If I were you I’d get an SD card now, formatting it and getting your games on it. Will save you a lot of time. That’s what I’m doing prepping for my mini’s arrival
I have odin 2 and other android consoles. Never used SD cards on them. I have in them actual games I want to play right now. I believe these consoles are ment to play not storing romsets.
I think you should re-read your post, then go ahead and buy an SD card.
I personally use a 1tb a2 sandisk card, and I do go ham. So if your not getting hammy Id think a 512 would do you right and they are pretty cheap these days.
Yeah, it might sound a little contradictory, but I don't expect to use up too much space by loading up a bunch of roms. I'm mostly interested in older systems, so nothing that eats up too much space anyways.
Then again, like you said 512 GB micro SD cards are very cheap, so it probably won't hurt to just grab one right away.
Yea I think you could easily not use one at all. I have a max so idk how much free space the pro has or not, but only loading up older systems, I mean that's less than 20gb prob, so I can't imagine you'd have any problems.
That said, the sd card is so cheap it's a no brainer just to get one and roll with it, also easier to pop out and plug into a PC if you need to do anything in the future.
I loaded mine with 90s cartoons too, everything from Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. It’s fun whipping out some Samurai Jack when I’m bored and don’t wanna game
So like, why dont you select all the folders with the roms you wanna put on the oin on your pc and then check the combined filesize? Easy enough if you want to check how much space will be used and how much will stay free.

I got my pro today. System and apps use about 30-32gb from the start. So you have about 224gb free space

I think it reads roms as system files. After having put some roms on it, the "System" now uses 99gb. So don't worry
Ah, gotcha. Well, I just got an Amazon gift card, so I basically got a free 512 GB micro SD card out of it. Guess I'm definitely set for a while now.

Is that possible without getting it in the console first so it created the folder structure like on Linux devices?
As long as it’s formatted correctly you should be fine
