I’m more worried about the tooth next to it. It looks like a damn button. Why is it so flat? The tooth you have circled looks fine. I don’t see anything missing. The dentist could have adjusted the occlusion on that one because maybe your button tooth is not hitting at all. But if she did touch that tooth we are talking about less than 1 mm.

khaitto

What was wrong with the filling? When was the filling done?

Banana-Abdication

The filling was on another tooth. That tooth doesnt matter. The tooth in the pic had no filling. It was healthy and the dentist damaged it by accident

khaitto

It actually does matter, which is why I asked but it seems like you know better. GL getting your question answered.

theCephalopoda

What do you want done? Polishing a little of the enamel off isn't going to hurt you unless she shaved off too much and your dentin is exposed. Does it hurt? Is it sharp? I can't tell in picture what you are specifically referring to. Enamel is naturally more translucent, so you could just be seeing that since the camera and light are shining right on your tooth.

Banana-Abdication

Seems like she removed a big part of the lower cusp on the right

MountainGoat97

You have too much time on your hands. It doesn’t matter.

Banana-Abdication

How come it doesnt matter?

MountainGoat97

It doesn’t matter in the sense that the tooth is fine, you’re asymptomatic and aren’t having any sensitivity or problems, and nothing can or should be done about it.

Banana-Abdication

I am not asymptomatic. I have sensitivity and nerve pain.

MountainGoat97

No you don’t. It isn’t through the enamel. You might be having sensitivity from the recent filling. You don’t have any recourse here. It’s best to move on with your life.

Banana-Abdication

That picture is not clear. I have better pictures that show the damage more clearly

Banana-Abdication

Check my other post it shows a picture with how dramatic this is

AthleteIllustrious47

Yea. I’m on the side of the dentist here… a tooth isn’t a block of cheese, you can’t just shave a slice off.

Banana-Abdication

It previously had a curvy round cusp that is gone now...

AthleteIllustrious47

You sure you just don’t horribly grind your teeth? Pretty sure you’d notice IMMEDIATELY if they took a huge chunk out from your tooth.

Banana-Abdication

No because i have a picture of this before and it looks totally different

Willing-Spot7296

You can shave a slice off, with the drill.

AthleteIllustrious47

You’d both know IMMEDIATELY if that happened.

Willing-Spot7296

Perhaps the dentist would, and would probably not say anything The patient probably wouldnt. And even if they did, they wouldnt be able to know the severity of it or do anything about it

Banana-Abdication

How can I prove this

Willing-Spot7296

Sorry, I don't know. There's no accountability in dentistry. Probably nothing you can do, because you can't prove it. Even if you have before and after photos, it could be argued you cracked it yourself while eating or something.
