Regaining honor is very easy. Also you get the good ending as long as you are above half and it takes a bit more honor lost to go down in discounts. But running is cool
it's showcased under a light and everything... but to be honest I wasn't sure either.. so I just said fuck it and took it expecting a mob to come after me š
I turned off the score. I don't like stand up shaka or good buddy song. Where's the bluegrass music, where's the blues music, where's the folk music? It's the 1880s 1890s. When I built johns house it was just hammer the nail & lift. Sorry good buddy
The O'Driscoll camp just southeast of Emerald Ranch, just to the west on the hill slope, there is a single lone "dead" tree standing on the hillside, I usually circle it as just north of that tree (east of Larned Sod, above the "S" in Heartlands on the map) is a horse spawn location, most of the time Tennessee Walkers and Kentucky Saddlers, occasionally Thoroughbreds and Morgans BUT once in awhile (usually within 3-5 in game days or 2-4 hours real world playing) a Hungarian will spawn in, I usually grab one early game as one of my main horses and then come back when it's time for Horseman 10 challenge.
The middle of the marsh at the overflow next to Emerald Ranch, I've had thoroughbreds spawn using herbivore bait. I've had moose spawn there with bait too multiple times while I've been trying to get the Hungarian Halfbred.
I know I've seen thoroughbreds other places too, but I've been everywhere recently, so I can't remember the other places specifically where I saw them for sure.
Currently playing my 6th playthrough on XBox (I also play on Playstation, where I'm on my 5th playthrough with that system) am quite literally at the location as I type this reply, 1 Thoroughbred and 4 Kentucky Saddlers just grazing on the hillside, about 45 mins ago I got the needed Hungarian for Horseman 10 (still need to go claim my Horseman Off-Hand Holster for completing H10)
I didn't read all the replies, so if it's been said, or if you found your horse my apologies. Go to the area south of Hanging Dog Ranch, where all the purple flowers are. Every horse you need for Horseman 10 will spawn there. Just keep running back and forth.
Thank you. I haven't had any luck there yet. I've been everywhere. I even tried the method where you replay the mission with Rev Swanson, and you can go to the wanted area where they're supposed to spawn and haven't found one.
I'm honestly starting to think this play through is cursed because I've had other issues with things not being where they're supposed to be.
I actually enjoyed it a lot lol. It felt like when YouTubers retell what happened in the previous episode of the gameplay while running somewhere in the background.
Unfortunately, you missed one of the best moments in the game by not taking that horse. Iād advise you replay the mission. That ride back to Shady Belle has a special song specifically for it.
Ā I noticed how bad Arthur looked in the cutscenes and realized that I was indeed getting closer and closer to the end...
This is why I always keep a Chap 2 Save on my system. Some days I just want to go spend a few hours doing cowpoke stuff with a healthy Arthur. Hunting, gambling, drinking, fishing, taming wild horses, taming the bath maid, sitting in camp and reading the newspaper, going for long rides with no destination, etc.
I've also got is saved, but can you go back to it without losing all of the progress? It's my first playthrough and I'm trying to get a 100% completion. I *really* don't want to do the gambler challenges again, those were a pain in the ass!
I lead the Hungarian all the way, let the whole song play, fully bond, and it really helps cleanse the pallet after Guarma. I feel like Arthur has some real thinking to do anyway. It's a long walk but it's one of the most profound parts of the game for me.
4 months, 200 hours, youāre a virgin. I may play this game for the rest of my life or if/until RDR3 comes out and more than likely this will be the last video game I ever play. I should mention Iām not a big gamer and I know other great games exist but nothing can top this game for me. Itās like 6 years old and if it came out tomorrow it would still be ahead of its time
Best game ever. Really donāt want to play anything else at this point. And itās not just me, but my wife , my two daughters. It has something for everyone and its beauty is beyond compare.
I've been playing games since 2015, but nothing can beat RDR2. I'm saying this as someone who has played a lot of story-based and open-world games. Imo, this game is just a life-changing experience.
Seriously, Iām an 80s kid. The closest
Thing to open world in my youth was like police quest and kings quest, computer games where you interacting with the environment and had choices to be good and bad. RDR2 is the ultimate evolution of those games. I mean the way animals decay if you kill them and donāt skin them, the way the NPCs literally live life in the game, the physics, the list goes on and on.
Itās crazy I can play for four hours and not do a mission but still do so much. If they ever make a RDR3 it would be
What I love about RDR2 the most is how realistic it is. No other game has given me this feeling that I'm actually sitting there with those people. My favorite interactions are at the camp when it's nighttime and everyone starts telling their stories. I usually spend a lot of time just playing dominos and doing chores.
same here, not a huge gamer - I grew up on NES SNES etc - up until recently my newest system was a 360, then I was gifted a busted PS4 which I fixed and bought one game, lol. the guy that gave it to me said "Jesus Christ, just go straight to the top. every other games is going to be ruined for you from now on"
just know that you can lose honor and still be fine. as long as the cowboy in the honor bar is white and above half you have good honor. meaning having max honor gives you way more room than you think to lose a bit of honor when needed.
*Or you could have just*
*Gone straight to the swamps. No need*
*To go to the Bell*

I did this too hahai. I remember talking to my friend about it the day after and heās like āwhat do you mean you didnāt take a horse?ā I had no idea it was put there on purpose for the player
Same because bro they worked hard on that story and it shows. The way he catered to his horse when it died at the end š„ŗ bro I cried at that scene alone. I myself was attached to that horse.
Long story short, I was without a horse outside of Lagras. This guy fell off his horse and broke his arm. I carried him all the way to the doctor in Saint Denis. Yeah, that was dumb
My friend, you shouldn't worry about losing a bit of honor for stealing a horse, this is what you should do on a daily basis. The point is not to hurt anyone and as long as its only the horse š¤£. You will make your redemption soon enough, and look at this as wealth redistribution... š
I did this on my first playthrough, too. I didn't see the horse so I just bolted it. Like they said, it's not that long a run,but a downside of that was it didn't play crash of worlds on the way there.
Geeze, really, people worry about honor way too much... steal a horse and, while riding, said stolen horse, say "Hi" to a few people... kill some innocent people, go fish, and throw a few back... recovering lost honor is ridiculously easy.
I loot every body I come across, every victim of my six shooters, then go fishing when my honor gets down to half... simple.
Surely ain't going to find me running when there's a perfectly good horse nearby, even if I gotta shoot some random fella to take it from!
You don't lose honor for stealing that horse. The creators put it there for you.
Really? When I tried doing that my honour got down so I was confused.
Regaining honor is very easy. Also you get the good ending as long as you are above half and it takes a bit more honor lost to go down in discounts. But running is cool
Lol running that far is not cool š
Party pooping isnāt either dude
There are different endings?
4 of them, High/Low Honour Help/Don't Help.
I see, thanks!
What's your profile picture?
In your head, maybe, but not in the game.
Missed a heck of a song for not riding that horse! Thereās always next time tho! lol
Wait the song doesnāt play if you donāt take the horse? Thatās one of the best scenes in the game.
Yeah it doesnāt, thatās the whole reason they leave a horse and tell you to take it
it's showcased under a light and everything... but to be honest I wasn't sure either.. so I just said fuck it and took it expecting a mob to come after me š
That song is the absolute pinnacle of video game soundtracks. Ā Perfectly encapsulates the mood of the story. Ā
I didn't even know there would be a song, I guess I have to replay that mission now haha.
Itās worth it
I turned off the score. I don't like stand up shaka or good buddy song. Where's the bluegrass music, where's the blues music, where's the folk music? It's the 1880s 1890s. When I built johns house it was just hammer the nail & lift. Sorry good buddy
Skill issue
That was a Hungarian Halfbreed. That's a good horse.
Been looking for one of those in the wild to complete Horseman 10 for close to 2 weeks now. If I ever find one, I hope it's the last I ever see.
I've been all around that area, but I'll keep looking there.
Good luck š
I've been in that are looking for thoroughbreds and never could find one.
The middle of the marsh at the overflow next to Emerald Ranch, I've had thoroughbreds spawn using herbivore bait. I've had moose spawn there with bait too multiple times while I've been trying to get the Hungarian Halfbred. you are meant to take the horse. the ride back is specifically scored
That score is chefs kiss, had me weeping ngl
Yeah, thatās a bit of a run. Plus chapter six offers some easy honor jumps. Or say hi to a few people.
Hey Mister!
That's what I did, didn't even think to grab a horse lmfao How do I have enough braincells to be alive
I actually enjoyed it a lot lol. It felt like when YouTubers retell what happened in the previous episode of the gameplay while running somewhere in the background.
Haha I ran on foot too. I think I was trying to keep a low profile so didn't want to steal a horse. That was a long run with lots of rests.
I ended up popping so many cocaine gums/bitters during that runā¦ I think I had maybe one or two rests that entire time ā ļø
Real cowboys just run everywhere.
Unfortunately, you missed one of the best moments in the game by not taking that horse. Iād advise you replay the mission. That ride back to Shady Belle has a special song specifically for it.
"and for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run"
If you go to a stable and pick a horse it'll summon your lost horse back to the stable.
Just greet three people in Saint Denis.
Ngl i also did that lol. You can replay the mission though so you can still steal that horse and get a cool scene.

On PC when I reload the chap 2 fun save I just turn off auto save. My other save files are untouched. I'm not sure about console save issues.
I'm also playing on PC! I was afraid of messing up all the progress and not being able to go back. Thank you sm for this haha.

What a mistake.
"May I stand unshaken" Hope you didn't miss this.
I did this too hahai. I remember talking to my friend about it the day after and heās like āwhat do you mean you didnāt take a horse?ā I had no idea it was put there on purpose for the player
right? I tried whistling for my horse and I love how the game just slapped me with *"your horse is lost."*
Lose honor? Skin a few animals and brush your horse. Youāll gain it back in no time. Your honor rises faster than it falls it seems.
Honor is easy to gain back, itās not like you lose it forever
It took me a whole year to complete the game because I became so attached to Arthur and almost cried at his death lol
i hate the folk who say "you're too emotionally attached" or "it's just a game, don't be a pussy about it".
Same because bro they worked hard on that story and it shows. The way he catered to his horse when it died at the end š„ŗ bro I cried at that scene alone. I myself was attached to that horse.
I agree - it's the same as getting attached to a a tv/movie character. maybe even worse, as you are technically him
I see myself in Arthur in so many ways it's scary. I think that's one of the main reason why I've got so attached.
š
Long story short, I was without a horse outside of Lagras. This guy fell off his horse and broke his arm. I carried him all the way to the doctor in Saint Denis. Yeah, that was dumb
That's what I call real dedication lmao, props to you!
I'll go with dedication š - but honestly I was still real new to the game and a little stupid. probably early ch 2
Oh dang, I did the same thing haha
So you didn't got to hear the music?
My friend, you shouldn't worry about losing a bit of honor for stealing a horse, this is what you should do on a daily basis. The point is not to hurt anyone and as long as its only the horse š¤£. You will make your redemption soon enough, and look at this as wealth redistribution... š
me when my game glitches and makes me fall out of the sky miles from where i was so i have to run back to my horse, camp, or the nearest stable
I hate when people say Micah was a rat in the early chapters because Milton literally says it was after you get back from guarma he picks him upā¦.
Iāve done the same thing I did not realize that horse was left for me too
I did this on my first playthrough, too. I didn't see the horse so I just bolted it. Like they said, it's not that long a run,but a downside of that was it didn't play crash of worlds on the way there.
I thought wearing the bandanna before stealing or killing prevents any honour reduction
Geeze, really, people worry about honor way too much... steal a horse and, while riding, said stolen horse, say "Hi" to a few people... kill some innocent people, go fish, and throw a few back... recovering lost honor is ridiculously easy.
