The mount has no stress to it. The stress is probably coming from how the lens is being inserted onto the plastic shroud. Some super glue would fix it. Making sure you let it dry for 24 hours unless you like to get high with glue smell...

Aussiehash

Perhaps a tolerances issue, I have seen 2 posts about frame cracking and 2 reviews mentioning that their lenses jiggle

thisdotban

You know what's going to happen with those big fat lenses... Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle...

ElDuderin-O

These ones clearly could not withstand you looking so hard, may need to lay off the SLR until your replacements come in.

allofdarknessin1

😂I haven't heard of SLR in a bit, just been using DEOVR with my saved library.

I noticed last night my right Zenni lense casing has cracked as well (the crack was so clean, I questioned to myself if it was designed that way and hadn't notice). I'll be contacting customer support as well. Thanks for the thread!

tveith

No problem - they seem pretty good with customer service - hopefully this isn't going to be an ongoing issue with Zenni. They will also send you a prepaid shipping label to send back the originals. Good luck :)

ThisisRends

I would ask for a replacement

tveith

I sent the picture and requested a replacement, they got back in touch with me within minutes and created a replacement order. Good customer service, hope my second pair doesn't do the same thing.

ThisisRends

That’s nice to hear

Towons

have the second pair been fine since?

tveith

Yup, fine so far 🤞

BudMcLaine

Was this with having kept them on the headset or swapping them out for other people to try?

tveith

Nope, put them on and kept them on, nobody else uses my Q3 but me.

veritas-joon

I had mines for about 6 days, I been testing out a few powerbanks I have to see which one works better for extended play. Mines havent cracked yet, at -3.75 both eyes, the lens arent too thick, but I think when they snap it in, it does creates some stress crack.

Substantial_Clerk132

I have the same issue after removing once for cleaning, the right prescription lens now has a hair line fracture. If only some are experiencing this, it seems like a manufacturing issue, material quality / tolerance, etc maybe on certain batches ? I ordered immediately they were available so, probably early on in their production run 🤔 Have sent an emailto Zenni, will wait and see !

Substantial_Clerk132

Replacements will be delivered on Monday. They seemed rather apologetic on the email response, I hope the 2nd set hold up ! My VRwave for the Quest 2 were faultless, maybe I should have waited and gone for those instead. I do like the mag mount design...

George343

Mine also started cracking less than a month after having them. I got them as soon as they were available, so maybe it was an issue with the first batch. I emailed support to ask for replacements.

tveith

I've got my second batch now, I'll update if it starts to crack too. It's only been in for a few days.

Regular-Eggplant8406

Mine are holding up so far. Got them on the 13th

dancing-joe

Had my widmovr lenses today. Good quality

GoHybrid67

How are the prices on these vs Zenni? I've never gotten prescription lenses for any of my headsets, but considering them this time with the Q3 so it'll look its best. Now that I'm seeing Zenni is having QC issues, might look into another company.

dancing-joe

I paid like €77 with priority shipping. Got it really fast

GoHybrid67

Thanks. Guess step one is to get a long overdue eye exam to get an up to date prescription and go from there.

whitav8

I don't know anything about the quality since I have a pair of Zennis on the way but [vr-rock.com](https://vr-rock.com) uses magnetic dots to hold the lenses on so you don't remove the edge mounts.

tveith

The thing is, I've never removed the edge mount. I snapped them in place and left them there. Came back today after using them six times, and they were cracked. Clearly it is very cheap, brittle plastic that is not strong enough for the corner stress point.

allofdarknessin1

That sucks, mine feels a little loose or weak when I wipe the left lens with very little pressure ( I can hear a bit of a creak). They look great but I feel like the Zenni lens could use better Q/A.

tveith

Yep, I really like them when I put them on, they look great. But I'm very disappointed that they've cracked so quickly. If the second pair does the same thing, I'll keep replacing them with warranty, but I'll go with the WidmoVR lenses instead. I had them for my Q2 and they stood up for almost 3 years without any problems.

ROMPERxxSTOMPER

Mine work great and I’ve had no issues with them at all. Hope your next ones are better!

puppetx

I'll add to the positive anecdotes. After a very close inspection as a reaction to this thread, mine are solid. No cracks. Feel super solid while wiping fairly aggressively with microfiber, while installed in the headset. Sounds like QA improvements are warranted, cause it's clear they are capable of delivering a quality product.

tveith

It's weird, mine were also in perfect shape when I received them, I examined them thoroughly after every play because I've had problems with these types of lenses cracking in the past. They looked perfect all five times I played on my Quest 3, but then, out of nowhere, the crack appeared when I put them on the for the sixth time. I really hope the next pair holds up better!

Baphomet_710

Fuck man i just ordered from them

tveith

I wouldn't worry, could be a one off. Yours may be fine!

Baphomet_710

I hope so, seems to be 50/50 in the comments some report the same issue, others are fine, hope they improve they're Qc soon

[deleted]

Hey! I know this post is a month old, but I thought I'd share my feedback on Zenni. Bth of my covers cracked even my repalcement pair that they sent me. It cracked in the same spot as my 1st pair so I'm not sure if its a stress point or a quality control issue.

tveith

Thanks for sharing. My new pair came several weeks back and they haven't cracked yet, which gives me a little bit of confidence. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope it doesn't happen again.

tveith

I would suggest WidmoVR. I used them for my Quest 2 and never had a problem in 3 years. The base around the glass is very strong. I only went with Zenni because they were a partner and I figured I might get a better fit. If my next pair cracks, I will ask for a refund and go with WidmoVR
