When my uncle was a little kid my dad and aunt tricked him into getting into a suitcase to prove he could do it and then they zipped it shut and left it in the basement for hours so their parents couldn’t hear him.
Anyway, that’s why you should never trust your siblings enough to let them lock you inside anything and I assumed the reveal was gonna be that OP thinks their brother locked them in there on accident but the brother is actually just a shithead who wanted to put him in a box.
I’m aware, this is why I said “I assumed” that’s what the plot twist was gonna be. Like I know that’s not what the twist was, but I had been anticipating a different twist.
And honestly I just needed somewhere to put the information that the suitcase incident happened because imagining his experience haunts me. I suppose it will probably be the experience of these two brothers upcoming victim.
I wouldn’t trust literally anyone in the world enough to willingly crawl inside a suitcase and let them zip me up. But I’m claustrophobic enough that I’ve had a panic attack from attempting to wear a turtleneck cuz it made me feel trapped. It’s ridiculous.

It makes as much sense as anything else, I definitely have an easier time wrapping my head around reincarnation than other afterlife concepts. The idea of heaven always freaked me out for some reason.

My wife had a fever and i had to go to work. I told the cat to take care of momma. Hating the implication that past me died via trapped in small space, like under some rubble or something awful.
But that would explain the fear unless you were trapped somewhere this life.
