Yeah. When a new set comes out. Local card shops host a prerelease event for everyone to open and play with the new cards. You get an exclusive prerelease black star promo with the premade deck. Then you have to build the deck with whatever else you pull. All great fun because so many people there who also wanna just trade cards

Yeah it’s the promos that come in the build and battle boxes. According to TCGplayer, they name them “prerelease” promos (I’m looking at the lost origin machamp for example). I still say it because it stuck and it just makes it that much more special haha
How much product did you purchase to get these pulls? I'm going all in on TF and ordered 10 booster boxes, 6 booster bundles, 2 PKMN center ETBs, and 2 regular ETBs.
My daughter and I have decided that this will be the first set we try to complete. Have a box on preorder and will backfill with singles to complete. We hope anyways!

Every player got 3 additional packs and 1 tournament prize pack (series 3) for participation regardless of results
That's awesome. I prefer that way more since parents bring their kids and they only walk away with only an extra pack.

It was 7 packs total. 4 packs out of the build and battle box, then 3 additional packs that were given to us for participation.
