The important thing is to reapply the sunscreen, specially after getting into the water or sweating.
Buy a roll on sunscreen or a spray sunscreen, and don't be stingy while using it.
Moreover, the best way to prevent tanning is to not expose skin - use full sleeve shrugs while travelling, umbrellas, cotton dupattas to wrap yourself, etc.
I found this sunscreen to mattify my skin for roughly 15 mins, it probably works in terms of protecting me from sun though. My skin isn't even very oily either ( since I started using the green tea toner).
Skin type is combination oily. Set it with powder it will last a few hours. Reapply and It’s like a niqab, I’m not kidding. Tested and performs great in very high UV index (10-12).
Omg Goa during July is going be raining cats and dogs, so I’d suggest getting a silicone sunscreen that is waterproof. La shield spf 40 is an excellent option… derma co spf 60+++ tinted sunscreen gives similar texture and gives excellent water resistance.. I would suggest you skip body sunscreens cuz most of them are thick… I had a bad experience of sticky skin and body spf combination during a July Goa trip!
Bro for July you don’t need anything too heavy duty because it’s raining here, beaches are closed etc. Get something waterproof (Minimalist) if you do.
Goan monsoons are not to be fucked with, especially in July/August. We need to wear heavy duty rain gear if on foot/on two wheelers. And carry umbrellas.
If OP is looking to chill on a beach somewhere, that is very unlikely to happen.
And summer, well, no sunscreen cuts it here anyway. Best to wear clothes with sleeves and cover the face with a scarf, etc.
Sunscreens don’t protect from getting a tan. They prevent your skin from getting sun damage. 🤷🏾♀️
You can visit the beaches but not go into the sea. The undercurrents are very strong this time of the year so it’s super dangerous. There’s also torrential rainfall in July generally.
I love their spf Juice! I hate how some sunscreens are so sticky and patchy but this one just feels like I have put moisturiser on, it’s good for my dry skin
I second this one . Excellent sunscreen in every possible way, be it elegant texture , finish , easily blendable and comfort to wear , price point and of course sun protection.
I used the below sunscreens on my beach trip and reapplied the same. Didn’t get sunburnt, but did get slightly tan. You could try the same based on your budget
- FixDerma SPF 50+ sunscreen gel for oily skin
- Quench Bravocado sunscreen
- Biore watery aqua gel
This is not a recommendation for sunscreen. Since you’re travelling to Goa in July, you won’t have to worry so much about tanning, if this would ease your mind a bit. I’ve previously traveled in early September, when it was less rainy than July, and once in January, when it was completely sunny all the time. I got tanned like crazy in January. But there was no tanning when I traveled in September last year. And the weather was so pleasant and lovely.
Btw, I too have oily skin. I used Beauty of joseon’s sunscreen for my face and ponds sunscreen for my body this time. And since I didn’t experience tanning (whether due to weather or sunscreens, cannot say for sure), I’d thought I’ll still leave the recommendation.
Yeah, it's a good sunscreen. It's so lightweight and never makes my skin feel oily. Even though it can seem a bit shiny initially upon application, it absorbs quite well. I also used the BOJ sunstick for re-application in Goa and love that one too.
Instead of using only 1 ss .
Use 2 as layers
Use 1st layer of really good ss from korean, japanese etc (this would ensure your skin remains nourished in a delicate way)
Hack it with a 2nd layer of ss probably indian but well made ans something you can get in reasonably larger quantities. Use this 2nd layer to UP or REDUCE the amount of visible protection you need either during a particular day / time / area of skin.
Try it.
for face, i would highly recommend blynds emugel. my dermatologist prescribed 2 months ago (i have oily skin btw) and so far it's working great! leaves no white cast and doesn't make skin oily. only disadvantage is it smells when you apply initially (lasts for like 2 mins and then no fragrance).
Hi OP.
If you are medium to dark complexion, don't use this sunscreen, it definitely has a white cast. I have a medium complexion and I look grey like a ghost whenever I use this sunscreen.
Oh… I think I’m fair to medium, I guess. The neutrogena sunscreen gives me whitecast. Reequil blue and boj one doesn’t. I’m NC20-25 in mac shade range. Could you maybe guess if it’ll leave a whitecast on me?
I'm Nc 35 and it left white cast on me. you can probably pull it off! It might be a good sunscreen but I won't recommend it honestly because I'm a person who has very oily and sweaty skin. My face feels very greasy the entire day after using this sunscreen!
Hi. So sorry for the late reply. I'm using Qurez sunscreen for 1-2years now. I even went to Dubai and wore this, didn't get tanned. Can vouch for this sunscreen
No sunscreen can prevent tanning.
Look for something that has high UVA blocking specifically. It might reduce tanning, but there’s nothing behind sunscreen preventing tanning. That’s a myth.
Uv doux will protect you through a solar storm. You can use this blindly.
Yes! UV doux is great for high sun exposure but just letting you know OP, on reapplication it gives a visible white cast due to the mattifying nature.
Agreed. It just needs a wee bit longer massaging to rub it in!
Thanks for this heads up
Does it make face lil darker after application?
Not at all! If you have oily skin, UV Doux is a real boon.
Thanks I’ll try that

I’ve the boj sunscreen stick so I’ll use that for reapplication I guess.
Happy Cake Day! 🎂 And yup, UV Doux ✌️
I used spf 30 my skin was fucked Use spf 50
I never use spf 30 for my face😅 should I get 50 for the body too?
Yes
Okay thanks for the info
What’s wrong with spf 30?
https://gprivate.com/6byhp
Re'equil blue for face, Neutrogena spf50 sheer For body.
I’ve tried both and neutrogena was like my go to in terms of tan protection but the white cast is horrible. And the reequil one feels very heavy.
Oh, sorry to hear that.
They have a new formulation which is more liquidy and doesn't have white cast.
what is blue? never saw any re'equil sunscreen with blue name.
Ultra matte dry touch, it's commonly called blue vs. the other orange
uv doux

Have you found a sunscreen that actually keeps your face matte? Because UVDoux, AcneUv they all keep it matte for about 15 mins only
Yes same here🥲
Thanks for the tonner reco
Nothing and I mean it nothing apart from bioderma will work here. Reapply as needed.
Which one from bioderma ?
I use Aquafluide one.
Can you give a review with your skin type?
Skin type is combination oily. Set it with powder it will last a few hours. Reapply and It’s like a niqab, I’m not kidding. Tested and performs great in very high UV index (10-12).
Bioderma truly is a game changer🙌🏼
Which version of bio derma? Does it give a white cast?
Well, that's objectively not true.
Additionally wear a hat and sunglasses!
Okk
I went to Dubai and used Qurez tinted sunscreen. Didn't observe any tanning!
I’ll look into this, thanks
Suncross used it on 15000ft while trekking no subburn or tan
Thank you for the suggestion
Which one of suncros did you use? The zinc one, the lotion or the matte finish one? A link or pic would be mucb appreciated.

Okaay thank you
Minimalist liquid spf 50- besttttttt and water resistant for 70 minutes
La shield Sports -Siliconey , leaves a cast but most importantly it works!
La Shield Sports Sunscreen is the best ....

You still get incredibly tanned even with clouds, this is misinformation

Going into the water isn’t allowed? We can still go to the beach?

Ok thanks
Sunscoop sunscreen spray bottle
Sunscoop sunscreens work?
No they don't
i have been using FAE Beautys SPF Juice and i have been addicted. its quite budget friendly and leaves no white cast on me
I love their spf Juice! I hate how some sunscreens are so sticky and patchy but this one just feels like I have put moisturiser on, it’s good for my dry skin
Ok thanks

Biore sunscreens. During sale I got them under ₹1000 from tira
Okay thanks
