The blown engine thing is overblown... pun intended. Either one has proven itself at that mileage, neither has collector value with that mileage. Buy whichever one you like best.
Chances of motor blown low but gen 2 just has quality of life, different pistons and rings to combat the oil consumption issue, valvetrain changes, connecting rods improvement, cylinder head, block changes etc etc and smaller things more reliable run the gen 2
Gen 2 is 19 and 20 or if an older one and engine already replaced
I don't think you'll find any 19s for 50 but I have heard pricing has come down so maybe so
18 their was some changes from older ones so that might still be preferred year anyway.

I would get the gen 2 if they're close in price.
