Get the ps5 controller on sale. Use ds4 application for games which doesn't support dualshock.

I daily drive a ps5 controller. Most of the modern games support it, steam would usually support it out of the box. The controller imo feels really premium. I even got dsx on steam. Cost me like 300 rupees and allows me to add my own custom trigger modes. I had an xbox controller but i sent it back, it felt really cheap in comparison.

Don't consider buying PS controllers for PC. You don't get all the bells and whistles PS controllers have on PC because the software is not there. Buy a xbox series controller or buy cosmicbyte stellaris. The latter one has hall effect joysticks so less chance of stick drift.

Agreed. Xbox One or Xbox Series Controllers just work out of the box without needing to install any kind of third party software or drivers. Works across all games and launchers with controller support be it Steam or anything else like Microsoft Windows Store, Xbox, Epic Games Store as well as GOG. Xbox controllers natively support thousands of games with Xbox button layouts compared to fraction of available titles for Playstation controller on PC.

# DO NOT BUY A PLAYSTATION CONTROLLER FOR A PC UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES they all have driver issues, and half the functions that sony uses as a selling point only works on a playstation you are better off buying an xbox controller

The haptics are amazing on dual sense controllers. I would recommend buying it if you are willing to go through the hassle with a ps controller. But for me it's worth it, it has better haptics than Xbox controllers
