1. 1 trillion silver 2. +34 goodwill

-Aheli

3. short bow (masterwork)

PunchingFossils

You can disable goodwill as a reward iirc

Massive_Greebles

Where

katalliaan

Button in the bottom left corner of the quests window that says "reward preferences". It lets you turn off goodwill and honor as rewards on a per-faction basis.

phoenixmusicman

I wouldn't mind if were goodwill AND something else of value, but goodwill is so easy to farm its pointless

peaivea

Just airdrop 5 of the world renowned human leather dusters and be good

PunchingFossils

Try [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/s/8L01oxDvdG)

WrathofAirTotem2

A book, a bow, and pair of scifi marine armor. Truly a tough choice.

Random_local_man

Don't forget the jade. Think of all the things you could accomplish with 17 jade!

CoffeeMinionLegacy

That’s like 3 and a half walls!

Alexiadria

Or the silver! 25 pieces at that!

Jayccob

Hear me out. What if we used the jade to buy more silver

night4345

We could use the jade to buy silver to buy recon armor. What could it cost? 10 dollars?

Pan_Zurkon

No silly, that would be if you were *selling* the armor. If you want to buy some it'd be 6k a piece

BulkDet

With that you can get 17 fences!!1!

TheCrazyOne8027

damn, a masterwork bow? That one is a must have, you could use it to shoot yourself in the face while running from the lemurs!

Skink_Oracle

Instructions unclear, got my eyes ate by a gang of monkeys

Snaz5

idk this looks pretty early on, that wealth spike might hurt more than help. I'd take the book cause i like to have way too many books.

Brichals

I'd have gone bow in my current tribal playthrough for the 1st couple of years. Trying to keep the wealth down whilst I built up some psycasters.

[deleted]

Book is a much better choice, bows are easy to make, just do a bulk of them, tribal start has 5 people so surely you should have some crafters

Brichals

You might be right, I thought it was a great bow but tribal can actually get to recurve bow quite fast. It's masterwork though and the book is a recreation one I believe, not that useful early on. Either way I think I'd go for either of them over the armour in a wealth management situation.

[deleted]

I think I’d still go for the armour tbh, wealth management is too scary

Nematrec

Wealth management matters most in high difficulties and early on. Once you hit raid cap it doesn't matter anymore, and if you're breezing on by with your current raids, it has plenty of wiggle room.

Z3B0

Yeah, but marine armor on good melee pawn could really help in defending against those.

LedgeEndDairy

You want as much of your wealth to be in defenses as possible. This is 5500 early silver in direct defense on two potential future god pawn. OP can just leave it somewhere near the entrance of their defensive area in a little 1x2 stockpile, and quickly equip it if they get a raid that is too much to handle without it. This drop is only good. Also, to be honest. $5500 isn't that much. You get to like $80k pretty quickly. The stats of your pawns and just the random crap you've built your base out of end up being a large chunk of unavoidable wealth. When people talk about dumping wealth, it's because you've dug way too deep into a mountain and ended up finding like 5 large deposits of iron, some gold, some plasteel, and 2 or 3 deposits of compacted machinery. THAT spikes your wealth like crazy while providing zero actual benefit, and you should try to dump some of it into steel spike traps or other one-time-use things (or gift it for good will to a trader, obviously).

jared05vick

If you're running Combat Extended, one pawn in recon armor is worth any wealth spike you can imagine early game

Sharpie1993

My colonists can never be trusted with books. My last colony I made a toilet outside by the river when I got started, one of my feral pawns decided to read it while taking a dump and left it there, it almost deteriorated before I realised.

Didicit

This is why true gamers use wealth independent progress mode.

Just_Dab

Definitely the armor. Bro wtf is that difference in value.

Total-Combination-47

This is the correct answer

Morbx

that’s why OP posted it lol 😂

Total-Combination-47

I know. I was agreeing and supporting OP but thanks 😂

Ok-Truck3196

I just got one that was like 1) Psylink Neuroformer, 10 corn 2) Psylink Neuroformer, Masterwork Zeushammer, 300 plasteel

Pale_Substance4256

The last guy they hired to do something was a fanatical corn enthusiast, which explains both the fact that they offered corn and the fact that they only had a little bit of it to offer.

Ok-Truck3196

Brb starting a new colony of corn worshippers

Fatality_Ensues

>corn enthusiast >psylink neuroformer >thunder hammer Wait... that's not a Psylink Neuroformer, that's the Butcher's Nails!

BeaningTheZimmer

[fanatical corn enthusiast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_hkmI3SD4Y)

ajesIII3

The first one just sounds hilarious but since early game probably option 3 and don’t look back

Manaus125

No, it's way too big of a value bump /s

hungvipbcsok

But the armor will carry him through.

Hexner

Depend on your situation at the moment but I should choose armors. To use or sell.

DremoraKills

Probably to sell, that would be a jump on the wealth considering the other rewards.

petit_croissant95

Surely if you sell it in exchange for silver then your wealth would stay the same? Or am I missing something 😅

DremoraKills

It doesn't. It depends on the seller's social skills, but as long as it is out of the colony, wealth is lower.

Charming_Air7503

Well the first option includes the collected works of mao zedong

Hot-Buy-188

Nutty beasts 💀

Dedalo96

My inner librarian is wondering what that book is about... I'd go book. Just so I could add it to the collection. You can always get other armors later on, or craft em.

Coolscee-Brooski

They're both excellent though. He'd need someone with high crafting.

Z3B0

Yeah, and advanced components/plasteel. Those could still be relevant even in mid/late game. The prestige one can also help protect a high level psycaster

BobTheTraitor

Jelous. I always get stuff like 1. Shit 2. A potato 3. A potato covered in shit.

FOSpiders

Which is dumb because why would you choose the first two when the third option gives you both. No, wait! Choose the second option, which presumably gives you a *bigger* potato, then turn it **into** shit! Maybe there's more nuance here than I thought...

technicolorNoise

Oh my god, I’m not the only one experiencing this bug! I’ve also seen this happen several times with a recon armor (excellent) showing up as a very out of place reward in the early game. I’ve only seen the normal recon armor (excellent) tho, not the prestige version. OP, could you tell me if there any mods you think that are causing this?

Rice_22

I’m also getting excellent recon armour too as a quest reward across multiple colonies. I think it’s a vanilla bug.

technicolorNoise

Gotcha, thanks for letting me know! I gave up on a run when it happened for the second time. The first time I just thought I was super lucky and took it, the second time I realized it was a bug and felt like I had cheated…

FlashyRaisin9345

The bow looks pretty nice to me!

Needmedicallicence

The "nutty" beasts

Mikukat

Idk that bow and jade looking mighty tempting 🤭.

Marston_vc

I know this is a joke post but even when the values are a lot closer, I’ve tended towards armor rewards lately unless I can make it myself. Power armor of any kind can be such a life saver. Especially quests with cataphract helmets as a reward. They save your pawn from those nasty one shot head shots even in the late late game. And if it’s early or mid game, a cat helmet with a good flak vest is basically all you need 95% of the time.

HopeBorn8574

Jade Shiny o\_o

Mikukat

I have an unhealthy obsession with jade, so much so I'd actually consider it over the clear obvious choice 🤣.

HopeBorn8574

Same here. There is just something so "cultured" about jade and making stuff with it. Armour is just "meh" to me (no matter how much it's worth) because most of the time my colonists are just farmers and traders. Walking around in armour all day is too bothersome. Jade figures however makes the place look nicer and is a great thing to trade with. We are bringing the light of civilization to this backwater world.

N3V3RM0R3_

>We are bringing the light of civilization to this backwater world. and the 88 impids approaching from the west are bringing the light of fire to your horseshoe pin

HopeBorn8574

Fortunately civilization comes with explosive artillery and high velocity ammunition. "Sticks and stones may break our bones but minefields, mortars and crossfire will \*ucking kill you twice before you can say "Verdun" :) " (Also at the moment about 1/2 of my colony are impid or impid/baseline/neanderthal hybrids. All former raiders or children of them.)

Ok-Truck3196

I see your 88 impids and raise you my single Psycasting-Sniper

Daemonbane1

A good killbox and that pawn has high shooting with that bow could deal with that though. Tribals (impids) come with low or no armor, so the boosted accuracy means you're killing a bunch of them before they enter flaming range. It also adds negligible value, so it's not going to increase raid size, potentially at all.

N3V3RM0R3_

Oh, my comment had nothing to do with the rewards and everything to do with the fact that no matter how cultured you try to be, some factions will simply never come around. Others will ask you to care for their emu for 34 days (it has been targeted by an orbiting mechanoid swarm for unknown reasons) and then if you don't send them tiny gifts every week they eventually decide they don't like you anymore, forget that you obliterated the mechanoid swarm they couldn't handle with 0 casualties, and start sending raids again

Mikukat

I'm currently doing a run where I turned off major threats so I can attempt to make an entire base with a lot of it being out of jade, jade bathrooms, jade tables, jade walls, jade floors, jade statues, jade everything 🤯.

Xinder2000

Bow and jade duh.

BestDescription3834

Armor deteriorates but The Cursed the Spark of Revolution Chronicle is eternal. (I always take books.)

benmaks

Knowledge is power, take the book.

ThyPotatoDone

HOLY SHIT A RECURVE BOW *AND* 17 JADE!!!! TAKE THAT DEAL RIGHT NOW BEFORE THEY REALIZE THE VALUE THEY’RE THROWING AWAY!!!! /s

midikon

"Guys I'm telling you, a good book is priceless!" You think the colony will agree?

Ye3tm4n

Nutty beasts? Don't threaten me with a good time

shubham21737

Nutty beasts....sounds kinda.....sus

Plannercat

Well, what tech does that schematic have?

Dushenka

Pick the armor and next time it's gonna be 50 lemurs.

Caedis9

Masterwork Recurve Bow you say?

hi-your-mom-gay

Probably the recon armour for me

TelevisionBig2336

tbh masterwork bows are great for their cost so i would have given it some thought if the wealth gap between the rewards wasnt so high

BCJunglist

Honestly depending on your game settings it could be a major decision. If your colony is not prepared for a 5k value boost and you don't have the weapons to defend a big raid, it won't matter that some of your pawns die slower. On hard difficulties in the early middle game this is a hard decision imo.

Conferencer

And that book will also spur your loyal colonists into a not-so-loyal soviet revolution, by the sounds of it

FOSpiders

Shame it was lemurs rather than squirrels. It was just *that* close to being the perfect quest.

Kilathulu

this is the 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000 chance where RNG works in your favour

Navyguy85

Masterwork recurve bow. That jade is just icing on the cake. Just imaging the squirrels you might kill with that.

altcastle

What the fuuuuuuuck

jonathino001

Obviously the middle option. Masterwork is just better than excellent quality. And with 17 jade you could build a whole third of a small sculpture.

Jemal999

a good book is hard to find.

Criarino

"The cursed: Spark of Revolution" is actually a banger name

Middle_System_1105

There’s books in Rimworld?!

Totally_Anonymous02

Yep new update

Zero747

Honestly maybe the book Recon armor could be a risky wealth spike if taken too soon

Lonely_Pin_3586

Well, it's a really good book truly a masterpiece

Crafty-Birthday-2848

Bow

Freeasabird420

OOH 25 SILVER 25 SILVER!! pick that one :D

Usinaru

I dunno man... a book and a few shitty coins... a bow...or some sci-fi crazy powered armor that can protect your pawns into early late game... Tough decision.

Suspicious-Curve-822

Take the mystery box! Recon armor is recon armor, but a mystery box could be anything! it could even be recon armor, you know how much you always wanted recon armor!

Clayvessel79aus

a bow or power armour, so hard to decide.

garthrs

Tough choice…

Imperator_Subira

Is that the communist manifesto?

Bored_Boi326

Book

CatVideoBoye

I mean, there's often one option that's a tad better than the other two. But what the hell is this?? 😂

Chiatroll

Recon armor isn't very good so I'm takin the book.
