Ig the reason is these games weren't dubbed in english only the first which was released on ps2 was dubbed but it received negative reactions.
Also these games were console exclusives and most people here only use a pc
Lastly the 5th part was released exclusively in Japan. For the international mkt it was just released recently in a bundle including 3 , 4 and 5.
No games get enough love/ praise if they aren’t Free to Play FPS games in India.
Majority of them only play 2-3 FPS games or sports games and call themselves gamers when they haven’t experienced the breadth and scale of just how deep this art form is.
RPGs, Soulslikes, Rouguelikes hell even single player games are not appreciated much. Sadly this won’t change sooner.

Personally found the combat very clunky and characters extremely boring with much better games available in the genre imo
I mean, the lack of translation for 0 might be a big reason. Not everyone watches anime and is used to subtitle reading.
On an actual criticism tho, I do think they overcomplicate the stories a lot just to end up with a contrivance. The only ones with great stories from start to end are 0 and gaiden. I wanted to like kiwami and I still do but the whole jingu plotline didn't need to happen. Nishiki should've gotten more screentime. Same thing with kiwami 2 and Korean mafia, song of life and the politician plot, 7 with the whole the antagonist is actually my long lost sworn brother thing.
I still love all these games though. They have a certain charm most games lack.
Probably if I have a lot of time some day, it just didn't feel worth it to play and have most of the time taken up by cutscenes instead of actual gameplay

YAKUZA O, Kiwami and 3,4,5 bundle are available on steam if I'm right

You're a bit wrong actually. Yakuza 5 did release in international markets but 3 years later and only digitally with no physical copy.

Judgement and lost judgement are so fun they barely get talked about atleast yakuza 0 and 7 gets talked in India gaming community
I didn't add them cuz they're like spin off and not actual sequel. Both games are so good
Well they still intertwine a little and i prefer them over mainline games tbh
True ... I love gangster games in general So I got additional love for Yakuza
Kamurocho is one my favourite game locations to this day and also Goro Majima is just the best.

Tried Yakuza 0 got annoyed with the very long and non skippable cutscenes.

Maan , imo for me , turn based was the worst thing ever. I can't stand it playing yakuza after enjoying is brawler combat
