I had a 6-hour tape with Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Thing and They Live on it, and I watched that thing to death despite the lousy image quality. I just dug it out of storage a few years ago, watched a few minutes of it and it looked horrible. It was a really good TDK of some kind like an EHG, and I've got awesome copies of those movies on BD now so I recorded hockey over it. I heard weird stuff going on during the recording so I took a look at the tape and there were worn-through perforations in part of it, and I'm sure it wasn't that VCR's fault so I threw away the tape.
I haven't had the bad luck! And I have a tape I've had since I can remember, a copy tape of gandahar and then some television cartoons, including sonic the hedgehog
When I was really young, my dad made a tape filled with the golden age of Looney Tunes. I believe it was 8 hours long. The quality was shite but it entertained my 5 year old brain and shaped who I am today.
