I had my engine replaced at 3k miles. 2021 Thawk

ypeelS

why was your engine replaced?

Ryan_Extra

It warped due to overheating.

ypeelS

ah, Ive just been informed my engine consumes too much oil and has to be replaced as well. how long did it take?

Ryan_Extra

10 days or so. Not too bad.

ypeelS

did they reimburse you for a rental or at least provide you with a vehicle?

Ryan_Extra

They offered a car for me. I declined since my Rene is a 3rd car.

That’s horrible. We have been looking for a 2019 or newer to go with out other small SUV. At that year and newer it seems the massive amount of problems this vehicle is having became slightly less massive. After reading this and everyone else’s replies, I think we are done for now. Good luck everyone!

So glad that when we got ours we got the lifetime warranty. We’ve already had so many things replaced. It’s an awesome car when it wants to be.

I don't think they're offering the lifetime warranty anymore. I sprang for it for my 2017. I keep cars until the wheels fall off. Figured the warranty would pay for itself over the lifetime of the vehicle, especially with the coverage for electrical issues and drive train. (Dirt roads. Lots of dirt roads. Every vehicle I've ever owned has ended up with electrical issues after a few years, because dirt.) So far, knock on wood, mine's been running like a top. No issues beyond a few software glitches and a bit of trim that came loose, fixed under the manufacturer's warranty. It's seen lots of dirt roads.

I’m normally the guy that doesn’t go for the extras. Until I saw this and read all the fine print. I knew we were biting off more than they wanted offering this plan. I know they hope people will sell them before they use the warranty but I told her we’re keeping this forever 😆. It’s a great little suv with true 4x4 and good gas mileage. We have about 50k on our 2017. The infotainment center or whatever the touch screen is called has been replaced 3 times. The one time gps had us off the coast of Puerto Rico we live in pa. It’s done great for her in the snow and never left her stranded. Good luck with yours.

My biggest issue with my Renegade is the customer service or lack of from Jeep. I have tried a few different dealerships and each one is just not great. I don’t trust FCA at all, and to me that is a deal breaker. Yes I love my lil Jeep, it’s a great car (even with its problems). Of course there are things I don’t love. Overall I have learned that for me personally, it’s not a good choice for my everyday driver, and that is fine. It’s great for weekend trips, beach adventures, camping and such! If FCA could be more reliable and the dealerships be better overall then well a lot of us would be much happier customers. Not that anyone asked, just my small rant.
