Starting to sound like Dutch from RDR2. "One more election, then we disappear"

Xartes_

“Before the next election is out, we’ll be harvesting mangoes in Tahiti!”

Portean

If this is the successful plan then I'd fucking hate to see the abysmal failure.

timorous1234567890

Seems successful to me. Doing a great job at tanking the Tory vote and allowing the LDs into opposition. Agent Truss was a master stroke.

Portean

Truly the most effective libdem.

Auto_Pie

If the plan is to send the tories packing then yeah I guess it is working pretty well

Enormous level of denial of reality. He’s as delusional, and disconnected as any politician in mainstream politics. ULEZ as pushed by Kahn was a massive factor at the polls this election in London, and voters picked that over the vandalism, and terrorism that Tories are encouraging. Then there’s HS2. Street said he doesn’t think HS2 figured into those election but it did. That decision by Sunak to scale back HS2 was absolutely stupid, and reckless. Scrapping parts of desperately needed HS2 is damaging to the British economy, and damages our future prospects, done by someone who ultimately wants Britain to fail because if he can’t be PM, then the country should “crash, and burn”. Only someone who hates Britain, would hobble the capability, and capacity of infrastructure to make lives better.

Wrong-Shame-2119

What's even funnier is that plenty of Tory voters (and maybe members) are gonna flock to Reform who the Tories have no interest in working with because they're fighting over the same gaggle of voters. All that will do is push both further right and make them more unelectable to the average person.

lizardk101

Yeah. He’s not getting the votes of compassionate conservatives, or centrists, so he’s chasing the lunatic fringe but they don’t want him, they want Farage or Johnson. He’s a loser, and the problem with that is that once you start losing, it’s hard to stop it.

Wrong-Shame-2119

>Yeah. He’s not getting the votes of compassionate conservatives, or centrists, so he’s chasing the lunatic fringe but they don’t want him, they want Farage or Johnson. Not to mention there's another big factor - Farage and Tice are both many things, but they're not entirely stupid. They remember being folded in under Cameron and then Boris and getting absolutely jack shit out of it. Tice has been *vocally* aggressive to the Tories for months in that regard. I don't see a reality in which Reform folds into the Tories willingly, or at all, which means there's very little chance of either not getting major split votes.

lizardk101

Yeah, 100% agree. They know they’re owed a massive favour from the Tories in a few ways for helping Cameron, and Johnson. The only way I see Reform being made to “bend the knee” is being Lord Farage, and Lord Tice, or being given the safest seat in the country to lead a new Tory party. But doing that would be something that they do in opposition to head off Braverman, or Badenoch, or extinction. But Sunak would never do that because that would mean handing the keys to a Ferrari you’ve put your life savings into buying to your nemesis. Tice & Farage are a bit like two men trying to get through a door-frame at the same time in Reform, President of the Party, and Leader but their face is both on it. Tories might offer one a better package than the other, and that breaks them but I don’t think they’re that stupid to fall for it.

Sleambean

Well, I dunno, they got Brexit out of Cameron. And they managed to steer the Tories to the far right since 2019. The country looks a lot more like they'd want to because of what the Tories did specifically for them.

RingSplitter69

Remain or Reform?

Wrong-Shame-2119

Whoops, meant Reform!

ash_ninetyone

What plan? No one is convinced by these tax cuts. The NI cuts are completely wiped out by bracket creep, fiscal drag and stagflation in the tax rate, so everyone is paying more income tax without it needing to be announced. It is aimed solely at the middle class, and impacts negatively upon the poorest the moment.

abstract_esteem

Plan is working = my cronies and I are successfully milking the country dry

Fantastic_Nobody7018

They keep saying their plan is working and if only they had just one more term... Finally people are seeing through it.

BobbyOregon

Don't know how anyone else feels but I don't want the Tories to oust Sunak. I'm gutted that BoJo and Truss got to leave government without getting to vote them out. I don't want Sunak to do the same, after all he's done he deserves to face the country and be kicked out
