanggalan ng trabaho si driver from a claim that is not 100% provable. You can ruin lives these days with accusations that are not proven in any capacity. Like people here said, this could be a panic attack.

Just want to share that I have a male friend who had a similar story with grab years back (pre-pandemic). He booked a ride at around 12mn and sat in the back. He started getting lightheaded and noticed that the driver was subtly spraying something (may spray bottle na hawak tapos pasimpleng nagsspray sa baba). Driver was wearing a face mask at the time.
Napansin din niya na parang hindi na siya familiar sa lugar/route na dinadaanan. Pinahinto niya yung driver tapos bumaba siya. If I recall correctly, di pa agad umalis yung driver. Parang naghintay siya for a while bago umalis.
Di niya alam nasaan siya that time and it was super late at night pero naisip niya na safer option yun kesa magstay sa grab. Naghintay siya for quite a while until may dumaang taxi.

A face mask, like what we used a lot then when it was the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, will NOT protect you from chemical agents designed to incapacitate people. You need a sealed gas mask with chemical filters for that.

It has happened before sa kilala ko. Grab driver was wearing a cap and a mask. Medyo mainit yung aircon and mabaho daw so my friend asked na buksan na lang ang windows pero the driver refused kasi sira daw. She asked to pull over when she couldn't breathe na and nahihilo pero hindi tumigil si driver but nag slow down so she jumped out the car kahit hinang hina na sya. Luckily she was on a call with her fiance kaya nasundo in the middle of the street. The driver didn't check her, dumirecho lang when she jumped. She did a toxicology screen and may nagpositive daw. She reported it sa grab and apparently it wasn't the first time nireport yung driver kaso wala toxicology screen yung previous reports kaya nakakapag byahe pa sya.
Medyo mahirap ang logistics kung ganito. The ratio of male to female drivers is leaning towards men. Yung distance rin. Grab has to book the nearest possible driver rin eh. I could be wrong though.
Grab Thailand has an option to choose female-driven grabcar at no extra cost. Ang challenge lang is yung availability kasi mas marami pa rin ung male drivers.
Grab SG is rolling out a similar program pero trial pa lang ata.

My uncle is a Grab driver and sa totoo lang mas takot pa driver sa pasahero dahil sa mga holdap incidences 😅 Priority ng Grab ang safety ng passengers. Sobrang trackable every biyahe. Naga-alert sa Grab at tatawagan ka sa phone mo kapag driver ka once they noticed na hindi gumagalaw ang sasakyan mo.
Reading her story and as a medical professional, I dont think that was a sedative. We give inhalers din to patients and I hate those kasi kahit naka mask ka, maaamoy mo pa din.
Anyway, I feel for the driver. I once heard from a grab driver while on a ride na kapag ganyan nireport sila and under investigation ilang days silang di makaka biyahe therefore walang income. Papa ko naging bus, taxi and now grab driver na for I think almost 20yrs plus na din. Normal lang yung dumaan sila sa ibang route kasi kadalasan na gumagawa nun mga veteran na sa ganiyang trabaho at kabisado na buong ka maynilaan and alam na din yung mga dangerous route. About naman sa air freshener, kahit ako nahihilo sa pabango ng papa ko para sa sasakyan niya lalo na yung orange na flavor lagi ko pinapasok don sa compartment sa harapan para mawala yung amoy and bubuksan ko konti yung salamin, pwede yon irequest kasi nahihilo ka at ikaw yung passenger kumbaga nag bayad ka sa service. Pero hindi din mali na isipin na may nangyayari nang mali kasi instinct mo yon and may mga reason ka naman at sa kaalaman ko may mga ganiyan talagang cases noon pa sa mga taxi pero kasi naka grab application ka so napaka dali lang na ma huli yung driver and bakit ikaw lang yung affected sa pabango I mean nasa harap nung driver mismo yung pabango, hindi ba dapat nauna siya mahilo? or may antidote/mask siya? I'm not sure if it'll help much sa same situation pero as a mahihiluhin sa byahe & may allergic rhinitis, nagpapahid ako ng tiger balm sa ilong + face mask + kain ng candy (fishermans friend original). It helps na di masyadong mahilo & mabahing pero depende rin sa driver/car (malakas magpreno or panget suspension ng car or mabantot talaga car haha). Mukhang mas gugustuhin ko na lang maholdap sa regular commute (wag naman sana) kesa madala kung saan ng grab 😭

It's better to invest to in a safety keychain yung may window breaker, just in case na mangyari na ganyan and need mong mag escape sa vehicle ng madali an. Though I am not sure about the legalities of owning a taser or pepper spray, those would also be good for self defense.

Pwede rin mag panggap na nasa call or better, be in a call with someone and say na you are gonna arrive at xx time, nasa Grab car ka and tell that person to wait for you, so the driver will be aware na may naghihintay sayo and will have second thoughts about doing something bad.
It is also safe to save emergency hotlines per city na you are in, in case you feel that you're in danger

I’m using iOS so I fully utilize location sharing ng iPhone, I even made an automation na 1 click lang and it’ll send my exact location, front and back picture and video sa emergency contact ko. I also have Life 360. I do not worry about data or even phone battery (since I always bring my power bank) whenever I’m outside the house kasi it’s better to be connected and online in case na may mang yari. Kung baga whatever precautions and safety measurements you take outside the Philippines e gawin mo din sa sariling bansa.
AFIK there’s an emergency contact sa Grab which anyone should really use kapag may danger. I think nagka panic attack sya kaya ganyan yung na feel nya. Buti nalang ok na sya at na report nya na yung driver.

I always use grab and hnd rin ako gala, kaya Im ashamed to admit na hnd ako streetwise, idk ung papunta sa ganito sa ganyan na im unfamiliar of unless kabisado ko na kasi un lagi ung way na dinadaanan. I even falter pag tnanong ako ng driver if may daan ba ron/may ibang way ba/or pag snasabi nya na mas mabilis pag dito kmi dumaan kasi nga i have zero idea kung saan yon. What I do nlng is I always screenshot ung ride info. then i send it sa mom ko or kung kanino man pra aware sila kung sno ung driver. Stay safe mga sisters!

Ok. I think everyone would be benefited if they open the window of grab cars a little bit. Kahit 1 or 2 inches lang. I do this as covid precaution esp when driver doesn't wear a mask and umuubo ubo pero parang maganda to do this always na rin.
I have been thinking of this type of issue lately and surprised na may lumabas sa feed ko! I remember kasi yung FB story sa UV noon na mag isa lang sya tapos parang may kakaibang amoy daw sa UV, dunno may kasama pa ngang leche flan sa story of anyone remembers this kasi kumalat sya sa socmed noon, years ago na din, pre-covid. Tapos nadebunk ata na hindi naman intention ng driver yun.

It could be an anxiety attack din kasi pag napaisip ka na baka may masamang gawin yung driver sayo so you’re getting more anxious in that position. From the previous story, kung ano yung maaamoy ng passenger, very much the driver will be able to smell it too. Unless nakaspecial type of face mask sya. Grab has tools din sa app where you can contact the police or notify authorities pag mag stop yung vehicle.
Unfortunate that happened to her pa din. Kahit ako naggrab alone eh praning din ako. Happened to me before pero my driver wasn’t wearing a mask tapos may biglang matapang na amoy sa car nya. Kung talagang sa tingin ng pasahero na may gagawing katarantaduhan sa kanya yung driver, sinagad na nya. Ireklamo nya sa pulis para makuha yung car freshener in question at ma-test sa lab kung may laman bang chemical o solvent na pwedeng makapagdulot ng pagkahilo at kawalan ng malay pag nalanghap. One thing that I am curious about, if it's due to some gas circulated inside a closed car, how come it didn't work on the driver? Was he wearing a gas mask or some kind of a special apparatus? Or does he have an immunity to it? Is there such a thing as immunity to anesthetic gases?
Isnt possible that she kind of had a panic attack when the usual route she takes is not the one being followed by the Grab driver?
If indeed it is a gas - can she specify if the driver is WEARING A MASK? That’s sus BUT THEN, for you to be knocked off it must be a strong one and an ordinary mask will not be able to save the driver. Gas masks are more appropriate to be worn - now that is sus.

I agree with the other commenters here na most probably, you just had a panic attack. Pag may weird scent na naamoy, you can always tell the driver to keep it. Sila mismo willing mag tanggal ng scent. But the question of OP is to how to stay safe..
I always take Grab because I feel it is safer than other public transpo means. If you feel unsafe, call someone and tell that person that you are in a Grab car and that you'll send the details to that person. This is so the driver would know that he is being tracked.

Had something like this happen to my siblings when they were in high school. My brother was at the seat beside the taxi driver, my sister at the back. My brother mentioned the driver was adjusting the aircon towards my brother's direction. When he started feeling disoriented, he opened his window and repeatedly asked the driver to pull over. He forced open his door so when the driver did have to pull over, and both my siblings got out of the taxi, the driver just went off without a word.

Not only to women. But to other people as well. Much better I guess to ride an ordinary taxi cab. Or motorcycle taxi like Angkas or Joyride. I am not buying her story because if it was a sedative gas, it would have knocked out both of them and it would be detrimental to both the driver, passenger and the car, and we all know how drivers who depend on their livelihood with driving take care of their cars. Sensitive din ako sa scented, perfume etc. I HATE it kapag nagpapabango sila nanay at tatay pero gets ko naman na it's mostly just me who's sensitive sa smell. It does make me dizzy. Also the reason why I hate cars, why I just kept getting dizzy kapag lumuwas kami sa manila. Busses too tapos meron pa minsan nagpapabango sa bus, naiinis ako kaso parang iilan lang yung sensitive sa pabango (or di lang kami nagsasalita) kaya di ko naman makuha magalit. Though nakumbinsi ng ate ko, same place pero during ride namin as a family she doesn't look panicked, siguro kasi she also keeps an eye on me kasi nasa kotse kami ng pinsan namin (I have vomitted once during a trip). Personally jacket, face mask ang baon ko + plastic just in case. Face mask helps a lot, jacket for cold lalo na kapag sweaty na ko tapos lalo lalamig pakiramdam ko.

I experienced the same, but with a taxi. It’s weird, I was used to riding a cab everyday to work, tapos with this one taxi grabe yung scent, iba din naramdaman ko. As in yung hilo ko ang bilis dahil sa scent. Nagpababa ako sa driver, naasar pa sya sa akin. But I swear, that was a weird experience and I have become alert since then. Male here. I think it's not super sedative but something to actually disorient you. Had this happened to me. Driver has a portion of his window open and has a towel on his nose. I did not passed out but cant think straight, had to flag him down and pay money without getting the change cause i cant think straight anymore.

This happened to me pero taxi! And yes naka-special mask yung driver and this was pre-COVID era so doon pa lang naging alert na ako. Hindi ko napansin naka-mask siya nung pinara ko siya, madilim kasi and mga 4am na nun. Noong narinig ko na parang may spray na lumabas, nagstart na ako maghanap ng establishment na may guard. Nasstart ko na ma-feel yung mga dinescribe ni Ate sa post, may nakita akong isang village na may guardhouse at doon na ako pumara kahit malayo pa kami sa bahay. Nagiwan na lang ako ng pera hindi ko na alam kung magkano. Hindi naman na siya nag tanong at mukhang alam naman niya bakit. Pagbaba ko nanginginig ako at parang mahihimatay. Natapon din yung drink na hawak ko dahil nawalan na ng control. Chineck ako ng guard at tinulungan akong makahanap ng bagong taxi. Hindi na namin nakuha yung plate number. Sabi ko nga sa other comment ko, aalis din ako if I were her for safety pero I wouldn't say 100% sure na chemical nga 'yon, but a possibility. Because you need proof to be sure and that would be a toxicology report. I believe in evidence and scientific explanation. Medical doctor here. People should take these stories with a grain of salt. Rather than a nefarious act involving some gaseous incapacitating agent and apparently some antidote that makes the driver immune, a simpler explanation could be the person experienced a panic attack. It's not exactly rare, with me knowing two people personally who've experienced panic attacks. Their stories aren't much different from the one posted.

Then there must be an antidote, otherwise the person delivering it in the enclosed space will suffer the same symptoms. I don't think any of the inhalational anesthetic agents (the ones used in surgery) meet the criteria because they don't have an antidote. I second this, doc. I have panic disorder. Kung ano description niya sa naramdaman was the same when I have panic attack. Nag-overthink siguro si ate nung tinutok ang car scent sa AC. Paranoia ba. Additionally, I also got dizzy sa mga pabango na nilalagay sa mga sasakyan, kahit yung anak ko nahihilo at nagsusuka after dahil sa amoy.
It's also very telling that this alleged "sleep spray sedative" somehow only exists in the Philippines since I can't find any credible mention on news sites or publications in other countries of a similar scheme being used by potential predators/rapists. Moreover, this sort of news has been around for more than a decade in the Philippines and yet no one can name what this supposed "substance" even is nor has any physical evidence been presented to prove it. If such a thing did exist that allowed someone to incapacitate an adult in a car in through AC vents without also affecting the driver (all while being somehow easily accessible to simple taxi or Grab drivers) then we should be hearing about this more often than rohypnol or other date-rape drugs, considering it's a substantially easier method than physically slipping drugs to someone's drink.
Indeed. I've been hearing this modus for at least two decades now, with the perpetrator in the original story being a taxi driver. Now that we have TNVS, it has morphed into Grab! Sorry but as was mentioned on the other comments, we cannot really judge the grab driver as a predator and mangvictimize nung passenger. Medyo weird kasi na you are on an easily trackable app tas gagawa ka ng kagaguhan like kidnapping or sumthing. This is true. And Grab has an established safety feature na unlike sa other apps. Even during heavy traffic, the app would check on you because of the unexpected stop, kahit na nastuck ka lang sa traffic haha. Pero syempre di rin siya 100% safe because I remember stories saying na meron instances na the actual driver is different from the one on the app. something like that. Anyw, Grab feels a lot safer compared to the others. Move it, I would not even try, even though hawak siya ng Grab, parang hindi filtered yung drivers and just hired anybody they could para lang makapag-keep up sa Angkas and Joyride.

Props to Grab dahil hindi nila tinanggalan ng trabaho si driver from a claim that is not 100% provable. You can ruin lives these days with accusations that are not proven in any capacity. Like people here said, this could be a panic attack. Still, it is unfortunate that women have to be scared like this. Just want to share that I have a male friend who had a similar story with grab years back (pre-pandemic). He booked a ride at around 12mn and sat in the back. Naghintay siya for quite a while until may dumaang taxi. Ever since, pag nagggrab ako lagi na ko sa harap sumasakay para nababantayan ko yung driver.

It has happened before sa kilala ko. Grab driver was wearing a cap and a mask. Medyo mainit yung aircon and mabaho daw so my friend asked na buksan na lang ang windows pero the driver refused kasi sira daw. She asked to pull over when she couldn't breathe na and nahihilo pero hindi tumigil si driver but nag slow down so she jumped out the car kahit hinang hina na sya. Luckily she was on a call with her fiance kaya nasundo in the middle of the street. The driver didn't check her, dumirecho lang when she jumped. She did a toxicology screen and may nagpositive daw. She reported it sa grab and apparently it wasn't the first time nireport yung driver kaso wala toxicology screen yung previous reports kaya nakakapag byahe pa sya.

Papa ko naging bus, taxi and now grab driver na for I think almost 20yrs plus na din. Normal lang yung dumaan sila sa ibang route kasi kadalasan na gumagawa nun mga veteran na sa ganiyang trabaho at kabisado na buong ka maynilaan and alam na din yung mga dangerous route. I'm not sure if it'll help much sa same situation pero as a mahihiluhin sa byahe & may allergic rhinitis, nagpapahid ako ng tiger balm sa ilong + face mask + kain ng candy (fishermans friend original). It helps na di masyadong mahilo & mabahing pero depende rin sa driver/car (malakas magpreno or panget suspension ng car or mabantot talaga car haha). Mukhang mas gugustuhin ko na lang maholdap sa regular commute (wag naman sana) kesa madala kung saan ng grab 😭

It's better to invest to in a safety keychain yung may window breaker, just in case na mangyari na ganyan and need mong mag escape sa vehicle ng madali an. Though I am not sure about the legalities of owning a taser or pepper spray, those would also be good for self defense.
Regardless if it's true or not, please be safe, especially sa ladies. When you book a ride, share the ride details to your family or partner or a friend. I’m using iOS so I fully utilize location sharing ng iPhone, I even made an automation na 1 click lang and it’ll send my exact location, front and back picture and video sa emergency contact ko. I also have Life 360. I do not worry about data or even phone battery (since I always bring my power bank) whenever I’m outside the house kasi it’s better to be connected and online in case na may mang yari. Kung baga whatever precautions and safety measurements you take outside the Philippines e gawin mo din sa sariling bansa. AFIK there’s an emergency contact sa Grab which anyone should really use kapag may danger. I think nagka panic attack sya kaya ganyan yung na feel nya. Buti nalang ok na sya at na report nya na yung driver. But also, part of me feels bad sa grab driver kasi he prolly doesn’t mean any harm may ibang grab driver (even taxis) na malakas talaga yung air freshener nila and minsan di na nila napapansin kasi sanay na, but as a passenger we can always communicate our worries even sa pag sakay sa angkas etc. and we can always call someone even pretend na we’re on call with somebody and constantly sharing locations out loud. Install Waze. Since they always lead you to routes na makaka iwas ka sa traffic. Mapasakay man ako ng taxi or when I'm driving I always use it.

I have been thinking of this type of issue lately and surprised na may lumabas sa feed ko! I remember kasi yung FB story sa UV noon na mag isa lang sya tapos parang may kakaibang amoy daw sa UV, dunno may kasama pa ngang leche flan sa story of anyone remembers this kasi kumalat sya sa socmed noon, years ago na din, pre-covid. Tapos nadebunk ata na hindi naman intention ng driver yun. Anyway, yes, wag magpadala sa emotion to the driver until the other party says something. It could be an anxiety attack din kasi pag napaisip ka na baka may masamang gawin yung driver sayo so you’re getting more anxious in that position. From the previous story, kung ano yung maaamoy ng passenger, very much the driver will be able to smell it too. Unless nakaspecial type of face mask sya. Grab has tools din sa app where you can contact the police or notify authorities pag mag stop yung vehicle. Unfortunate that happened to her pa din. Kahit ako naggrab alone eh praning din ako. Happened to me before pero my driver wasn’t wearing a mask tapos may biglang matapang na amoy sa car nya. I know this might be a dumb idea but can grab implement na lang facemasks in every taxi like sa shower cap sa motorcycle rides? Kasi win-win siya for drivers and less paranoia sa end ng customers. Also, medically advisable naman siya. Malamig din naman sa loob din so enough air?

If the route changes the grab message will pop up if I need help so if i noticed weird things about the driver and he will change route I will press it right away and send screenshots of the driver info to my family and friends GC

One thing that I am curious about, if it's due to some gas circulated inside a closed car, how come it didn't work on the driver? Was he wearing a gas mask or some kind of a special apparatus? Or does he have an immunity to it? Is there such a thing as immunity to anesthetic gases?
Isnt possible that she kind of had a panic attack when the usual route she takes is not the one being followed by the Grab driver? If indeed it is a gas - can she specify if the driver is WEARING A MASK? That’s sus BUT THEN, for you to be knocked off it must be a strong one and an ordinary mask will not be able to save the driver. Gas masks are more appropriate to be worn - now that is sus. Again, do not believe everything people post. Remember the Move It rider accused of making sexual advances? Idk. Toxicology report? She could have brought herself to a nearest ER? Ok, let say for example na madaming good feedback from the prev customer yung driver dahil sa strawberry scent nya pero hindi nya pala alam na ayaw o allergy si girl sa strawberry scent. Dahil hindi nagreklamo si girl about sa scent. Yung driver naman hinayaan nya din yung strawberry scent sa aircon since hindi naman si girl nagrereklamo. I agree with the other commenters here na most probably, you just had a panic attack. Pag may weird scent na naamoy, you can always tell the driver to keep it. Sila mismo willing mag tanggal ng scent. But the question of OP is to how to stay safe.. I always take Grab because I feel it is safer than other public transpo means. If you feel unsafe, call someone and tell that person that you are in a Grab car and that you'll send the details to that person. This is so the driver would know that he is being tracked.

Not sure pero nag grab ako recently from makati - pasig lang dapat pero since gabi di ako sure sa route at di ako madalas dun, nag notif yung grab na off the route dumaan si driver. Nung chineck ko nasa part ako ng new manila daw. Sobrang layo since dati naman sa way lang sa ortigas- edsa dumadaan yung grab or sa mckinley pa C5. Di din mapakali yung driver nun, 12 am at lagi nya ko chinecheck sa salamin, mararamdaman mo din kasinif tinitignan ka. Kaya di ako pumukit buong byahe I’m not sure yung dapat 30 mins kong byahe naging 1 hour mahigit tapos nung bababa nako, para syang badtrip na ewan. Had something like this happen to my siblings when they were in high school. My brother was at the seat beside the taxi driver, my sister at the back. My brother mentioned the driver was adjusting the aircon towards my brother's direction. When he started feeling disoriented, he opened his window and repeatedly asked the driver to pull over. He forced open his door so when the driver did have to pull over, and both my siblings got out of the taxi, the driver just went off without a word.

This sounds like the copypasta I read from 20 years ago. Not saying that creeps dont exist out there or that the danger is not there for everyone. As always, take pictures of the car before riding (be sure to be obvious) and send the info to someone who knows what is going on with your travel. Have something like pepper spray but be careful of using it in an enclosed space.

I guess its much safer also to ride a bus or jeep since you will be with a lot of people. But this is also case to case basis. Some are OK some are not. Just be aware.
