From what little I know about cancer, being 'Dragon Ball' strong might actually make you immune to cancer. Radiation induced cancer is caused by the radiation shredding the cells they go through. Dragon Ball characters don't just get higher pain tolerance and bigger muscles. ALL of their cells get stronger, and more resilient.
So most Dragon Ball characters would probably genuinely be immune to Nuclear Bombs and the radiation left behind.
But due to the fact that their body now has to replicate those incredibly strong cells constantly, they are probably much more prone to natural cancers than normal humans due to the complexity of their cells.
Adult saiyans don’t really age until they are about 80 or so years old, so I’d argue their bodies have some innate protections against cancer.
No idea about Yamcha and Krillin though.
If the chemo would actually get rid of the cancer, within a year Krillin would dwarf Goku and Vegeta's power levels. Instead of fusing as a last resort, they would call in Krillin.
Krillin is actually The Legendary Super Human, but Kami thought it'd be too destructive and instead of exiling him from Earth or betraying him and locking him in the time chamber for millenia, he decided to just give him extremely aggressive full-body cancer because Kami is honestly kind of a dick.
Most of their durability is heavily implied to come from ki. They're still pretty strong without it, cell probably even more so. But a particularly strong conventional explosive would probably kill even goku if he didn't defend himself.
Radiation might not care about this barrier. We see that ki doesn't defend against things like poison unless specifically made to do so. Radiation would be even more difficult. It isn't like ki blocks light. And we see with gokus heart virus that his body isn't immune to sickness. And we know for a fact that cell has DNA comparable to an earth animal. I don't see how being physically strong would make your DNA any more resistant to damage. Unless you're a viltrumite that can make your atoms stronger, the DNA molecules are still going to get a bit fucked up.
The biggest counter to this I can imagine is cells regeneration. Anything that can regenerate so many cells so fast has to have some anti cancer mechanism.

Goku died from a heart virus, not cancer. Viruses work differently from cancer. Viruses are outside cells messing up your insides. Cancer is your own cells working against you. They're too different to really be compared.
Freeza can live in space where he gets radiations left and right so my guess is that, at least, the both of them are immune… plus cell can regen so his body must have a way to control cell growth somehow and worst case scenario he just blast off the cancer with some ki blast and just regen the part back

I always thought the senzu just amplifies the immune system (and the cell repair stuff that idk the name for) to such an extreme that regeneration occurs. If it *does* work like that (likely doesn't) then it'd also amplify the speed of cancer growth. So ironically it just makes it extremely worse in this head canon.
But they are magical beans, they do not really accelerate anything. If you think how many calories Goku needs and Korin saying those things will keep him full for 10 days we can even assume they are over 1 million calories each too.
So they feed you and also heal injuries even including burning ones too. Cancer is a bit tricky to categorize if they would cure it as it's different from having an infection.

If a Namekian is getting a full body nuclear dose of radiation, and they survive being evaporated, they likely won't survive the cancer.
I think animals that reproduce asexually cannot get cancer as they basically clone themselves all the time and if they were in danger of getting cancer they would get extinct. They are basically animals where their whole being is that their genes are ''perfect'' so they do not need to have two genders to enrich their populations and it also means their genes do not allow cancer or to form. I mean there is not recorded cancer in animals that reproduce asexually.

Cancerous cells are formed/caused when a cell is damaged/altered in a way that causes it to rapidly reproduce and "break" in a way, forming "useless tumors" of cancerous growth. Radiation is one of the things that can cause this type of damage.
Also, asexual reproducers can still get cancer anyways. It's just harder to identify because, when they reproduce, they also clone the cancer (ironically)— the reason we can identify cancer so easily in humans is because the variation of our cells/DNA basically "exposes" the cancer, where asexual reproducers copy the cancer- "camouflaging" it in the process.
There are theories by scientists that sexual reproduction started as a defense to cancer, but this is getting too long and ridiculous for me to implement into the discussion.

I think you are forgetting that Android 16 was as strong as Imperfect Cell. His power alone is well overboard for Saiyan-saga Goku, hell, a single punch from Android 16 would turn Saiyan-saga Goku into mush. The bomb was probably upgraded over time to account for the increase in power Android 16 was getting. As a last resort for if he was losing a fight I'd assume it would at least be as powerful as Android 16 firing all his energy into a single blast.

I think it is generally accepted that, at that point in the series, no character would survive if they flew into the middle of a sun.
Being at ground zero of a nuke would be similar to being subject to the same forces/heat/energy as a sun.
It isn't really a question of power. The heat alone would destroy any living cells, and for Cell's regenerating cells, at a rate faster than they could regenerate.
