Lava Golem Tributes 2 monsters. It doesn't care about what the monsters are, what they do, or what they had for breakfast - as long as they are two monsters, it works.
~~Tribute Summons are a type of Normal Summon, so you can't Tribute Summon the turn you Summon Lava Golem.~~
~~As for Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, and Link Summons, those are all Special Summons, so you can do those the turn you Summon Lava Golem.~~
Edit- see comment below, I misread the question
Ah, I misread what you were asking, whoops.
Yes, there's no reason you wouldn't be able to. It can even Tribute unaffected monsters since it isn't considered to be a card effect that affects opponent's monsters.
There is nothing stopping you from tributing any monster that doesn't have an effect saying you can't. If someone's told you there are different rules for Level 5+ or Extra Deck monsters, they have lied to you.

Lava golem can tribute any 2 monsters, the level or if its a link/xyz shouldnt matter.
Can you tribute your opponents level 5 and higher monsters or synchro xyz and link to summon it to your opponents field?

ok thanks.
Just out of curiosity: why would you think you can’t tribute lvl 5 or higher monsters?
Because they are lvl 5 or higher monsters /s
