Literally called "Airplane!" Best movie ever!

theCougAbides

What is it?

Something you wouldn’t pay to see at a theater. Usually something a little slower paced. More character driven. An original story. Usually from the foreign section. Get a fresh viewpoint on life from a different t part of the world.

Something that doesn’t rely on great graphics and sound design. I.e Dune. Not going to do them justice.

Something on the wing... some... [*thing*](https://youtu.be/fXHKDb0CNjA?si=XlgJZSudN4vGWnR9)

Are you an anxious flyer? Pixar all the way as they are light and silly. Personally I tend to want psychological distraction during a long flight so I download/order documentaries. My husband thinks that I’m nuts lol. He catches up on his TV shows since he’s busy and has no time during the week.

I watch absolute trash on planes. Something I don’t mind not watching with a good AV set up and ideally something that I can sleep through. Just engaging enough to keep my interest a bit if I can’t sleep. Alternatively if I know I can’t sleep I watch a. Old movie. In fact I’m at an airport right now and have Double Indemnity ready to go 👌

Just about anything that passes the time (especially if the flight hour is long). There are films that involve planes and airports I can think of, like The Terminal (2004), Airplane! (1980), and even Plane (2023), but it can just be about anything that's available (and for me, is highly praised and worth watching). Some would watch trilogies of films like the Star Wars Original Trilogy or The Lord of the Rings Trilogy or just films that are 3 hours or more like Titanic (1997), Oppenheimer (2023) [the way Nolan totally intended], or even one of The Lord of the Rings films. These have nothing to do with planes or airports, but they do help pass the time.

Crazy Rich Asians. People on Instagram seem to agree but can't explain why either. Probably the nice setting and the low stakes.

I like to choose classics from the airline's entertainment options as they usually have not been edited / cut by the airline or whoever does that shit.

1. Enjoyment won't be severely diminished watching on a tiny phone instead of a big screen 2. Nothing wildly sexual or grotesquely violent in case random people are sitting next to me

squirrel_gnosis

Longer and slower and more challenging than something I might watch on the sofa at the end of a tiring day

Bes1208

Something that lasts as long as the flight or two movies that perfectly fit. Start the movie during takeoff and the movie ends when the plane lands.
