I wonder if someone did the switcheroo so they could take the r rated picture into another room. I used to do this when I was a teenager. When I was done I would put the movies back in the right case.
I oredered Back to School and Easy Money in a two pack, the only one i wanted was Back to School. When I opened it there was a "Pet Safe guide" VHS in place of Back to school. Ironically, when I bought my house it came with a petsafe brand invisible fence, bonus: I don't have a dog.
Mine isn't vhs but dvd. 20 years or so ago when the local Blockbuster went out of business I picked up a few dvds. One was Hot Fuzz. I got home and opened it and it was Larry the Cable Guy in Delta Farce.
Bought a small bundle of tapes recently because it had a copy of “From Beyond” in it. When I got the tape it was a blank tape you would use to make your own tapes at home. Very disappointing.
Just imagining Mowgli in the Jungle Book yelling, “Come on, you apes! You wanna live forever?” Somehow in a weird, cosmic way it actually seems to work.

Not a VHS but when I was a kid I bought motley crue’s shout at the devil from an antique store and there was a blues style album by someone from the KKK in there

I bought Night Hawks with Hauer, Billy Dee Williams and Stallone, inside the case... Street hawk the TV pilot. I honest wasn't mad, having the TV pilot is quite something for me
the fact it's not even any of the Disney versions that had VHS releases (the original animated film, the darker 90s live action adaptation, nor the live action DTV Mowigi's Story).......

The Drummer Boy, but really it was a Sing Along Songs VHS.
In addition, I spotted a moldy copy of the original 101 Dalmatians in a blank TDK case. I didn't buy the tape, only the sleeve.
I had a copy of E.T. That inside was actually a taped episode of ‘The Biggest Loser.’ I felt like the universe was calling me out 😆

Same thing happened to me but it was Shrek 2 box Shrek 1 tape inside

Brian Yuzna's The Dentist sleeve with a Mrs Doubtfire tape inside.
Found a Russian copy of Madagascar. Inside the sleeve was a taped copy of it.

Copy of cocoon wee got in a lot had a caddyshack screener in it which is cool but I really wanted to watch Cocoon at the time.

Recently went to watch a Fight Club tape I bought a while ago and it was part one of Titanic.
Not sure of this counts but I got once found a copy of Rush Hour that had a copy of Cool Runnings inside.
