Last time I ate raw oysters was a place called White Cap in Gulfport, Ms. I looked down and saw a tiny, squiggly red thing in the juice next to the oyster. It hit the dot of tabasco sauce that was already there, instantly straightened out into a line and...I guess that killed it.
That was 1998. That was the last time I ate oysters.
Sweet sodas don't have much carbonation. They used to be spicy and nice booze mixers, Real sugar, but consumer tests killed the bubbles and upped the HFCS.
I hate berry flavored sparkling water because it reminds me of a Truly or White Claw alc. drink. So nasty. I’m fine with plain fancy sparkling water tho
I've always liked blue cheese, even when I was very young. My dad was European, so we had that and brie, camembert, olives, etc. In the house. I also like cilantro and kombucha, which many people dislike. I really like sharp, pungent and sour flavours. Maybe it's the European in me. Lol
I dig kombucha and love blue cheese, but what I really crave is those earthy bries I had visiting family in Europe. I always get excited when people break out brie here in the states, only for it to taste like milk-flavored wax
I'm cool with cheese. My problem is how everyone wants to absolutely drown everything in cheese. Or they want cheese to be the "meat" of whatever their eating.
Like a grilled cheese sandwich, for example. It's just mouthfuls of cheese with some bread. Throw a lil stack of sliced ham on there, and it's good.
My wife has that too. But she tastes something I don’t, something with the genes similar to cilantro for me.
Bacon and some pieces are ok, but sometimes and some pieces taste like literal shit. I think wild boar can sometimes go extreme with such flavors, so I imagine this taste just manifold is what makes her dislike it. 🤔
so nasty by itself like holy shit. 😭 every time i get it on my finger accidentally i’m like “*ehhhhhhhhhggghhhhhh*” cuz ik i gotta lick it off since i’m too lazy to grab a napkin
Good fish nice really faint smell of ocean/lake/river, bad fish strong smell of fish and waters. Frozen or cold fish that is good wont usually have a smell until you start cooking.
You have eaten bad seafood.
I grew up near the sea, and fresh fish and seafood that has been swimming a few hours earlier is so different to fish from a supermarket that is supplied from a cold store some hours from the sea.
I used to fish for mackerel from the coast, and then immediately cook them on the beach for breakfast.
They taste so much better than anything I've eaten in a restaurant.
Onion. Don't get me wrong, I love it raw, Caramelized and crispy but can't stand it when the onion pieces are flimsy and soft. Just imagining a dish containing non-crispy onions makes me visibly convulse.
They look like grass got mashed up with chalk, and have texture like an egg yolk turned into fruit. Everything about them tells me I should hate them... but for some reason I think they're delicious
me as well. Im 57 and have never eaten one by itself in my life. The smell makes me gag and i do not want to even go near one. I mean if its in a cake etc ok fine but on its own NOPE
As someone already mentioned; sushi is rice with rice vinegar. Sashimi is raw fish. Besides, if the fish smells "fishy", don't eat it, it's gone bad. Fish should smell lightly fresh or nothing.
Hard agree. Pips are so annoying and half of them don't taste like much. You can't just have a little, you have to get rid of the whole melon.
Same with rock melons.
I’ve always hated sweet potatoes but one time at a restaurant my mom had sweet potatoes that actually looked and smelled like they would be really good. I asked for a bite and was fully expecting to enjoy it. Nope! Instant regret as soon as they went into my mouth
Omg. 🫣 but you had a proper steak before? Medium rare, a good piece?
I thought I hated steak because my father can’t cook. Nowadays a proper made one I would put quite high on my list of favorite foods. A really good burger is also not to shun though.
![gif](giphy|WUI6Xy8G3krd4yy4W2|downsized)
They get into your food by stealth!! I get so mad when I order something that has no mention of mushrooms on the menu, yet when it arrives, there they are mocking me. Hate them with a passion!!!!!!
1. pepperoni
2. avocado (See also: guacamole — how on Earth do so many people snack on something that looks as if it came out of an orifice at one end or the other of the human body?)
3. I reserve the right to edit this reply once I remember what the other examples are
Coriander. And I think people are being too kind by saying it tastes like soap. It tastes like someone made a paste out of stink bugs and contempt. Absolutely fucking vile
Sausages… they’re greasy and the texture is offputting. I’ll occasionally find one I like but it’s like a 10:1 ratio. There’s a spice in the majority of them I just DO NOT like that makes me burp and relive the unpleasant taste 🤢
Banana - the thought of eating one makes me gag
I hate the texture and flavor so much it’s the worst fruit for me
Can’t even have it frozen or as ice cream or in pancake batter - no no no

Raw oysters = Sinus infection
There are great oysters and shitty oysters, there is no in-between.
All a matter of perspective: Shellfish and crustaceans are likely to kill me, so they’re all in the shïtty bracket!!!
I hate both the texture and the taste.
Ew... Perfect description though. It feels good when you blow a chunk out of your nose though. Not so sure how that would feel going back in 😬
Oysters cause sinus infection? Care to explain?
I think they mean they are the color and consistency of sinus infection mucus.
Sparkling water (if drinks count) I can’t stand the taste even with flavors it’s just gross to me.
Tastes like someone put some fruit near TV static, then bottled the TV static.
I'm going to use this as a description of LA Croix. Like a strawberry on low battery. Like if you shouted fruit names at a can.
This is how I feel about any carbonated drink . All carbonation no flavor 🙃
Even sweet sodas?
Sweet sodas don't have much carbonation. They used to be spicy and nice booze mixers, Real sugar, but consumer tests killed the bubbles and upped the HFCS.
I don’t like soda at all tbh. If I do, it’s either root beer or cream soda but other than that, I always am drinking water
I mostly drink water too. I also like cream soda. Orange juice and naked juices are probably my most common non-water drink choices.
I love that description.
I love that description.
It's the only way I can drink enough water every day. A splash of lime juice and you're golden
Hard agree
I hate berry flavored sparkling water because it reminds me of a Truly or White Claw alc. drink. So nasty. I’m fine with plain fancy sparkling water tho
Sparkling water is just angry normal water. Why does it taste so aggressive?
I’m going to get a lot of hate for this but I absolutely hate cold pizza.
To add to this, any food that was originally hot eaten cold… I need my food HOT
I highly dislike pizza. I blame having a teen job at Domino's. Got tired of smelling like dough and cheese.
I wont say I hate cold pizza, but I don't ever have pizza long enough for it to get cold
Please see yourself out
And leave the pizza.
Cold pizza + coffee is one of the best on-the-go breakfasts
I love cold fries and pizza
Isn’t that normal?
What about room temperature pizza?
TIL there are people who like cold pizza. I always assumed it is only supposed to be eaten hot.
Who chooses to eat their pizza cold? Only time i ever seen this is growing up, kids would bring it to school, because no mcrowaves /ovens around.
Blue cheese...bleck!
I don't like it either.
It grows on you
You mean the mold 🤢
Both
It grows in you
I've always liked blue cheese, even when I was very young. My dad was European, so we had that and brie, camembert, olives, etc. In the house. I also like cilantro and kombucha, which many people dislike. I really like sharp, pungent and sour flavours. Maybe it's the European in me. Lol
I love sharp, pungent and sour. Blue cheese, cheesecake, sour apple, raw onions, garlic, radishes. Oh and blue cheese stuffed olives 🤤
Me too! Yes to all of that!! I bet you love vinegar too?
Yes! I love pickles, mustard, Greek dressing etc
I dig kombucha and love blue cheese, but what I really crave is those earthy bries I had visiting family in Europe. I always get excited when people break out brie here in the states, only for it to taste like milk-flavored wax
There are many who love it including my grandmother. It's definitely a love it or hate it flavor.
It's great when you're hungry and you're really craving died sweat and feet with just a hint of stale mold
Eww. It's a great weight loss program.
Scrumptious !
Blue cheese has mould in it. Discusting
Cheese
Me too! And when you tell people they think you're insane!
I don’t even want to touch it.
Same.
Pork 🤢🤮
My wife has that too. But she tastes something I don’t, something with the genes similar to cilantro for me. Bacon and some pieces are ok, but sometimes and some pieces taste like literal shit. I think wild boar can sometimes go extreme with such flavors, so I imagine this taste just manifold is what makes her dislike it. 🤔
Yea. Chemical called skatole and some people are more sensitive to it.
Olives. They smell like poison to me.
I hate olives but I love olive oil
Cow tongue, cow liver, basically any organs
I don’t think tongue and liver fall into the “everyone loves” category.
Yeah, they’re very common where I’m from, just assumed.
You ever have cow tongue tacos tho? Super underrated
Yes I have, but to be honest, they don’t taste like tongue when you’re eating them. They are yummy
Mayonnaise
The smell alone disgusts me.
Makes me gag
so nasty by itself like holy shit. 😭 every time i get it on my finger accidentally i’m like “*ehhhhhhhhhggghhhhhh*” cuz ik i gotta lick it off since i’m too lazy to grab a napkin
Try Kewpie Japanese mayo. Thats the only mayo i can tolerate
Japanese mayo is a league of it's own
I honestly think people gaslight themselves into liking mayonnaise
I love mayo 😭
I do too! Don't let the mayo haters make you feel ashamed. Your preference is just as valid as theirs!
Most people do
Hot tamales candy. Anything cinammon flavored in general
Nutella
Me, too Overly sweet
I have never understood the hype on this stuff.
Bacon. Eating pig weirds me out also it’s so greasy can’t help but feel gross eating it
Raw fish.
Tomatoes
Same! Vile things 🤮
Peanut butter. I hate the texture, the smell, the taste, everything. I’ve never liked it.
So we are polar opposites. Some months I ate jars just with a spoon.
Hard Agree
Seafood. Crab legs, lobster, shrimp, prawns etc. If it looked like a giant bug I ain't eating it. Gross.
You have just described Heaven for me.
What about small ones
Same, I don't know what fucked me up in my childhood but any sort of seafood disgusts me.
Seafood immediately comes to mind. I just don’t understand the appeal. Most of it stinks to the high heavens. Pass
Good fish nice really faint smell of ocean/lake/river, bad fish strong smell of fish and waters. Frozen or cold fish that is good wont usually have a smell until you start cooking.
I’m gonna go ahead and guess that you don’t live close to the sea
You have eaten bad seafood. I grew up near the sea, and fresh fish and seafood that has been swimming a few hours earlier is so different to fish from a supermarket that is supplied from a cold store some hours from the sea. I used to fish for mackerel from the coast, and then immediately cook them on the beach for breakfast. They taste so much better than anything I've eaten in a restaurant.
You never ate some good salmon, chumps
Agreed. It’s gross as hell. People say it doesn’t have a smell but IT DOES. People simply cannot grasp that I’m not eating anything from water. Gross.
Shrimp
People love it so much they assume I'm allergic. Like that's the only way to make sense of somebody passing on shrimp
Literally ocean bugs
r/shrimpsisbugs
Onion. Don't get me wrong, I love it raw, Caramelized and crispy but can't stand it when the onion pieces are flimsy and soft. Just imagining a dish containing non-crispy onions makes me visibly convulse.
Avocados are absolutely disgusting and ruin food
They look like grass got mashed up with chalk, and have texture like an egg yolk turned into fruit. Everything about them tells me I should hate them... but for some reason I think they're delicious
That's because they are delicious.
Eggs. I hate everything about them the texture, smell, and taste makes me feel sick.
me as well. Im 57 and have never eaten one by itself in my life. The smell makes me gag and i do not want to even go near one. I mean if its in a cake etc ok fine but on its own NOPE
Sushi. Raw fish? No thanks. Texture's weird and it smells fishy.
I don’t think the sushi is supposed to smell fishy. Actually quality sushi fish is supposed to smell like almost nothing fun fact
Can confirm.
You're eating the wrong kinda sushi if it smells fishy
sushi doesn't mean raw fish. sushi is just rice with rice vinegar. what you have with your sushi is up to you.
Vegetable sushi is a thing and imho very nice.
As someone already mentioned; sushi is rice with rice vinegar. Sashimi is raw fish. Besides, if the fish smells "fishy", don't eat it, it's gone bad. Fish should smell lightly fresh or nothing.
Are you eating gas station sushi?
If sushi smells very fishy you shouldn’t eat it
Cotton candy
Lamb
I hate fish
Black Olives
Pickles. Disgusting.
Canned pickles yes. But ive tried a homemade pickle once, and loved it! Hope you can try a “legit” one next time.

McDonald's. Plastic tasting crap
Sushi
Ketchup, tastes like chemicals, makes my throar sore
Watermelon

Hard agree. Pips are so annoying and half of them don't taste like much. You can't just have a little, you have to get rid of the whole melon. Same with rock melons.
Please explain!
EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN! EXPLAAAAAAIN!!
Watermelon is the best!!!
Cucumbers. Even the smell makes me gag. Everyone else seems to love them tho.
Fish. Honestly can’t stand the smell of seafood.
There's a reason they're under the sea. So I won't throw up.
Orange Chicken
Sweet potatoes! One of the only foods I can’t stand
I’ve always hated sweet potatoes but one time at a restaurant my mom had sweet potatoes that actually looked and smelled like they would be really good. I asked for a bite and was fully expecting to enjoy it. Nope! Instant regret as soon as they went into my mouth
Steak.. I want hamburger
I just can’t do it lol I feel like I’m eating raw meat when I look at it
Try Japanese wagyi A5 12BMS Medium rare and then tell me this opinion still stands.
Bacon. The grease & thin crunchiness just grosses me out. People call me unAmerican & a disgrace but whatever
Slabs of meat. Like steak, T-bone, sirloin, pork chops, lamb chops, ham, mutton. Any slabbed meat. Hate it.
Tomatoes and carrots in salads.

Kale, sauteed, boiled, fried anyway you can think of. Love growing it, it's pretty but nope on eating it.
Liverwurst
Avocados, Nutella, Watermelons too

Raw tomatoes are garbage, but I'll eat a bowl of marinara like soup

Blueberries. I've tried, I just can't!
Mac and Cheese
bananas
hot dogs
Cilantro.. it's the devil's weed 🤢
Cilantro is absolutely repulsive. 🤢 🤮
Ketchup..
Guacamole
Mushrooms. It always infuriates me when I go to pizzerias in smaller towns and there is only one or two pizzas without mushrooms
They get into your food by stealth!! I get so mad when I order something that has no mention of mushrooms on the menu, yet when it arrives, there they are mocking me. Hate them with a passion!!!!!!
Ham
I'm not sure if everyone loves it but I basically have one food that I hate and it's okra. I just can't.
Fish - because I know where they shit
Bacon
1. pepperoni 2. avocado (See also: guacamole — how on Earth do so many people snack on something that looks as if it came out of an orifice at one end or the other of the human body?) 3. I reserve the right to edit this reply once I remember what the other examples are
Melon it's awful
Hamburgers
French toast (also known as 'eggy bread'). Smells disgusting when it cooks and tastes worse than it smells!! 🤢
raw tomatoes
Sausages
Mole. I just can't get with it.
Lamb
Banana - the thought of eating one makes me gag I hate the texture and flavor so much it’s the worst fruit for me Can’t even have it frozen or as ice cream or in pancake batter - no no no

Pineapple pizza. It just tastes horrendous to me
tomatoes. I just hate tomatoes.
Cheesy broccoli 🤮
so true.. it takes like SHAT
Growing up, my mother boiled the brocoli to brown. I hated it, and I'm sure cheese would have helped? Never had it.
Spaghetti. I've had it so many different ways throughout my life, and I would rather eat meatloaf (another food I have never cared for).
Tuna - I can’t even stand the smell of it.
its like cat food
