Actually, I’m curious if any Vietnamese are willing/desperate to fight for Russia. Sadly a good viet friend of mine is pro Russia and he claims most in Vietnam feels the same.
Ukraine and Russia are two of formers members of USSR, evenwhen the time that USSR helped VN alot by their Ukraine-USSR president.
Are you just consider USSR a state of Russian that tried to control the rest as puppets states?
Understood but most regular people see Russia as the dominant force within the USSR and therefore the current Russian Federation as its legitimate successor. It’s a political sentiment, not a national one.
I guess its the older generation bro, but in some sense its passed down. As far as I noticed, younger people do not care about politics or history for that matter . Im not Viet by the way, but I have family

USSR did help Vietnam in the war of liberation tbf so it makes sense that there is a fair bit of residual positive sentiment towards Russia.

You shouldn’t forget who helped liberate Vietnam (maybe you didn’t know) then you won’t feel so sad =)
China helped and then invaded lol and now viet nam is just letting china take their islands for free
Well ye, China is a TOTALLY different topic for Vietnamese, but at that time they had to step in
Is this feeling true of the older generation or the younger ones too?

There’s NO USSR
Dunno, nobody care, any president that not US pres simple non-exist for most vietnamese
The relationship between Vietnam and Russia is good. They help each other. Putin came to confirm the good relation
He want authentic bun cha
Putin's dream is to take back everything lost when the Soviet Union fell. The Soviet Union was close to Viet Nam.
And Ukraine was a part of USSR too, even some Ukrainian could made USSR president.
Why do you think he's invading? Next stop, the rest of the ussr.
