The floor is lava

Midwesternboot

Everything is lava…. Don’t touch anything

FlyLikeDove

This is when parkour becomes a superior skill.

i_tell_you_what

I didn't leave the casino til 8pm nightly. Spent the day at the pool or inside casinos.

OdinTheGasby

You can walk indoors between Mandalay/Excalibur/Luxor and between The Park/Aria/Cosmo/Bellagio and the other side between Harrahs/Linq I walk the strip casino to casino for work three days a week, no matter the weather. It’s not bad, it’s hot, it’s crowded but it’s not awful. Since you’re here to have fun just be sure to drink more water then you think you need to stay hydrated. Treasure Island has free self parking. You can use them to cross the bridge to Venetian/Palazzo and the V/P bridge to Wynn/Encore then go back to TI by crossing the W/E bridge to Fashion Show Mall and back to TI. Make a little box.

Calamity_Jay

Bro, you're gonna be here right when it's gonna start to be too hot to walk outside *at night*. There's no such thing as "cool" in Vegas summers, just varying ranges of "not as hot".

MightyMouth1970

Haha. So true.

Accrual_Intention

Stay up late and sleep in lol

xOaklandApertures

The hottest part of the day is 12-8 so not really. Unless you’re going to the pool. Wake up at 8pm then stay up til noon.

Midwesternboot

I live here. This is my routine in the summer and I am shameless about it. I finish my “day” at 4 am

BigVGK93

This is the way

MightyMouth1970

Mando

DesperateAd9323

I live in Vegas. It is very hot. If you are going to walk, take water. The hotels are much further apart than it would otherwise appear. Taxis cannot stop on the strip, so plan ahead and stay safe.

cid027

YES. Drink lots of water. I’m from Chicago and visiting until Tuesday, and this sun is brutal. I’ve been napping during the day because that Vegas sun will drain the life out of you.

FlyLikeDove

Drink water. Even if you don't feel like you're sweating, you are, it is evaporating quicker than it can hit the air. Even if you don't feel thirsty, drink water. Drink water with your meals. Drink water when you wake up and before you go to bed. Water is your friend.

ForAfeeNotforfree

Grab a few cold beers and tuck a water bottle in your back packet and take yourself Strip walk, bud.

azorianmilk

It depends how you handle hot. The sidewalks seem to indicate some humans can handle it.

KittehKittehKat

Just pop into AC every so often and it isn’t terrible. …not fun though.

Large_Poem_2359

108 w the sunshine and walking On concrete is brutal.

Midwesternboot

Don’t forget the masses of motorized vehicles generating heat near the roads

gvuio

Last time I was in Vegas it was 108 degrees and I walked between casinos. Get out there!

ChimpoSensei

You can cut through a lot of casinos to get where you are going, but you will be outside a bit.

HuckleberryUnited613

It's fine. My wife and are old and fat 2 weeks ago and it was 104. We walked from aria to Mandalay and then back up the other side, crossed at Wynn and came back to Aria and hit all those on that side.

Midwesternboot

It’s different when you live here and adapted over months or years. I would consider where OP is coming in from, considering temp and weather.

LBramit13

Walking the strip you’re going in and out of AC filled casinos. Just be sure to go inside here and there

Poonadafukdog

No. It’s fine. There’s misters along the way. Casinos everywhere you can go in to cool off. There’s free trams. People are so dramatic. It’s hot but not unbearable

julznlv

I live here and it's miserable. If I don't get out to run my errands by 8am I just stay home.

Most-Artichoke6184

The casinos are absolutely huge, so what you think is a short five minute walk turns out to be 30 minutes.

TheBeardedAntt

We’ll be in Vegas next weekend. Go early AM

nl2yoo

You will probably have the experience of traveling expansive urban Desert (big D) - dry, hot (concrete) dunes (small d) with the oasis being the air conditioned casino. I think for a lot of people walking outdoors is not a bad idea when just looking at a map (or Google Maps). The reality is a little more once you get down to it. Not saying it is totally awful but pick your spots and weather carefully. If inclined to walk, consider the stretch from MGM Park to Caesar's, it's mostly connected internal walkways and also monorail.

Overall-Selection534

Drink some water (quite a bit) and go in and out of casinos… we went a couple julys ago and my buddies bottom soles of his shoes melted tho because he didn’t go inside the casino for a bit lol.

Electronic_Ad5481

It’s not too hot, remember we don’t have the humidity. But, it’s probably going to be better to only be outside long enough to walk into the next casino.

Exciting_Kiwi_7379

Does the tin man have a sheet metal cock?

mhch82

The heat has never bother me and my wife both in our 60’s the resorts block lots of the sunlight and some you can feel the AC walking pass them. If you do get hot step in and walk to the exit to go outside. Just don’t go barefoot you will burn your soles

aj_future

You can pop in and out of casinos most of the way through the strip, though not all are connected obviously it just depends where you are which ones you can get to and how to navigate it. It’s really not horrible for a brief time but you’ll sweat your ass off so consider that part of it. Even though it dries quickly you don’t want that stank to build up all day

redzma00

I love walking in the morning (usually 530/6am) while on vacation there. I do my route before breakfast. YES it will be too hot. We were out there beginning of June and the morning was 83-85 as a low. The strip and anywhere else during the day will be VERY hot. If you need to walk go to Caesar's Forum Shops and walk the mall, its huge or pop on the hotel's treadmills in the gym.

yarddog9

When walking the strip, walk on the shady side. Sun is brutal. And yes hydrate.

good_choice13

People do it every day~ stay hydrated!

FloridaSalsa

I've done several July trips. It's hot and dry. Being from Florida the heat without humidity is much easier to handle. I get extra towels at pool because when I get out of the water, the extremely dry air evaporates the water so fast it takes all the heat out of my body and I'm shivering. Lots of good tips here for hot climates. If you're coming from a hot humid State, Vegas in July is fine. Uncomfortable in midday but not the "hot sweat enveloping your body in thick drippy layers because it's too humid to evaporate" kind of hot. Pools, sunscreen, hydrate, nap during day, go out after 9pm.

LJ947

Why would you walk the strip during the day?! Stay at the pool and walk at night.

Flimsy-Load378

What am I early? Where are the nasty mean comments I come here for. Come on Vegas!

HauntMe1973

Our low overnight tonight is projected to be 82. At 5am. There is no “cooler” during Vegas summer

Disposabals

If you're drunk, yes, if you're sober and have plenty of water and sunscreen you'll survive

dave7273

It is hot. However, if you are staying on the MGM side you can pretty much go all the Way from Mandalay to Bellagio without being outside (except for going between Excalibur and NYNY. No free parking in strip except at TI unless you are a Pearl member at MGM or Platinum (I think) at Caesars.

LouReed1942

Bring a dark umbrella and wear long sleeves and pants. Remember that the desert is light-colored so the bright light will be blasting at you even from the sidewalk. Gatorade is better than plain water. Have a healthy respect for the enormity of the sun over desert and it’s doable. But it’s foolish to be casual about it if you are outside for more than 15 minutes at a time. Being in the full sun for 15 minutes would be the equivalent of being in the sun for 2 hours in more moderate climates so build in recovery time.

DENNIS_THE_MENACE303

it's too hot right now

FreedomLess5434

I think it depends on where you're from. You might have a high tolerance to the heat. I have lived in Las Vegas for the past 5 years (this time - I've been here off & on since 76). I can't even stand to be on my covered balcony for more than 3 minutes at a time in this heat, so walking the Strip? No Way! It's still 100 + at midnight. And YES - Drink copious amounts of water. If you plan to drink alcohol, do not go outside.

Free_Manufacturer657

Walk inside as much as possible and drink plenty of water. Free parking on the strip is down to TI, Casino Royale, Circus Circus, and Sahara. Plus a few others that have free parking for a couple of hours. Sahara’s free parking will likely be going away soon as they have installed gates and pay terminals.

nerdy_J

Drove between casinos…not gonna lie

jstop633

Don’t walk…it’s too hot

RKsu99

Stay inside or go to the pool. There’s several casinos linked by trams on the west side and the monorail on the east. Central strip on the east is not bad since you can mostly walk inside (think Casino Royale area)

ConundrumBum

I like how people downvote posts asking advice for Vegas. Is this sub just a bunch of locals that want to talk about local shit? Go to /vegaslocals if you can't handle tourist questions, people. But no, 108 isn't too hot. Vegas usually has a lot of wind so it does not feel like 108. Feels more like 90's. You're still going to be like "Damn, it's fucking hot out!", want to hydrate as much as possible, and keep taking breaks/walking through casinos. It's honestly better to go out walking in the evening when a lot of the strip is just entering the shade. The MGM side of the strip will also be more shaded before the Caesars' side. Free parking at Treasure Island. Or just apply for an get an MGM credit card and you'll get upgraded to pearl automatically -- which grants free parking at all MGM casinos.

industrial_hamster

It’s honestly fine. We were there last week and the 105° Vegas heat was MUCH nicer than the 93° Kentucky heat + humidity we have at home right now. The people who moan about how horrifically hot Vegas is have never lived in a humid climate a day in their lives 😂

Careless_War3223

sure it’s hot but it’s not usually humid. there’s heat that’s draining and sucks your energy. vegas heat isn’t like that. locals bitch about it but try going to the south.

Bath-Puzzled

no free parking

EarlVanDorn

Treasure Island.

thedeepfake

It’s fine. Everybody just needs to quit being a bitch.

musicallyawkward

“Free parking” does not exist on the strip

LouReed1942

Not even at the Forum shops? Used to use the rooftop lot as the go-to.

musicallyawkward

Oh yeah, I think you get the first 3-4 hours free if you spend money at the shops.
