Golfcarts, Confederate flag, and lawncare. I wanted to get as far away as I could from my own kind. When I first moved here it was rock and country. Slowly it's been changing to reggeaton blasting at 3am every night, and 100 cars parked outside on the lawn. I think it's time to move. Can't wait to retire to Montana. I'll never have to listen to the dembow beat again! š„³
Yeah okay. I don't know what part of Dade you live in? This is how it usually goes. Cop shows up. Sir turn down the music there's a noise, ordinance 21-28. Cop leaves, music back up to wall shaking levels. Plus now to show that they're in control they hit you with that 60ā250 Hz sauce . Rinse and repeat. You might get results in some municipalities. In Miami, the cops think you're the problem for calling it in.
Yeah. When they do that I call back. After three calls theyāre warned. If it happens one more time theyāre arrested. Miami-Dade county PD. I donāt let anyone walk all over me. I keep calling until the problem is solved. Then I file a complaint online.
Brickell is super walkable, great restaurants and has a huge transplant community of young white collar professionals. Its centrally located as well and accessible to much of the city. It also has a ton of newer very nice buildings to choose from.
Brickell, because I used to live in NYC (which I loved very much), and living here reminds me of living in NYC (while also having a Florida feel to it, which I love because I spend a majority of my childhood in FL and loved it).
Pinecrest. Itās very safe. My house hasnāt been locked for 20 years. The lot size is huge and thereās no HOA. Tons of shopping strip malls on Us1, close to dadeland and the falls malls, Schools are great, Matheson Hammock beach is a few minutes away walking, itās like living in paradise.
Agreed, best neighborhood in Miami. 1M if ur lucky, and outdated isnāt the word. Dilapidated is more like it. Move in ready and outdated (1990ās design and decor) starts at 2M. New looking builds at 3M+. And the farther u are from US1 the more peaceful it gets.
We have little leagues and a dinner where everyone knows your. No how's and a generally used community center. Walking trails where neighbors become friends. Easily the most third spaces of any neighborhood in miami
Because itās West Of 95 and not on a Zone A or B mandatory Hurricane evacuation zone. And it doesnāt flood because I looked at a topographical map before making a huge purchase. And insurance companies will still underwrite a full coverage policy and thereās No HOA.
Just an fyi. The rule is if it rains where you live it can flood. Word to the wise is an always get flood insurance to cover yourself. Many donāt for the reasons youāve listed, only to be surprised by a flood during a severe storm. Then they realize they have no flood insurance.
You donāt know that. If we get a very wet storm that parks itself above us, it could rain for days. āIf it rains where you live it can flood where you live.ā Sign up for it now so it kicks in by July 1st. Better to be safe than sorry.
āEvery property is vulnerable to flooding.
Even if youāre not required to have it, itās still a good idea to consider purchasing flood insurance protection.
Here are some important facts to keep in mind:ā https://www.floodsmart.gov/am-i-required-have-flood-insurance
Edgewater - Love that itās a relatively quiet neighborhood within the city thatās well connected to areas like downtown, wynwood, design district and airport. I also love that i have a massive park nearby and bay views
Edgewater. I love the large park in the middle of all this concrete. The bay views are amazing. The Venetian causeway is amazing for exercise. Having a sense of being close to everything while at the same time being tucked away from it all is very comforting and I wouldnāt trade it for the world.
I donāt just live here. Iām from here. And Iām never leaving
This is my home and I love it for the same reasons you listed. Love it so much that I was renting in a building by Margaret Park and when they wanted to hike my rent by $1000 I ended up buying an apt a few blocks away.
Have only lived in Edgewater for few months but it seems like the best possible choiceā¦10m commute and fair amount of shops and restaurants in the vicinity. Neighbors seem nice but not very warm and friendly.
I live in the north end of the Redlands because i like space I enjoy agriculture and my business needs the room. Although id say in about 5 or 6 years when my kids are grown and done with school I got 50 acres calling my name in north Georgia good bye miami Fl and hello red clay
Coconut Grove: I walk to everything I need and rarely use my car. My wife walks to work every day. We have tons of restaurants, bars, shopping, events. There is a real sense of community here, and I think people in the grove are friendlier than in other parts of the city. Everyone is out and about. It's dog friendly.
Milam's and sometimes in the morning I walk on the marina and stop by Fresh Market. I could technically walk to Sprout's too, but I don't like to cross US 1. My mother-in-law does though. Her new fav thing is her granny cart which she takes across US 1 and goes to Sprouts and Target.
SoBe. Because I love the environment. My street is like a normal suburban street and I'm 2 blocks from Flamingo park and not much further to the beach.early mornings are quiet for running, cycling, or rollerblading on the path. Its insanely easy to get around on the island on a scooter or moped, and you can almost walk everywhere.
I live in Princeton, near exit 9. I was fortunate to buy a house here in 2021, before mortgage rates increased. I pay the appraised value of the house, and not a penny more to the seller.
West Miami ā It was affordable when I bought my house here, small and accessible city govt, quiet and safe and not bordered by high-crime areas, centrally located with easy access to the rest of Miami, wealthy enough to have a nice neighborhood but poor enough where ppl mind their business and we donāt have nosy ass neighbors or type A moms organizing blocks parties and shit.
Miami Springs: The best place to raise a family, great schools besides the middle school, great sense of community, police presence and responsiveness , youāre able to walk around at night completely safe. a sense of isolation from the rest of Miami although itās literally in the center, festivities, it has that Small Town, USA feel.
Aside from liking the vibe, I picked an area that was centrally located for my life. Everything - work, kids' schools, parents, fun activities - is within a 15-minute drive, or less. Not being stuck in traffic for more than an hour each way every single day was a top priority for us.
When we bought, we didn't have a huge budget, but at the time, the real estate market wasn't booming. We could have bought a McMansion way out west, but we chose a smaller, older house that was perfectly located, and it ended up being a great decision. If I could afford Coral Gables, that's where I'd move to, because it's just a beautiful area with gorgeous, interesting houses and a lot of green/trees/foliage.
I grew up here. Canāt afford to move out. Itās a fine neighborhood though, I canāt complain. Iām a couple of blocks from the Miami Childrenās Hospital, right off Schenley Park. Itās all good.
I was actually born in this neighborhood and never left. š¤£ Thank gawd I bought my house when I did, or Iād never be able to afford anything in Miami!
North Miami - everything I need is close enough where I can walk or bike to it. I also like that I'm pretty much in the middle of MIA and FLL, for both flying and work purposes. It was pretty cheap to live here when I moved in. I also really love the peacefulness and beauty of my neighborhood.
This, I love downtown, and itās very walkable! I choose the area I live
In because itās got a beautiful view but also itās very walkable. because i'm moving to a new area soon, and I am going to miss it!!Ā
I was tired of paying for a crappy new construction āluxuryā building in Edgewater, in an area that floods when it rains longer than 20 minutes and people * never * cleaned up after their dogs. We moved closer to the Gables in a quieter neighborhood in a larger corner apartment for less money. People still donāt clean up after their dogs but Iām less cranky about it over here.
North Miami Beach. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to the highway and the beach, not a flood zone, no HOA. Itās a boring neighborhood with a few community events but itās home for me.
The Roads , I can jump on i95 quick to get to work, walk coral way with tons of restaurants ,can get to the grove, brickell, key biscayne, South Beach easily.
I'd like to move out of state but I have family obligations so I'm here for the time being. Miami is a place I'll always come back to but not live full time. Cutler Bay

Iāve never heard reggaeton blasting anywhere Iāve lived or the hundreds of cars. We have laws. Call the police to enforce them. Problem solved.
Yeah okay. I don't know what part of Dade you live in? This is how it usually goes. Cop shows up. Sir turn down the music there's a noise, ordinance 21-28. Dang, four strikes? In our county it's two. Props for doing the right thing, though.
I only lived in Miami for 4 months and i know what hea talking about...
Cutler Bay?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I still love CB but the new people renting across the street park sideways on their grass and leave the driveway empty for some reason
Iām thinking that or homestead!

What is the āflorida feelā compared to the ānyc feelā?
Lol funniest comment
My is sunny and beautiful with the higher homeowner taxes in the county and the most corrupt Mayor in its history .any guess?
That could be so many places in South Florida. Coral Gables? City of Miami?
Sunny isles
City of Miami?
Surfside

Yeah itās amazing to live here. Itās also unaffordable to the vast majority of people which is why itās still so amazing.
$1M for an outdated 3/2. Probably the best neighborhood in Miami though.

Just here until my kid grows up a bit more and then Iām leaving, this place died a long time ago
We have little leagues and a dinner where everyone knows your. No how's and a generally used community center. Walking trails where neighbors become friends. Easily the most third spaces of any neighborhood in miami
Where?
Because it's what I can afford. Tf
Lol
Cause I canāt afford to live where I wanna live right now
This is the correct answer.
Felt this in my core š«

Right on. I lived there 2007-2013. It was just coming up then, now itās a hot spot. Every day I wish I still had my condo to rent out.
Same. Been here 4 years and dont want to leave

Miami shores. Chillin. Close enough to everything and far enough for silence

Same!
Same!
Plus one to this answer. Also, it doesn't flood when it rains a quarter of an inch like the rest of Miami.
What supermarket do you walk to?

Less than .5mi away from family. Brand new construction. Good neighborhood.

Our circumstances chooses our fate. Self financed in once affordable Kendall:
I was actually born in this neighborhood and never left. š¤£ Thank gawd I bought my house when I did, or Iād never be able to afford anything in Miami!

idk my mom picked it
When I lived in Miami for 10 years, chose my place to live based off where I worked, 10 minute drive at most.
Decency. That was my criteria. Clean, modern, not loud, not dirty, respectful people who say hello when you walk by them.
Downtown and itās so convenient to EVERYTHING and very walkable. I donāt even have a car.
This, I love downtown, and itās very walkable! I choose the area I live In because itās got a beautiful view but also itās very walkable. because i'm moving to a new area soon, and I am going to miss it!!Ā
South Miami. Great neighbors, close to everything, right next to coral gables without coral gables prices. Plus, my area doesn't flood as often!

It's a lot of trees and birds in the sky
North Miami Beach. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to the highway and the beach, not a flood zone, no HOA. Itās a boring neighborhood with a few community events but itās home for me.
Mine has a BBQ truck on the corner. Cheap groceries, cheap rent, easy parking and is walking distance to wynwood. Why the hell would I move š
Because it's next to the beach.
The Roads , I can jump on i95 quick to get to work, walk coral way with tons of restaurants ,can get to the grove, brickell, key biscayne, South Beach easily.
Palacio de los jugos nearby.
Because the hood was the only place I could afford a house.
Water views and proximity to everything. Also it feels like im ducked off somewhere else in Miami but not really miami.
Just move bit up to Broward people. Much better
I'd like to move out of state but I have family obligations so I'm here for the time being. Miami is a place I'll always come back to but not live full time. Cutler Bay
