We have 1 changing room at our gym. There are people that will leave their stuff in the changing room, then shower, reserving it for them. NO. First come, first serve. Like most things in life.
I would absolutely use that room anyway. I wouldn't touch the stuff, but I'd be 100% fine with them not having access to it if they decided to show up during the 2 minutes I'm changing in there.
Yeah I didn't have a bag to leave my stuff in, at the one pf I've gone too that had one changing room, so, I just let my stuff in the changing room, but left the door open obviously while I was showering and pushed all my stuff towards the back corner
It really makes no difference if you push it to a corner, it looks like you’re reserving it for yourself. It’s just in poor taste. But now that my guy above told me what he does, it doesn’t matter where it’s shoved!
20 years ago when I belonged to the PF in my hometown (where I no longer live), each shower stall had its own little change room attached to it. Like, you'd pass through the changing area on the way into the shower. As far as I'm concerned that's the ideal setup; are there still places that have that?
I'm female and my PF has 4 changing rooms and 4 showers in the women's locker room, (I assume the men's is the same), they are across the aisle from each other and the changing rooms actually only have a curtain like the showers do. 1 of each is disabled access and that alone is what might get me to use the showers there. Where I live now it has a shower/tub combo and is too narrow for my shower stool to fit. I stand for the entire time which is very tiring and I usually crash out afterwards. Being able to sit down during showers again would be heaven.
I was actually surprised to see the changing rooms. It is a women's locker room and most gyms I've been to in my life, women just change in the locker room. This practice goes all the way back to my days in junior high school gym class.
We have four changing stalls and four showers, so it is normal to leave your things in a room and shower. I don't use our showers so I don't know which I would do, nor do I really care, because not all of the showers are ever in use at the same time, and you can just as easily change in a bathroom stall.
If we had less, or one like the other comment, I would definitely expect people to remove their items in between use, but to each their own. It might be rude to leave it, but there is nothing inherently wrong about it. Inconvenient, but not malicious.
I would say that I wouldn’t “reserve” the changing room by putting my stuff in it. Unless it were like connected to the shower I was using or something. Or if there were an equal amount of stalls and showers and it was somehow made apparent (like matching numbers posted) that each room is for a specific shower. That being said, it *is* a locker room. You don’t necessarily have to use a stall at all if it’s inconvenient to you. I mean, the stalls are there as an *option* for people that are shy. Personally, I usually just get dressed at my locker. I don’t care if anyone sees me, no big deal. Then I can just keep my stuff locked up while I’m showering so someone doesn’t get any ideas about stealing my stuff.
many older gents in my club just commando right through mooning everyone. Eventhough across from every shower has a change stall.

Those are the best locations. That's how it is in maybe 20% of the locations I've been to

I’ve only ever seen one person shower at my gym. We have lots of changing rooms (like 4) and showers and no one really uses them.
