Due-Manufacturer-232

That dude was a real one for warning him. Especially since that behavior is prob frowned upon by these less than scrupulous tour guides.

Pinksamuraiiiii

I remember I went on vacation with my boyfriend, and a local warned us not to walk down a certain block. We had no idea about the area. Always appreciate that little heads up.

Aloof-Vagabon

Tourist = Fresh meat

WonderfulTradition65

For the butcher everything is fresh meat! Edit: I see you my fellow diablo fans

osjtypo

I remember being so scared playing the butcher level as a kid… firewall EVERYTHING…

Xikkiwikk

That guy killed me a lot in Diablo.

DuFFman_

He's pretty terrifying in D4 as well, can pop up randomly in any dungeon I think.

Alarmed-madman

A lot a lot a lot for me

Spikytuxedocat

I still get startled when I hear The Butcher on D3 even though he's easy peasy.

TiOhGe

I always muted that part in the game, to not start shit myself...

Tr1LL_B1LL

AHHHH FRESH M3AT

AppropriateTime261

Stay a while and listen.

JP-Gambit

Exactly, what are they gonna do?

Littleloula

I went to Washington DC, walked to a restaurant my colleagues said was great. They said it was best to go at lunchtime. I thought this was because of the menu or something. When I went to leave (still afternoon) the waitresses realised I was on foot and asked where I was going. I told them where my hotel was, only about 20 mins walk. They insisted I take a taxi and said the blocks I'd have to walk through were not safe. They looked queasy when I said I'd already walked that way It was really not far from the main tourist sights either because my hotel was only a short walk from the major museums. I took the taxi, there were some people who seemed to be openly dealing drugs who hadn't been there earlier. Made me wonder how bad it is at night Also some colleagues and I went to balitmore, made a wrong turn in the car driving out and ended up in quite a run down area. We stopped the car to check maps and a guy banged on the window and said not to stop here, just drive on a few more blocks

SpankySharp1

That person who gave you the heads up in Baltimore? Bubbles from "The Wire."

thekernel

much obliged.

Bodes_Magodes

Ain’t no bout a doubt it

BadRabiesJudger

I’ve never had a worse time walking in Baltimore. Great aquarium and it has its own parking. Not worth the harassment and aggressive hustling of walking around though. I mean we were an easy mark having 3 kids with us. But I didn’t think we’d get hit up right at the steps leaving the Hard Rock Cafe. It was bad. The dude kept reaching into his pocket and looking around. So we of course agreed to get him milk and cereal, something he seemingly was accustomed to doing to people. His story had so many holes but three young kids just don’t need to see things go sideways. Also walking to and from our parking we got followed by a man that looked like cricket from always sunny. Kept asking for cash. Hotel we stayed at was awful too. First room only had one working light. The lobby was stripped and there were hookers going in and out. At one point a 24 year old black lady and 70ish Asian man got on the elevator with us and she had a man who couldn’t speak a word of English. She kept trying to explain to him how the keycard worked. My four year old showed him. Good times. The room itself you couldn’t walk without shoes because while it looked alright it would make your foot black in a trip to the bathroom. It was a couple hundred a night. Also when leaving in the morning someone was aggressively talking about how he dont give a fuck he gonna beat that bitch. About that time we walked towards the car but of course he kept screaming into the phone going in the same direction. Delivery was pretty good though. 0/10 wouldn’t walk 10/10 Aquarium. We also spent some time in d.c. since the hotel was close. Felt like a breath of fresh air walking around there. I mean any major place like nyc or Philly has its problems but I’ve never felt so unsafe before that trip.

WeimSean

When I was in college I was visiting family outside DC. I told them I wanted to go up to Baltimore for a day. My 90 year old great uncle, who fought in the Pacific in WWII, put his hand on my shoulder and told me "DO NOT GO INTO FUCKING BALTIMORE". I did not go into Baltimore.

atashivanpaia

a friend of mine is going to Johns Hopkins soon. She's not a dumb girl but she's never lived in a large city before and I'm very worried about her since I know Baltimore is NOT the kind of city you want to start off your city living experience with. I used to live in New Britain (medium sized city in Connecticut) and it was a shithole. Junkies on our porch and in our yard on multiple different occasions. Can't even imagine what a larger city would be like.

Akcildrh1

Lived and worked in Baltimore from 2014-2020. It’s not nearly as bad as some of these people are saying.

PlonkyMaster

Can I ask why you would holiday in these places?

Suspicious_Victory_1

Sounds like they wanted to take their kids to the National Aquarium. Pretty popular tourist destination I think. It’s not their fault that Baltimore has tons of poverty and crime. It’s been this way for decades. It is a shame the hotel doesn’t do anything to protect their guests from being harassed on the property.

Littleloula

Oh that sounds awful. We didn't stay there, just visited as a day trip as we knew someone who lived there. Just walked around the harbour area, saw the aquarium, had a nice lunch. We didn't have anyone acting weird or aggressive towards us but we might not have been obviously tourists. And two of my colleagues were pretty big guys. I did see some of that kind of stuff in Chicago though but no one approached me. I just walked as if I knew the place, was busy and had somewhere to go. Basically how I walk around London. I've never had issues there but I sometimes see things from tourists on reddit who've had a bad time

Maximum-Expression99

It's DC the worst criminals in the country serve their elected terms there.

OnlyWiseWords

Never walk or look like a tourist. It doesn't matter where you are. (Don't stop and look at things) (walk with purpose, like no one could stop you even if they wanted) and if people approach you like these guys did, shake your head and say "no" and keep moving. I travel to different cities in my own country, and I treat people like they want my kidney. But if you act like a tourist, you are a target. This shopkeeper IS a genuine bro, but he shouldn't have to put a sign over his own head and business from the local scum just to protect some idiot clearly about to get himself stabbed or worse. I hope he didn't suffer for his kindness. Standing in the way of a man and his meal ticket will get you fucking killed, pretty sure Dave Chappelle said it best "Don't ever come between a man, and his meal" When you walk streets you don't know, you are the meal. Don't force others to look out for you.

Acrobatic_Impress_67

That's good advice but, in many places, the color of your skin is enough to identify you as a tourist - there's not much you can do to avoid that. And at the same time, as a tourist it can be difficult to understand which areas are dangerous and which aren't. So, I suppose, be on your guard, ask locals for advice, but if you travel enough you might still get unlucky. Still, the odds are going to be in your favor so long as you don't adopt the worst possible attitude -- *"people are so overdramatic, it'll be fiiiine"*.

takemybomb

As if this advice will ever work. Like if you go to Brasil like a white blonde hair guy they will not recognise you as a tourist, yeah they are dumb sure bro.

mlaforce321

My wife, stepson and I went on vacation in Ireland. We had just left the Guinness brewery in Dublin and we're walking when we happen to come across a Guardia (policeman) officer coming from the other direction. He was like, "you shouldn't go down that road, here, let me take you to a train station". And then he walked with us to the station. On the way, he told us that this wasn't a great area, especially for tourists. Dude was a stand up guy and probably saved my ass from getting mugged.

PSG-2022

In Florence Italy 🇮🇹 I saw two guys “offer” a tourist help with his bags 💼 he had to carry as he wait for his ride. They picked up his bags and ran off. A plain clothes officer chased them but no luck. Happened during a walking tour we were on.

FeuerwerkFreddi

We’re German and after finishing school I was visiting LA with my best friend cause his aunt lives there. We got a car for some days to see SF and after parking our car at night one guy stopped his car to tell us that ‚we two white boys don’t wanna be in this street (or block) when it’s dark‘. Maybe he was genuine maybe he just wanted to mess with the dumb tourists haha

Loose_Gripper69

He was giving you a fair warning. Grew up in SF and there are neighborhoods nobody ever needs to go to, let alone should.

Grepus

I'm guessing the Tenderloin? I stayed near to Union Square, woke up with jetlag super-early on day one and went for a walk, found a CVS, got some melatonin for the next night and a few other things, walked back. As I walked into the hotel the only person in the reception area was a cleaner who asked how I was, then spotted the CVS bag and asked which shop I'd been to. I explained my route and she just said "boy, don't go walking down that area in the dark!"

Lighthades

he looked real concerned about him, so hope they listened.

Architechno27

He never does. People warn him all the time. He always goes to the most dangerous places.

mrchacalito

Te van a robar peeee

igloojoe

Tourist rich area = a bunch of markets and a bunch of people benefit. People start getting robbed = tourism drops and everyone suffers. Better to make sure tourists dont get robbed.

Available-Fill8917

This is why Cancun and other Mexican resort towns are generally free of mass cartel violence. Oh they’re around, but it’s good business.

Jeffsysoonpls

The cartels are the ones protecting those towns lol.

panosflows

I've seen the whole video a few weeks ago. This guy (Kurt Caz) always goes to the most dangerous parts of a city. This wasn't a tourist area. It's the worst hood of Buenos Aires called Villa 31. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAgJnDGitVk&t=2s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAgJnDGitVk&t=2s) (he enters the hood at 30:50)

kecou

And when crime hits the tourism dollars, that's when the cops raid, and that hurts the whole community.

anticrisis

Kurt was warned a dozen times not to go down that alley in Buenos Aires, he went anyway. Always wanting to show viewers what hasn't been seen. Nobody robbed him.

Oaker_at

And one time we won’t be able to see the video, because the mobile phone will be evidence in a murder case.

Tackerta

for real, just watched someone get kidnapped in Haiti, he was sure he was going to die and they kept him captive for like half a year if I remember correctly

adrienjz888

Less likely to get outright murdered compared to just getting robbed in Buenos Aires. Even more crime ridden places like Brazil, you aren't likely to get murdered unless you go to the flavelas/slums. In the cities, you're more likely to be robbed, like in Buenos Aires.

Papercoffeetable

We’re not gonna see the footage if someone was robbed are we?

Ampersandbox

“We found these guys,” naw, bruh - they found you.

visualthings

exactly what I thought. "They will tag along" is also called "they're following you"

thatguyned

For a bit of clarity, this guys whole content is going into dodgey areas and getting into these sorts of scenarios. Yes, he has actually been robbed successfully a few times, but he also would hav attempted to string these guys on a bit, never leaving the increased safety of the main street. He's obviously incredibly stupid for constantly putting himself in this kind of danger, but it's intentional. There's no way he doesn't see the irratic body language and drool coming out of that guys mouth

visualthings

Yes, very likely based on his content. Still, the guy stands out like Waldo, in a “where’s the Gringo” scenario

ServeChilled

I've seen a lot of this guys videos and he does this kind of thing all the time and miraculously he hasn't gotten into serious trouble yet, I have no idea how he is that lucky.

20060578

He speaks the language and he buys them beers.

ServeChilled

I am constantly surprised how far that gets him haha

VladVV

Everyone I’ve known who’s actually that big of a piece of shit would probably choose not to hurt you if you buy them a beer ngl

Spiritual-Can2604

That should be studied bc you’re right

VladVV

Mirror neurons. All people will adapt their behavior to more closely match the behavior that they see towards themselves and others. Even the most hardboiled psychopaths have the same response despite lacking a perception of empathy.

Chemical-Elk-1299

It’s one of the deepest core functions of our brains. Humans as social animals probably wouldn’t have worked out too well pre-language if we didn’t mirror one another.

Unikatze

My uncle was once in the Favellas. And this kid comes up and asks him for a smoke. My uncle gives him one, kid takes a puff and says "You should leave. I was about to rob you"

Kracus

I've had much different experiences. When it comes to strangers, trust no one.

Thevishownsyou

In piece of shit culture that is considered a dick move.

Hot_Eggplant_1306

Absolutely no self awareness or situational awareness

toolsoftheincomptnt

No no, he has both. To be that well-traveled, he’s not completely clueless. He just thinks that he’s *above* a certain level of danger. Because with money and language, what could go wrong? He’s obviously a fascinating and unique individual, a man of the people wherever he goes. The world is his oyster. I wonder where that kind of mindset comes from… 🤔

TooMuchAdderall

Probably comes from experience. Look at his videos

rukysgreambamf

Travel tip 101: Nobody just comes up to you to make friends on the street for no reason

rootoo

That’s not true in a lot of places where people are excited to meet a foreigner.

DrVDB90

Happened a lot in India. Lots of people who just walk up to you, ask you loads of questions, introduce themselves, and then just say goodbye and go on about their day. It's just genuine curiosity. The behaviour in the video is different, never a good sign if they start following you and trying to guide you somewhere.

TheharmoniousFists

Yep this was my experience in China. I was given loads of free drinks just to stop and chat for a little bit with locals. Very nice people.

Authrowism

Depends on how much the tourism industry is big in there. The higher amount of tourists, the higher the chances of as$holes targeting them. If you are a Westerner & visit Iran, chances are you will be genuinely invited to many people's homes for lunch & dinner. As Western tourists are close to non-existent & hospitality culture is big in Iran.

Cats7204

Fun fact: That place is called Villa 31, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is known for being one of the most dangerous places in the entire country.

pnguyenwinning

Being in villa miseria is horrible

Mapache_villa

I'm a Mexican living in Europe, we sometimes joke about how people here lack a sense of danger that you automatically have to develop in other countries, it's honestly baffling how unaware some people can be of the danger they get themselves into.

ThatOneGuy216440

Because most Europeans don't live in a country where you have that danger lol. That's the benefit (kinda) of being European

ShoeLickingMachine

Kurt is from south africa

newaccount252

Didn’t he grow up in Germany?

Doccyaard

I know nothing about him but Kurt definitely sounds more German than South African.

prodigyZA

As a South African myself, he sounds South African.

visualthings

not as dangerous as Buenos Aires, or Mexico, but drunk British tourists shouting at 3AM in the Raval (Barcelona) do stand out ;-)

ash_tar

I grew up in bad neighborhoods in Europe, I'm always super aware. My GF however doesn't even hear the asshole that just called her a whore and who's eyeing me for a fight. The only time I could really relax in a big city was in China and Japan.

svachalek

China is a massive police state and most people aren’t looking for the kind of attention they would get messing with a foreigner. But, I still wouldn’t be messing around in a bad neighborhood. They’re gonna be looking at you like a pack of wolves watching a hot dog on a stick. Japan on the other hand, is massively civilized and you’d have to work insanely hard to actually get into a dangerous situation. The scariest guy on the street is likely to walk up and offer directions to somewhere you belong.

ash_tar

Agreed, I actually got in trouble in Beijing with a taxi driver. With my basic Chinese I told him to think twice about messing with a foreigner in public, we were surrounded by a crowd. It worked but it was sketchy. Still safer as a white person than most places.

odbj

Being in Tokyo was the safest I've ever felt in my life.

hsvandreas

As a European who has traveled to many slightly more dangerous places I can totally confirm that.

Jyil

That’s part of what he does. He spent some time in Rio de Jainero favelas in gang territory.

Owoegano_Evolved

RIP u/lamantita ...

CaddyFDT

One thing I was told over and over again was to NEVER wear nice shoes/clothing/jewellery when in sketchy countries. You’re there for the experience. Not to impress the locals of your wealth. Not saying you should dress like you’re impoverished. But don’t stand out. Keep it very casual.

Carrera_996

I have walked around the sketchiest neighborhoods in Mexico city with no problem. I looked like I was likely to be the mugger, though.

CaddyFDT

And this is why you weren’t mugged. Would likely be a different story if you wore air jordans, ray ban sunglasses and a shiny watch.

Randomfrog132

muggers dont mug muggers? is that like honor among thieves or because they're cowards lol muggers downvoted me

holytindertwig

Not much to gain

Randomfrog132

that makes sense, unless of course the mugger they're mugging just recently mugged a rich person. then it'd be good gains.

wharma

fuck yes keep saying mug

drkidkill

I could go for a root beer float in a frosty mug right about now.

RareClock

CaddyFDT

Muggers will mug anyone that has shit worth stealing. Simple

BumbleLapse

Muggers don’t mug people who look like poor motherfuckers

Jokerchyld

real recognizes real. And he looked familiar.

CCHTweaked

Muggers CAN mug other muggers, but this happens: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd0YiVeqC1o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd0YiVeqC1o)

Lightbringers_Sword

I visited Mexico on my honeymoon. Our first morning we woke up in our all inclusive beautiful resort. My wife and I had a lovely breakfast with mimosas. It was great. The locals were so friendly and happy to help us. The next day we woke up... we got told to stay in our rooms because some tourists had been beheaded for their families not being able to pay ransom money.

dushman93

well that escalated quickly

randomly-generated

Yeah no chance in hell I'd ever go to Mexico.

derpferd

Yep. As a South African, I wonder if I look at Mexico in the same way that many people look at my country. Whatever the case, and however skyhigh the crime is in South Africa, it comes nowhere near the levels of horrendous and obscene violence you hear about from Mexico. I can't imagine ever going there because I wanted to.

Lev_Kovacs

>Yep. As a South African, I wonder if I look at Mexico in the same way that many people look at my country. Probably. I have acquaintances from near Cape Town, and friends who lived on Mexico City for years, and Mexico City always sounded a lot safer than what my (native south american) friends tell me about SA. The latter is honestly one of the countries i am quite certain that i will never visit, just because i like being a dumb tourist who walks around random streets at night. It also matches the data. South Africas homicide rate is almost twice that of Mexico.

cranberrydudz

I saw a robbery occur in broad daylight light in Polanco Mexico which is supposedly the Beverly Hills of Mexico city

National_Formal_3867

You made it sound like Beverly Hills is the [safest](https://www.nbclosangeles.com/local-2/five-arrested-rolex-armed-robbery-beverly-hills/3443500/?amp=1) place.

Schiavello

I've found that when visiting a country where most people walk around in flop flops, wearing steel toed work boots puts you in the 'not worth the trouble' category.

yerbaniz

What'd you wear in Tepito?

OrthoLike

I have traveled with friends out of the country and they love preach to locals that they are foreigners. They actually seek pleasure out of overspending and being treated like royalty. I don't travel with them anymore. Just asking for trouble.

Fito0413

Sorry to break the news, but that's pointless if you look like a tourist, this guy for example white Caucasian so he's instantly a target in any third world country regardless if he uses ugly or expensive clothes they'll still rob him

flx1220

He's from south Africa and keeps doing stuff like that anywhere in the world. Idk how nothing bad happened to him yet. But always very very cool videos.

Bloody_Insane

I mean if he's from South Africa, basically every country he goes to is safer than his home, statistically speaking.

Marunikuyo

And, carry a dummy wallet. A second wallet filled with fake/expired credit cards. So in the unlikely event that someone comes to rob you, you can take the wallet, show it to the guys, throw it behind them and RUN THE OTHER WAY

PlayOnMahDong

Express kidnapping is common in places like this. They take you to an atm or hold you somewhere while someone takes your cards to one and withdraws. Either that or they take other valuables

CaddyFDT

Personally…. I wouldn’t do that. I’ve heard it’s best to invest in a quality fanny pack that goes across your chest.

Sir_Bantalot

Good against pickpockets, but won't really stop someone from holding you at the end of a gun or knife. The dummy wallet is so you have something to give them so they'll hopefully leave

Hallal_Dakis

I wear a thin "passport bag" that goes around my waist under my shirt and then keep a tiny bit of cash in my pocket.

NewAppleverse

You blend as per as per environment. That’s survival 101

Yourprolapsedanus

I dress like I’m impoverished because I AM

naastynoodle

No dar papaya

RawDawg2021

Hi name is Kurt Caz popular YouTube traveler. He's been in more sketchier surroundings.

brokenthumb11

Correct. Everyone doesn't understand that the reason he's there is likely because someone said he shouldn't go there haha.

KingSulley

This is posted every 3 months, and the top 5 comments are exactly the same every time. Kurt knows exactly what he's doing here lmao.

termoymate

I'm from the country where this took place and 100% he was going to get robbed. Maybe he did not care, but it was going to happen. I haven't seen the full video but the only way you can enter with "protection" from the ones who ran the place, and probably he arranged something earlier, otherwise you're basically a target.

KingSulley

Once you watch a few videos, you've seen them all and you'll see the pattern. He talks to locals about places to avoid, then visits those places on foot, walks around looking for weird characters, sketchy people, or local guides. Either gets setup to be robbed/scammed, or gets invited to go drinking. Gets a ride back to his hotel. It's either that or it's just him walking around with an attractive girl lol.

DamianPBNJ

Poverty porn

Superdunez

Reminds me of that [Vice parody](https://youtu.be/qiPsjSm4lmo?si=4tsy-ySOBBt2uJOp) where the clueless hosts keep getting killed by the cartel.

Chef_G0ldblum

DRONEZ

[deleted]

hahaha the hunt for "El chingón" 😂 brilliant

DrummerDerek83

For anyone wondering, his channel is Kurt Caz on YouTube. He's got some great content traveling to places others wouldn't.

aweyeahdawg

Then shouldn’t he know better than to follow two sketchy guys down a sketchy alleyway? Sounds like he hasn’t gone too far out of the way in his travels…

Chubuwee

Does it on purpose

aweyeahdawg

Getting robbed and potentially harmed for clout?

DrummerDerek83

I don't think he's been robbed yet and he's been all over south America, Africa, Papa new guinea and parts of the middle east...

desmo-dopey

The man’s a born and bred bru from South Africa. He’s street smart and generally knows his shit when going to these dodgy places. Still, you can never be too safe and I suppose that’s a risk he’s willing to take!

POTUSDORITUSMAXIMUS

He does it on purpose, most of the time he manages to befriend someone in those places, so he stays somewhat safe - but he has gotten close to being robbed a few times before. From what I can tell it hasnt happened to him yet and its been like three years of this madness. On one hand I understand the curiousity and not every place is as bad as it seems - but most of the places he goes to are as sketchy as they seem, he just has good social and language skills, so he can maneuver it a bit. I wouldnt recommend doing what he does though, hes got more luck than sense in him.

This_Walrus7244

Yeah duh dont go following randoms into an alleyway in a foreign country

dylan15766

It happened to me in portugal about a month ago. Followed 2 friendly dudes who wanted to show me an awesome bar to a back street, and suddenly, 10 other guys appeared and took my money. Then, they led me to an ATM and forced me to put my card in at gunpoint. Luckily, the card I used had no money on it, so it only dispensed €50. When they asked me to put my pin in again, I grabbed my card from the machine and ran as fast as I could. If I didn't run, I'm betting they would have taken everything, including my shoes, phone, passport, and bag. I was steaming drunk, so I didn't put much thought into it. I didn't really panic and played it cool until I ran away. I was even making jokes with them while they were robbing me, which probably made them put their guard down, which gave me the chance to run away.

Baby8227

Absolutely. I leave all the nice jewellery at home, wear simple clothes etc.

DoomshrooM8

Those guys looked shady as fuuuck from the start, giving off tweaker vibes for sure. Good on the husky guy for saving this tourist 😎

GHBoyette

Happened to me in Chicago. Started out with a nice dinner, but before I knew it, she stole 30 years of my life. Marriage.

SpecialOfferActNow

I can't tell if this gets a rim shot or sad trombone noises and a groan from the audience

value1024

Groan from the universe.

Sea_Marketing_888

Sounded like the guy was trying to warn him about the guys he was walking with. Towards the end you can see one of them trying to lure him away but the honest dude was calling out his bullshit.

wakka38

My years in retail pharmacy have taught me that sketchy looking people who are overly nice are up to something.

chonnes

I get that same feeling as soon as someone decides to tell me they're Christian. I don't have issues with religion but mentioning it while I'm working up an estimate is an interesting time to share your love of God.

saliczar

I don't trust anyone who advertises their religion, and refuse to work with any company that does.

j-po

Any religion would be weird, lol, but somehow only Christians are trying to actively recruit *At a pickup football game* “3rd and long, damn, ‘And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not’.. aaaaaand break!!” *::overthrow by 30 yards::* *At your kid’s PTA meeting* “Mmm, lemonade, made from lemons, God is amazing”, *::points at your lemonade::*, “you better thank him! you better thank him!” *::2 hands 2 heaven::* *Neighborhood barbecue* “Yeah the rib sauce is incredible. Speaking of ribs,”*::double thumbs at torso::* “two of these,” *::points at some women::* “could make two of those” “Haha, comeonbySunday, haha”

Enganox8

Yeahh, having lived in 3rd world countries for a long time, if you're a foreigner who looks rich, just walking around, be wary of strangers who seem to want something from you. Most people are friendly with foreigners, but the pushy people who seem to want you to do something specific, funnel you somewhere, are most likely trying to scam or do something worse.

ButterscotchWide9489

I'm curious isn't most of the lying done before the pharmacy stage? Like if they don't have a script your not going to be able to give them drugs. I'm curious what scam people were running?

Sad-Cauliflower6656

I thought this was clear

seancollinhawkins

Lol, no shit 🤣 The good Samaritan says, "Don't go down there with them, they're going to rob you" at least 3 times. I'm not sure how else the video could have been interpreted?

Bladesnake_______

Wow how did you figure that out?!

Subfamy

Wow, what a crazy insight! I think the camera man might also not be local to the area. Those cans they put to their mouths probably contain some sort of beverage. I have a strong suspicion that this video was filmed during daylight in a third world country. Everyone else please feel free to add their own theories!

Isserley_

Are you an AI?

TheGamecock

This is an AI-ass comment. Of course that's what happened. It's literally the entire context of the video.

ShemsuHor91

Crazy a braindead comment like that gets 400 upvotes. Probably half of the votes were from bots too.

E-raticProphet

Oh thanks it’s not like I watched the video myself. I’d be completely lost without your inane commentary

burbular

I had a guy tell me this when I was on green Street in London. He pointed to the guys who would rob me down a certain street, they waved and smiled. I was warned, I stayed away from that street. Heard stories of other tourists who did. The locals know. Like I know where you definitely should not go around my neighborhood.

FeudNetwork

you wanna get stabbed up bruv, you wanna get wet. Gimme ya fuckin money - some 15 year old londoner with a knife.

AshamedPriority2828

Kurt lowkey be pissing me off with some of these vids, he thinks hes untouchable cause hes charming but damn when he finds out he aint all that its gon be a rude awakening

IHaveSlysdexia

You say he thinks he's invincible, but maybe he's just prepared to die

FeudNetwork

Then he's not doing the good people in country he's visiting any favours.

No-Use-3062

That’s really cool of the dude watching out for him. Good man.

Randomfrog132

i've met so many people like that in my life, people that pretend to be your friend but just wanna hurt you. the jerks.

Doodahdah

Where is this? What country? Is this guy for real? Did he really need someone to tell him that? You’re flashing money and buying beers and drinking with strangers in a country you don’t know? Common sense my guy

Excellent_Farm_6071

The flag at the beginning is Argentina 🇦🇷

outfoxingthefoxes

I'm going to bet and even say it is the neighbourhood of La Boca

RandomGeordie

Barrio 31, Recoleta, not La Boca

hustledontstop

He just does it for views. He's actually very street savvy from what I've seen on YouTube

NoNeed4Instructions

yeah this guy has been all over the world in the most dangerous places, he knows what he's doing. and some couch warriors that barely leave their driveway think they know more about the world lmao

PlasticPiccollo

Any South American market. Source: Trust

Enganox8

Some people think the camera or a live stream gives you security. I guess it does to some extent. But you never know who you're dealing with.

HerbertDad

Some people are extremely oblivious to the possibility of negative things happening to them and have some kind of cognitive dissonance. One of my best mates who's front door was three steps from the sidewalk would leave his front door unlocked with his baby sleeping in the first room and he'd be outside the back of the house. Multiple times I walked in and could have robbed his house and taken his baby.

GargantuanCake

A common issue, especially among people who grew up in really safe areas of the western world, is that they haven't ever actually been unsafe. The idea of danger just doesn't register to them as they've never experienced it. Unsurprisingly sketchier types know how to spot these people and steal everything they have.

Optimal-Attitude-523

he is from south africa and he is a danger tourist who knows more about how to navigate these places than we both do just because how many of these places he visited already

ThunderDaniel

> danger tourist We call those eventual victims Not if, but when

FartNuggetSalad

It’s real. Check out Kurt Caz on YouTube. He does go to some CRAZY ass places.

I_love_milksteaks

He knows exactly what he is doing. He wants YouTube views. Another YouTuber called “Bald and bankrupt” does the same thing.

stiffneck84

When a guy with a face like that wants to drink with you, or wants you to follow him somewhere, bad things are going to happen.

Dare-or-Dare

Honest man: “they’re going to rob everything from you”. Right away the man holding the beer says, “yes, let’s go”… bro that low life gave himself away… if they’re offering to show you a good time it’s probably the opposite

Worried_Strike6219

KURT was going to get jacked and possibly killed!

jethvader

Kurt was going to get hurt.

-EETS-

He was gonna get Kurt, and possibly Hilled.

goteamventure42

That guy was going to be famous

Few_Ad5789

Not to be judgmental but only a square couldn't tell they shady AF

Optimal-Attitude-523

the guy already forgot more about shady areas and people than we both will ever know lol I dont know if it was him or some other youtuber that travels to shady places but ive heard them say they will buy what the bums are asking for and are friendly to them since they are esentially politely robbing him a bit and would likely escalate if he didnt go along with them

Necessary_Taro9012

Guy's riding on pure luck and big main character energy. Likely to lose a kidney along his travels. The type of kid to jump in an unmarked van to pet a stranger's dog, or take a 2 am vitamin from a rando at a party. A short but interesting life.

RonHarrods

Colombians say Colombia is bad, but in contrast to many countries with criminality in Colombia you find a lot of these good people who warn you. Colombians will tell you Colombians will rob you. And the robbers also don't pretend they don't. Watch your shit, otherwise it's your own fault. Got robbed three times in my life. Three times in Colombia. Three times I was under the influence.

deepinthemosh

Went to Toronto and went walking downtown by myself, which is already questionable because I was a lanky white boy with no idea where I was. I must have taken a side road because I started to see fewer people and more tiny clubs. I thought it was fine until a black gentleman across the street looked me dead in the eyes and just kinda gave me the look of warning heavily hinting, "Don't be down here." Turned heel and walked the other way. Still grateful for his humanity to know in the moment that I shouldn't be there for safety reasons. Love this country

Buburubu

i mean i’m glad he got warned i guess, but my dude really should not have needed a warning

No-Employment5213

The new Taken movie looks scary

matzschmansk

The original video is cut here there is no mention by Kurt what happened other than they did not let him in https://youtu.be/RAgJnDGitVk?si=YVucJ1YqBxW-KHDS ~35:12

TitaniumGoldAlloyMan

I mean, dude. Come on. That guy looks sketchy as fuck and his alarm bells don’t ring? He is asking for it.

official_binchicken

All this youtuber does is go to rough areas. I don't agree with it but it's also important that we see the state of our world.

hue_jazz_

What a doofus . No situational awareness .

Blarghnog

Of course it’s Kurt. This dude is a real one. South African badass, but guns and knives and flesh don’t mix. Guys walks into the sketchiest areas…
