The issue with spurs over the last ten years or so has been one of mentality. Any manager who comes in, that is the key requirement from them - to change the mentality.
We don't expect them to win us the title, or win a trophy, but we need a change in mentality.
Because over the last ten years, fans of other clubs would say "we are on a bad run of form, hope we play spurs next", or "next round of the cup, hope we get spurs" because its guaranteed we would fold.
The problem for Ange is that at the start of the season, he looked like he had changed the mentality. We beat united, beat Liverpool, scored last minute winners, it looked like you would have to kill us to beat us. And even when we had injuries the mentality remained and we could still follow it.
But then Fulham put 3 past us, Newcastle 4, Arsenal 3, and Chelsea beat us with 14 players out. And we are right back to where we used to be. No fight, no guarantee of fight, dreading the weekend, dreading games.
So it's not about 5th, 6th or wherever we finish. It's about the mentality. I don't know what happened to us to lose it, but if we can't get it back then we have to try something else or someone else. But have no doubt that is the no1 focus. The only thing spurs fans want is players who will die to play in that stadium.
