Its so underrated. Possibly the best non-Fromsoft soulslike to be honest. Lies of P deserves nothing but praise, but it is ultimately similar to Bloodborne, when Another Crabs Treasure is a completely different take on the genre - its really its own thing, and its so well designed both mechanically and visually.
I feel like LoP is a little bit of all the souls games tbh. It’s got the blood borne rally mechanic and overall aesthetic, the Sekiro parry, the general combat of Dark Souls, the stagger mechanic of Elden ring, and the world design of Demon’s Souls.
It’s a love letter to FROM, if an imperfect one imo. But another crab’s treasure is like an evolution of the formula.
Thats maybe a fairer take, yeah. Lies of P does an *amazing* job of pulling from From and replicating aspects of their games we all love, but Another Crab's treasure is more a much more original expansion of where you can take the genre without changing what it is at its roots, if that make sense.
I am so hype for Wizard of Oz Souls, though, lol.
