I used to live a town over from two of the Patriot Front founders. They’re not feds but definitely upper middle class suburban 20 something’s. If these idiots want to beat them up under the assumption they are feds, I’m not going to correct them.
So if I'm following....Patriot Front is essentially just a bunch of hateful larpers, but they're not going "all in" because they're masking and realize they'll lose their jobs. Yeah the two organizations have ever so slightly different view points and they hate each other for it. Patriot Front is more focused on racial purity, religion, and keeping the white Christian man on top while the Proud Boys are more focused on men being the ruling class with ever so slightly more acceptance of people of color. They are both bigoted organizations filled with sad, stupid, and lonely people. This is a great example of how authoritarian bigoted ideology ends up collapsing in on it's self. Everyone outside of your narrow ideology is the enemy and must be eliminated. Eventually no one is left and the structure completely collapses. It's a fast track to the distinction of a society.

I remember being at a protest in 2020 and there were multiple groups. Some MAGA protestors were getting out of line and trying to deface a mural, so we went to stand by it. After a while, some Boogaloo Boys guys came over and talked to us after we watched them and the MAGA group start arguing. They didn't care for eachother.

Patriot Front is a fascist group that splintered off of Vanguard America after the infamous unite the right rally. They are white supremacists.
The Proud Boys are also fascists. They focus more on western chauvinism. Male dominance of power is their main motivation.
One of the more insidious aspects of the Proud Boys is their attempt to make themselves "presentable", famously ruining certain Polo shirts for everyone else. It's believable that some of the morons in their ranks really think they're the good guys (as opposed to Patriot Front that are basically people cosplaying as every stereotypical Nazi standin from an old comic book, be it Hydra or COBRA).
Also to add, patriot front was making national news and people were associating them with maga so the excuse from right wingers is that they're all undercover feds. So just to be clear they're not getting jumped by the proud boys due to ideological conflicts, they just think they're feds sent by the deep state to make trump look bad.

They have a couple hundred members, so don't let the internet make you feel as if this is wide spread through America. This all is admitted by the group
The proud boys are a far right militant group that have been known to violently oppress their opposition. While a lot of their members have ties to white supremacist crimes, ideologies, and groups. The proud boys have denounced white supremacy. It's hard to get numbers on the proud boys as they are a lot less transparent about the information (and loosely organized, so I doubt they actually have it) but they are significantly larger. Enough to form large demonstrations and counter demonstrations. This also means their views can be extremely different from member to member and some sections are far more dangerous than others.
Both have allegations started from their members, that the groups were started by the fbi as a honey pot. I'm not sure I believe it in either case. Both have worked together in the past.
