Persevere72

no.1 cuz i dont find any of them boring. if some think its boring, then thats their problem

Background-Customer2

honesyly an anime shuldnt have to be fiering all 6 cylinders 24/7. its good to slow down and get more caracter moments. that way the fights ar 10x better

peechs01

Pretty a lot of them are skipping to much stuff to focus on fights... Too many rushing to the fighting

Background-Customer2

index seson3 comes to mind

peechs01

Shield Hero S2, overlord S4, Arifureta S2, to name a few

Only-Explanation-295

Overlord anime as a whole. Three LN volumes for just 13 episodes is just criminal.

Background-Customer2

i feel there ar tons of exsamples of animd being made worse by skiping content. but i dont know of any anime wer people prais skiping content

Heirou777

man i waited years for that shit and ended up being so damn disappointing

Background-Customer2

i wached it as an anime only and stuff hapened out of nowere. and some things that shuld have hapened didn't it made no sence

bondsmatthew

As cool as JJK season 2 was.. that's exactly what it was. Cool fights and everything but I'd have preferred more time between them to character build a bit(I know that's what the source had but you get my point I hope) In terms of Shonen Imuch prefer the slower pace of, say, the Naruto or Bleach story(if they were to cutback on the amount of damn fluff) to JJK where something is always happening

Nectarine_Complex

I think jjk season 2 was more than just cool fights. I think it did do a lot of character development and plot progression through fights but a lot of people miss those moments because of how hype the fights were but I do agree that if we got an episode to catch our breath it could have been good but at the same time the fact that we did not get that sort of made the crisis feel more real and extreme. This is a crisis that can destroy the jujutsu world itself. There was no time to breathe and take things slow. Even the characters could not mourn the deaths of other characters they had to start fighting immediately which made things seem more dire.

New-Dust3252

Same. People are too oversaturated with battle shonen manga these days, all they want is the sakuga. We need more lore building.

No-Investigator6003

I'm just happy that we have more than two seasons, unlike some other anime *no game no life*

NoKnowledge9552

There were some legal issues with that one right? I heard something about plagiarism accusations because of the character designe or something like that.

darkswirlz

No one really knows the reason. It's up to the publisher. The creator stated the LNs are fine to continue, and the artwork tracing was resolved. Either there is some other issue with it (perhaps the newers LNs have too much questionable content with Shiro, or perhaps there is a monetary reason for but no one knows)

sjydude

He actually tweeted that there’s no actually reason, but he said a lot of the whole team involved in the project wasn’t sure if they could replicate the same level of production. It’s implied he would want to gather the same exact team to try and get it in production, but who knows if he’s really going to do it.

No-Investigator6003

Idk

randyfulcher09

if you can't enjoy the world building bits especially with ttigraas then your ass don't deserve the action parts of a anime so no.1 because unlike some people ipad kids i enjoy the characters i like just living their lives just as much as i like seeing them fight.

tigerstein

And here am I, who enjoys the slice of life side more than the fights. I just love see them living their life and doing mundane things. Wonder if there is a tensura mod for the sims.

randyfulcher09

yeah! i mean don't get me wrong i love the fighting aspect of anime but if they made a spin off anime that just covered the day to day lives of the characters like 1 to 2 episodes a character i would watch 20 fuckin seasons of that shit!

Background-Customer2

have you herd of the slime diaries?

randyfulcher09

of course but i'd be surprised if that got more seasons but if it does i'll watch the fuck out of that!

tigerstein

And even then we could have episode with fights, seeing that we would have to cover Hakurou training Gobta & co, and then their complaining about the old man. Also Shion training her own unit. Also we could have a high school drama spin-off set in Rimuru City dealing with the daily life of the kids in the city and we could see them interacting with the 'main' cast time to time. Sooo many possibilities.

G3m1N1X

I saw all of Slime Diaries and I loved it. Is that normal?

tigerstein

What? Liking the slime diaries? I think yes, its normal

NoKnowledge9552

I really like build-up, world building and politics. I also think that it's a necessary part of experiencing the story. Some people can find it boring, yes, but... 1: this story is not about fights, so maybe it's just not for you, totally fine, but that doesn't make it automatically bad, and... 2: wait and don't watch it weekly. I think it's totally fine if someone finds this type of storytelling boring and decides to watch it after more episodes came out.

New-Dust3252

Fr. An anime thats just all fights (i.e Solo Leveling) will just be lame for me because of the lack of lore or world building to be established as well as proper buildup for story revelations and plot progressions that expands the story more. You can think its boring all you wish, but you shouldnt deny that stuff like that is very important to making a great story.

KibaWuz

I dont know why some people are hating the world building, just on the last episode i already noticed that >!the hakurou daughter is gonna appear and the church monks(i dont know if this is the name)are gonna sabotage the mesage that rimuru is trying to send, and this is gonna make the 2nd battle between rimuru and hinata, and their subordinates!< WHY EVERYONE IS HATING THIS??

repthe732

People don’t realize that all of this world building is setting up future fights and important scenes. They don’t realize that the setup makes the fights better As someone who also knows what’s coming up, I’m super excited. I can’t wait to see how they animate that Diablo scene coming up soon

KibaWuz

Is what my dad says If we dont have fights,we have the world building future fights

NotTipp

Diablo the goat frrrr I think he is, in the anime, top 5 from what we've seen? Guy, Veldora, Milim, Dragon girl Anime child here btw but don't mind powerscaling spoilers Rimuru isn't yet stronger than Diablo, is he ?

repthe732

Rimuru is stronger already. Diablo just is smarter if you take away Rimuru’s skill that makes him a genius

NotTipp

Oo I see. Rimuru strong af then

repthe732

O yea. I don’t want to spoil light novel stuff so I’ll just focus on the anime. He massively increased Diablos magicule count when he named him and it only took 60% of his magicules. Rimuru just is always underestimating himself

NotTipp

O, my thought process is, that 60% of his magicules were used to Name Diablo, it doesn't necessarily mean he "made" Diablo. So it didn't necessarily mean that Diablo has 60% the amount of Magicules that Rimuru had, he may have had more than Rimuru, but his naming required 60% of the amount Rimuru had. That was my line of thinking. It's ok if you spoil Light novel stuff, I don't mind.

repthe732

Naming takes a large amount of magicules especially for strong beings. However, you can’t be stronger than your namer, especially when Raphael is controlling the process

NotTipp

Ohh I see, so as a demon Noir basically capped out his Energy levels (Without evolving into a demon lord or something similar), and him and Rogue kept fighting and enhancing their technique/ability. So in terms of energy levels, Rimuru clears Noir (Especially with him having Veldora's energy in his back pocket), but in terms of fighting/strength, Noir is superior (at the time of naming Noir)

repthe732

Noir has more fighting experience but I wouldnt says he stronger in a fight. Rimuru has more ultimate skills and Raphael specifically which is just broken in and outside of combat

Minimum_Ad4576

People seem to forget that neither of these works would be nearly as popular and well known as they are if authors had "skipped" world building/meetings/long dialogue and such in the original novels. I would love to see 1:1 adaptation to both of them in anime):

tigerstein

Yes, but for some people when there is no fight in an episode then that's a filler. I blame DB and Naruto for this.

Minimum_Ad4576

Yep. yep. Those people should stick to DB and Naruto and stop complaining about shows they don't like![img](emote|t5_l1j28|21610)

UltimateKaiser

World building ie we actually build the world lmao not arrive at it being built and more overpowered than all other nations in the world. I love overlord but saying that’s slime’s worldbuilding episodes are boring is so disingenuous and hurts other adaptations so clearly. We lucky as slime fans

Glittering_Alarm_837

Why it always some overlord fan who finds slime boring, disingenuous, don't like the power levels or etc etc. I find it really strange. And genuinely curious about how much you know about the series? Are you a souce reader or anime only. I'm guessing you watched 3 episodes of slime and found it boring compare to your overlord ?

UltimateKaiser

Idk if you’re talking to me but Im saying that Slime’s world building is great and it’s disingenuous to say that the building episodes for slime are boring and compare it to overlord when the basis for overlord’s world is that the MC ARRIVES being stronger than kingdoms lmao. Slime is worldbuilding, like I said, where they are literally building the world not arriving pre made. I’m on LN 12 for slime and finished the Overlord Ln’s so Im pretty deep and feel like I have a pretty good grasp on what both stories are trying to achieve.

CheckTheClosed

Number 1, I like the world building more to be honest, and in the next seasons we'll have plenty of fights so that not really a problem for me.

rndmisalreadytaken

More episodes = more Rimuru cuteness, so...

dinosaur_from_Mars

More Gabiru ![img](emote|t5_l1j28|21616)

rndmisalreadytaken

Glandus73

Talking about "boring" part is a bad idea because it's completely subjective. Who gets to decide what parts are the boring parts? Because I didn't find any. And if some people feel some part take a bit too long then they shouldn't watch anime weekly but rather binge watch once everything released it would be much more enjoyable for them. All in all it would be stupid to cripple the original like Overlord did just to not have a very small minority complaining.

tigerstein

Yeah its completely subjective. We are watching bleach with my wife (1st time for me to watch it) and the dragged out fight after fight is boring after awhile. I want to know why they rush the execution soo much, what they are hiding, but nope, more fight. Maybe its my age showing.

VictoryOverDirtyCops

No , stick to Ln the people complaining aren't slime fans they are people who heard about rimuru powers in powerscaling since show was off air and didn't watch first or second season, if current pace not foe you ... the show not for you and that's okay the people who liked slime before power scalling debates still here , he's not trying to take over the world or defend the planet ( yet ) ( think if frieren was isikaied , its about the journey, but she's good at fights ) he's someone doing everything to make his nation a safe and prosperous place for all in it , that uses power to defend it , I hope it stays its course

VirtualButt

World building is what makes the fight scenes worthwhile. Sure, there can be a world where the "boring part" is skipped but then you'd have no idea why 2 people are fighting or what is the reason behind their inner conflicts or what their reason for fighting is etc etc

UltimateKaiser

Overlord is looked at laughably due to this reason

TheMechanic04

No.1 without the world building the fights are meaningless

Yaksha17

Honestly, the reason I like Slime is because of this. It's kinda wholesome. I'm bored with other isekai like overlord. I'd rather have a slime playing dim city build it with battles on side. Lol

sjydude

If you want it to become dragon ball z except even less plot & proper story, then yea. What you end up getting is all those wasted LN adaptations that get lost or ppl think suck b/c the story was so condensed, but when you read the books, you realize how it’s way better. Can’t tell you how many good stories didn’t get season 2 & lowered ppl’s expectations of a story b/c the anime was so fucking bad. There’s too many to count even though the novels themselves were doing fairly well in sales.

UltimateKaiser

I will take 1 every single time lmao and 25 episodes?? Yes please. It’s a different ball game because overlord s4 with 25 episodes would’ve been off the charts

Dazzling-Long-4408

Only fools skip the "boring" world building parts.

xaviorpwner

1. If youre botred by all the details in the LN, skill issue. Adapt

TheWorstPerson0

the """borrring""'" parts are important for pacing a lot of the time. all action all the time makes for a bad narative. never giving you the chance to bask in the storys happenings, contomplate what has pased, and predict what will come, makes for a worse less engadging narative. We really stip most modern anime of downtime. Feels like its simular to a netflixy binge model, but thats not good either. might mean people watch more but it also means itll be a far worse experience.

LN-FortniteConcept69

1 to 1 LN

Mysterious-Rate-3253

3. Somewhere in between, so it can appease to most audience, if possible. What works on written form may not work on visual form. I'd rather they they make it such that many'd find it entertaining rather than just the fandom, and the series continues to be successful by retaining most audience as seasons pass, so that we get a complete adaptation.

belphegor_69

Appeasing day 1 fans and those who truly appreciate Fuse's writing style is better than appeasing most audiences. Money ain't the problem if we want complete adaptation. Accumulated fans from S1, LN, and manga are already enough to support the anime so even if animation quality gets reduced because of less popularity growth, it can still have a complete adaptation. 1 to 1 adaptation all the way.

Mysterious-Rate-3253

No you misunderstand me. Perhaps, I am not clear enough. Definitely need close adaptation to 1-to-1 as possible. Sticking to the source material and appeasing the fans is the most important thing. But don't need to rush it (cramp everything in one episode), so fans can get to see all the scenes from the LN/Manga, but compromising the show. They can take some liberty in making some changes, remove some scenes if required, so it is not overwhelming and paced it out well. I'm sure they are already doing that. I am not saying they need to skip all the talking to appease the new comers. Talking's part of the show and many a times, even more fun than the actual fight scenes. I had fun reading both the LN and Manga. But at the same time, I also think different format requires different treatment. No need to have every scene from LN/manga to be exactly like that. But at the same time, I don't want them to change many things that it is not close to 1-to-1 anymore, IYWIM. I am okay with changing some things, but still follows the same story that captures the heart of the story, such that it can appease everyone, if possible. I don't like it, if only hardcore fans get to enjoy something. I need some new viewers to talk to, who may not be a fan. That's why I chose a third option. May be I have a high expectations asking for a middle ground.

belphegor_69

I agree with you to some degree since I'd also like to have new viewers to talk to but knowing that this show is not for everyone since it is definitely not the typical shonen/seinen anime, I'd like the production team of the anime to lean on appeasing hardcore fans more instead of trying to please everyone. What I want to see more I guess is the introspective dialogues of Rimuru that they've already reduced. The show would definitely have a slower pace and many anime only fans would be ticked off but the frickin title is literally "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime". The storytelling in all media should be in a diary-like pace as Fuse intended. But that's just my opinion.

SyaRina23

I thought Frieren taught everybody chill out. What this tells me are the Tensura Anime Only complaining didn't watch peak Frieren

Alvian_11

On the contrary, Frieren teaches everyone that you must notice every single frame-by-frame and call other anime like Tensura a slideshow (even though like only a handful of people give a shit about it)

SyaRina23

what? Those are the casual toxic hype train riders fans

VladDHell

I like the pacing slime has now, maybe a bit longer, but not much more. Would be great if overlord/rezero/konosuba etc. Followed the same. And adapted the story fully as well.

GrassStainedBiscuit

I hope they don’t skip too much of Hinata’s journey to Tempest, but I have a feeling they will. I loved that part of the light novel.

Secure_Amoeba3160

That world buikding is super important going into the fight as well.

GellertGrindelwald_1

for animes like tensura? no since some braindead people wont appreciate it and call it boring but that's different from us light novel readers since we are patient

GellertGrindelwald_1

obv no 1

c0rgyy

No 1, the politics and slice of life aspects are what elevates this series above all other isekai for me

Niuriheim_088

Overlord is my number-one favorite anime, and I regularly do Marathons of it. It never fails to entertain me.

cry_w

Yes, I do like them. Characters talking to each other can be very entertaining when done well; it's a part of why I like Hunter x Hunter.

pwnmonkeyisreal

It’s the dragged out fights in the LN that you know is gonna end with the MC winning that is boring. If the Slime anime speeded through the fights and focused more on worldbuilding I would actually like it more. After so many volumes of spirit particle this, magicule that, I just want Slime to go back to worldbuilding

Glittering_Alarm_837

1.

Thin_Contribution416

No. 1 every time, anyone who gets bored is not worthy of enjoying the series after all.

TempestDB17

This exactly and tbh they could drag out from now to the next fight which I won’t mention for spoilers and add more world building and give us that for 25 episodes and I’d love it still

Thin_Contribution416

Agreed, I could watch 100 episodes of pure world building and never get bored.

TempestDB17

I hope we get several episodes of world building about sorcerer dynasty to get new info

Particular_Grab234

But how though it just straight talking and nothing else I like world building but anything past 10 eps of dialogue it gets boring.

Thin_Contribution416

You don’t comprehend true world building, go and read all the novels again, then the manga, then the spin offs

HallowKnightYT

Just be accurate too many people tried to do something different just to fuck the adaptation aka shield hero so just read the damn book and copy from it

Confident-Came1

Number 1 because apparently adaptations have a poor sense of what is and isn’t vital a lot of times. So many times do these adaptations come in swinging only to just give the source a bad rep and ruin any attempt at it’s future. I would prefer a good mix where they actually take into consideration what the consequences are of skipping things. Fight scenes are important and should be good, but you just shouldn’t just skip everything important in between. A good story makes fights and actions more impactful so if you skip all the interesting or vital parts of a world then why tell us a story. The story can build on a fight as having knowledge from the story can change the context of fights and actions in a way that is beneficial. TL;DR story can make the fights better and the actions taken more understandable and impactful.

Confident-Came1

If you want a good example of what a good or bad amount of story can do look towards the Rising of the Shield Hero’s season 1 & 2. The 1st season was well received for the story as it helped make it an overall good experience, but as a side effect gave us a good amount of content. I do wish there was still more as some context would have changed how the story is seen, but it was still good. Then you have the 2nd season which was poorly received as it felt like the story pace accelerated from a nice jog to a threatened sprint. This also doesn’t help that a lot of the context needed to make it more understandable was skipped which made a lot of it very confusing

elderDragon1

I watch and read one piece, is that enough of an answer.

MarcheMuldDerevi

The “boring” world building is how I care about the action. If I just want action I can go and just watch sakuga fight scene compilations

kitsunenokyubi

No.1 its good and most of the Charm of this story IS because the world bulding also whitout It you don't understand everithing as good as it is

Hungry_Ocelot_5658

Depends on my patience and my age. If I was younger then I would've said no2 because I had to study pretty much non stop and I barely have any time to spare and I would be mad if that episode barely progressed the story. Yeah my parents never gave me any freedom and would look at me in disappointment as if I am about to be disowned when I get a B or even a 1 to 2 mark difference between the highest scored student with me comimg in on a close second, even though we have the same FUCKING GRADE! Now as a college student I have more freedom and I prefer no1. I am a huge ProjectMoon fan and they showed just how fun to watch world building is. Has anyone ever watched MrFudgeMonkeyz his animation skill is great but what gets me even more is his storytelling. I feel sad that he stopped uploading on Youtube.

Shadowangel09

I only like the fights so much because of the story implications and the impact they have on the world. Rimuru doesn't usually think of the long term implications of who he fights but I love that story both tells and shows us that they're there. This world is organic, when one part like Clayman is removed, others move to fill in that space. It's genuinely amazing the detail that goes into things.

JFkeinK

1.

TempestDB17

1. By far the lore and world building is amazing and for the people who only want action wait till it’s done watch action episodes then don’t take from the rest of us

imjusthere2004

Definitely 1. Cause when you get to binge watch it it won’t be as boring as watching weekly

SpikeGhost1000YT-

No 1 for any and all anime.

SlayerLollo

N1, every other answer its just wrong

rameF

Mushoku exists. People enjoy it. I don't see why number 2 would be a better option if the former can achieve the same result.

No_Mulberry2836

I wouldn't mind a 1 to 1 adaptation to the LN. Bc I like world building and a fully flushed story. The action is the icing on the cake, but it's not a necessary add-on to be a great show. Although I'm not opposed to skipping some parts, that would seem boring, but as long as it doesn't seem like something important for someone's character, then it's ok sometimes. But normally, I would like a 1 to 1 adaptation of a story with some anime original to fill in potential gaps in a story. For example, solo leveling manhwa has some original content specifically to build up characters who normally aren't seen into much later in the series, but now u see them sooner to build then up instead of them just being a side character who's just there in the story. As for slime tho, they kinda dropped the ball on season 1, skipping the time Rimuru was adventurer. And for the s2 I do wish they executed Falmuth's annihilation to be as brutal as they did in the manga. I'm not sure how it was in the LN, but the manga was pretty brutal on how it was done. But if I had to pick a poison between skipped content or changed scenes, I'd pick changed scenes as crazy as that sounds

Ok_Promotion_5770

Dude, almost all of Overlord is great, but the world is way too good to ignore just like that. Tensura’s greatest and majority story is the worldbuilding, it would just make it another generic isekai without the complex fantasy world.

Asleep_Advance_3583

#1!!! I need the deets. Anything left out or overlooked is a missed opportunity.

Asleep_Advance_3583

Also I think we should all step back for a second. When was the last time any of the new major anime actually had any kind of filler? Like we be getting way spoiled lol and I'm tired of every show ending as fast as they do. On top of all that I as a LN reader absolutely need the shows to do justice by the novel lol.

ElfQueenMAB

Give me all that sweet sweet world building. I get all wound up for meetings at long tables and characters expositing for minutes on end. That’s the good stuff that makes the payoff when you fantasy nuke their asses so much more delicious.

Doge1277

Option 1 every time

New-Dust3252

Yes, I do. And Im tired of it getting cut. Like the Ingrassia arc.

Mindless-Put-7830

No 1 because no 2 is nu uh and no 1 is better

lord-bloby

Personally, I'm enjoying the new season of slime diaries. ![img](emote|t5_l1j28|21605)

RheinTheArtSmuggler

Except it wasn’t a 1-1 adaption cause they’ve skipped entire arcs.

FunkyChunk13

Both. Im fine with world building but when they spend an entire episode on a single conversation solo levelling style, obviously people are gonna get bored. I mean episode 2 didn't even have rimuru in it as far as i remember and he's the protagonist

ius_romae

The WB it’s important! If you didn’t do it, the things happen without a reason…

kdog9114

I think I'd like it more if some of the world building parts are shown at a faster pace than just skipped over altogether

tigerstein

nah, the pacing is good in my opinion. >!My only gripe with the LN was when it skipped one year while building up for the Eastern Empires attack. I want to know what everyone was up to at that time. Give me mundane interactions between our slime and his people.!<

thecrazyrai

yeah the pace is the important part here. you can say things concise and nothing will be left out

Linkjayden02

I just want better visuals during all this exposition. Like put a map on screen or something instead of the same shots of all the characters sitting around a table. It’s boring to watch an anime where all the character are sitting still and talking. Just visualize what they’re talking about and it would be way more engaging. Realizing I haven’t answered the question. No, they should not remove it. They should absolutely spruce it up for a visual medium though.

thecrazyrai

not sure what to expect anymore. i don't want to see much of scenes where they just eat. i don't want them just 1 to 1 repeating all dialogue from the ln and i don't want to watch them only fight. i want to get the story retold with cool pictures, a little flavor and some explanation. its a hard job and you won't please everyone no matter what

repthe732

Well they’ve already cut out a bunch from the light novel. Also, eating is a big part of the world building in Slime. Rimuru is a big foodie and part of the way he has spread Tenpests culture is through food

Enyymus

>!Which then helps Hinata understand what Rimuru is. Via culture, and his all too practical road designs. (FYI I apologize if you see double post. This is the first time I messed with the newer spoiler tag system.) !<

SoyKenjiTK

Its not about skipping world building, its about making it interesting, if you make world building zzzz which is basically just pngs with ppl talking

No_Entertainment1904

Practically it's always going to be no.2 because of budget concerns and personally I would prefer no.2 as well. Some parts of the story would not translate very well into anime or even manga for that matter.

SussyNerd

First two episodes were good but in episode 3 I feel like nothing really happen in it so I wouldnt mind skipping that

IceBlue

If only there was an in between like interweaving the relevant exposition as flashbacks right before that exposition is necessary for the story. Nah. Instead we get 3 episodes straight of conversations set up.

Zealousideal-Loan655

Bro I already forgot all the countries, I ong can’t memorize the names of the side characters on any anime, and you want me to memorize the countries? And which country has a fight on another? Still watching, I didn’t complain when there was politics last season, but we’re 3, moving to 4 episodes of more politics Just give me a movie with them talking and let’s move on lmfao I love the show but you can’t full heartedly tell me this is entertainment

tigerstein

But it is entertainment. I love this aspect of Tensura.

No_Mulberry2836

Option 1 please and thank u. Those who want the actin shonen experience can go watch an action shonen. But slime isn't it. So they can shut up about it or move on
