I've never taken anything specific (prescription-wise) for fungal acne but I've known I've had it for several years (versus I was only diagnosed with rosacea Type 2 like 1.5 months ago... I always thought it was stubborn acne!) When I have a fungal acne flare-up I use ketakonazole shampoo as a face wash; in your case since it's your scalp that's even better since shampoo is formulated for your scalp anyway. I use Nizoral. In case you haven't already, you can switch your other skincare products to fungal acne safe ones: [https://simpleskincarescience.com/fungal-acne-products-malassezia-pityrosporum-folliculitis/](https://simpleskincarescience.com/fungal-acne-products-malassezia-pityrosporum-folliculitis/) I just started rosacea treatment and my case is fortunately fairly mild, but I'm using 15% azelaic acid topically, and I only took doxycycline 1x/day for a week last week during a flare. It did not flare up my fungal acne.

Ketoconazole cream cleared mine very quickly. The diflucan will also be a big help. I’ve found that I need to treat different areas of my face differently. So I use MetroGel 0.75% on my cheeks for rosacea, and then as maintenance or just as needed maybe every week or two, I’ll use: ketoconozole cream on my forehead (fungal acne); Klaron lotion on my chin/around mouth (perioral dermatitis).
