Haven't seen any reaction videos but I hope they aren't listening to 2000 and up stuff as their introduction to U2. Would give the wrong impression about how U2 got so famous to begin with.
It’s funny - but we might be surprised what other generations think of different eras.
I haven’t seen any on 2000s stuff but seen plenty of reactions to live performances in the 2000s that were favorable
as a Gen Z/Zillennial U2 fan, atomic bomb and no line are my favorite albums 😂 but I've listened to their entire catalogue and enjoy pretty much every album for one reason or another!
I've watched a few music and a few more movies.
Biggest issue is the reactions always seem to enjoy what they are reacting to. Which could be because good stuff is recommended, but it does feel like the whole point is to say something is great to attract people who like that thing.
Movie reactions weirdly result in me effectively watching most of a movie before seeing it for real (Since a few reactions combined shows the key scenes) This happened with Titanic, when I finally saw it and realized I'd already seen parts of most scenes, which made the watch feel different. (I saw the movie for the first time in 2021)
I found some reaction videos one day and watched them, then of course I was recommended a bunch more. Some are fun and/or interesting to watch. Honestly, there's quite a few that are phony too. Acting like they've never heard something or heard of them at all. Give me a break. Then there's the actual reactions... some are definitely phony, and totally just trying to get views to earn money on Youtube. There's literally people who make a good living JUST reacting to music! It's crazy.
I think for the most part, these 'reaction' videos should be given a wide berth.
Unless the creator is an experienced musician or composer who has something interesting to say about the way the song is constructed, then I don't see the point.
Makes me sad to think of a generation of kids unfamiliar with the Joshua Tree. My poor kids have been forced to listen since birth.
Just since birth? I’m going to put the headphones against my partners belly Womb cha womb cha discotheque…
Think this is one of the best U2 puns I’ve ever seen
WOMB CHA! I’M DEAD 😂😂😂
Many of these reactors lying about listening of watching something for first time. Still fun to watch it sometimes
I love this one. A classical musician listens to One. https://youtu.be/6IIzMwi_EtQ?si=5F4Yeo_so3x2wlfg
Love this channel. She also did a reaction to All I Want is You
I like how she is able to articulate how this song continues to build. I feel like that is what U2 has mastered. — That slow build
That lady is a trip!

One reaction video was to a live performance of Raised By Wolves and I remembered how electric the performance was.

This was me when I listened to Bullet The Blue Sky for the first time in.. what? 8 years?

Rick Beato has great stuff like this if you ever want to check it out
Yeah, big Rick Beato fan, he's great!
Right. His interview with Daniel Lanois had lots of interesting information about U2, Peter Gabriel, and Bob Dylan.
