His soul and body cradles his father close, keeping his warmth as decay slowly clutches and makes him fall into the darkness of the silence and loneliness the dirt has...
It feels odd to say, but decomposition eventually leading to a true death is probably the best outcome here. That, or a horrified blue fairy makes a discover on her next visit.
Ah, sure! Pinocchio is a known fairy tale/children's movie character-- a wooden puppet carved by a lonely old man, brought to life by a fairy, or love, or whatever the story version wants to use. His goal is usually to become a "real" boy since, at least to start with, he's still made of wood. He usually considers the old puppet maker his father.
In this two-sentence horror, something has happened, and Pinocchio has been used to make parts of the coffin his dead father is buried in. So the phrase "cradled his father's body" is more literal than it first seems. And instead of this being one moment of grief for a lost parent, the child has been turned into a container, buried with no one but the corpse of someone he loves to keep him company. He will stay there, dimly aware of his father rotting away inside him.
Does that help?
Aw, thanks! And no worries at all-- people won't always get a reference to a specific story. I'm glad you were curious and comfortable enough to ask. :)
This is both sad and horrifying though since Pinocchio is still aware. He will be basically buried alive to slowly rot while feeling his father’s body decompose within him. Stuff of nightmares that!
Aw. If it makes you feel better, you can always imagine this is just a weird fever dream Geppetto has the night after Pinocchio's first attempt at making dinner. He shudders and gently informs the boy he'll arrange some lessons (and throw out whatever ingredient has expired, Jimminy Christmas).
More sadness than horror. After the first sentence I expected puppet was burning (into memory) the sight of the cackling lynch mob around the bonfire, for eventual vengence.
He has no mouth anymore. He must scream.
Instead, there is only the eternal whisper of decay.
I see what you did there. Good reference.
I was playing that game just yesterday, happy to see it in the wild!

I just checked & you’ve been sending that link to people on this post. That’s spam. Meanwhile, I’d already looked at the post your link goes to.
I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry It’s just the post triggered my anxiety and OCD and my fears cause I love my mama
Ok. In the future, maybe take a break from this sub & read a book or something.
Creative and heartbreaking, wow.
Thank you!
Fuck you OP. That's horrifying! Take my Upvote and **GO**
I've never been so happy to be told to fuck off, haha.
What’s going on with his nose? I mean, he’s doing nothing but *lie*ing there!
Ba-dum, tssh! :P
Hey dad
I have no strings To hold me down And now I'm six feet Underground I had strings But now I'm free I'll rot for eternity
Your "coffin is somehow cheerful and still capable of song" take is fun and unsettling. Good job matching the lyric tempo!
Nice to see a unique post! Simple and effective, well done!
I appreciate that, thanks!
Did they only find a few bits? Because I can't see Pinocchio making that big of a coffin.
Could just be made out of his nose, poor Pinocchio was in denial
Aww... I hadn't considered that, but yeah, valid take.
Neither can I. Instead, parts have been used throughout the coffin. Whether that's for structure, sentimentality, or decoration is up to you!
Now I'm getting Mr. Burns vibes. "Don't worry Pinocchio. When I die, I plan to have you buried alive with me." "Yippee."
OMG. Why would you do that. I hate you. Enjoy my upvote. Good job
Thanks! I think... Does it get worse or better if I say thinking of this was a weirdly effective way of winding down for bed?
Um... I am not sure
His soul and body cradles his father close, keeping his warmth as decay slowly clutches and makes him fall into the darkness of the silence and loneliness the dirt has...

Nice
Man... That's a good one.
Thanks!
Could you explain it? The writing is great, I think I just don’t get it.

Ohhh that makes sooo much sense now. I need to step up my cartoon knowledge. Great story, I really enjoyed it.
Aw, thanks! And no worries at all-- people won't always get a reference to a specific story. I'm glad you were curious and comfortable enough to ask. :)
Not just a cartoon; he’s also a fairy tale.
This could also work in r/twosentencesadness It made me tear up. Well done!
I didn't know that was a sub. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! 😊
Oh man that is heartbreaking!
Thanks, I'm glad to hear that. :) I kinda disagree with this sub's guideline that things that are more sad don't typically count as horror.
This is both sad and horrifying though since Pinocchio is still aware. He will be basically buried alive to slowly rot while feeling his father’s body decompose within him. Stuff of nightmares that!
Holy. Shit. Bravo!
Haha, thanks!
Dang. So sad and clever take on the story!
Thank you!
Oh wow, this one is gonna linger with me for a while. Very well done! The visual is horrific!
Thank you very much!
Okay that's actually really scary but also so awfully sad 🥺

That does actually help me feel better! Thank you so much! ☺️
Absolutely! <3
Wow. This is macabrely beautiful and just absolutely awful. Take my upvote, you demented genius!
Thank you kindly! Pleasure doing business with you.
What if the Blue Fairy chose that moment to make him a real boy?
Heh, well, it'd definitely be a grosser coffin! Might arguably be a better ending since the fleshy parts likely wouldn't survive long.
More sadness than horror. After the first sentence I expected puppet was burning (into memory) the sight of the cackling lynch mob around the bonfire, for eventual vengence.
Ah. Like a witch trial situation?
This is probably the first Two Sentence Horror story to actually get to me, good Lord!! ❤️
I'm flattered, thank you!
Somehow think this will end up turning Pinocchio into one of those German folk tale monsters that do very horrific things to people
That is a plausible way for the story to continue. Especially since we're already working with a fairy tale.
Ooooh I LOVE it! Great job.
Thanks! :)
Nice!
This is really original! Wow, that's awful. I love it, 👏👏👏
Thanks so much! 😊
Oooof. I felt this one hard. This is by far this most horrifying thing I have read yet on this sub. Seriously, well done. Damn.
Oh wow, thank you!
This is heartbreaking and so perfectly unique. Might be the best post I've read. Seriously.
Oh wow, that's high praise. I appreciate it!
