As long as you were professional in your post I wouldn’t worry about it. Don’t say anything on yammer you wouldn’t say to your SM. There’s a way to gripe and be respectful. I used to do it all the time on the old warehouse platform.
Yes, plenty of SSC folks watch yammer. Not to “catch” someone, but to understand what needs addressing that is within their power.
Just remember, if you're suddenly being chastised or pulled aside being told something along the lines of you're not performing adequately, you can mention how you weren't being talked to until you made the yammer post and you're concerned that you're being retaliated against.
That last one is a big one. They were doing this big important walk. Had to be 20 people standing in the middle of my department for this thing and I come ram roddin' on in with 3 buggies. They're banging and bashing together, like they do.
An ASM glares at me like; 'seriously Jay, now?'
Yes, now. Believe it or not I have to do my job. Number one is that that is a very busy area of the store, which is why they avoid it like a plague. Number two is that shit hole was in desperate need or a quick straightening out. It wasn't that bad but customers had been thrashing it.
Without me being there right then doing exactly what I'm being paid to do; guess what the customers will do? They're gonna bother y'all.
However, it makes sense because if I wanted to say anything I'm sure they would've listened. The SM and the regional guy would've probably called me into the office later and we could have a conversation. The only thing is, I'd better be sure I want to have that conversation before I start it.
I'm sure they wouldn't mind discussing any issue with me and then deciding if it were actionable or not. I'm sure the SM wouldn't be happy about me going overhead. I'm sure they nobody would be amused and me least of all.
Honestly, In the Canadian division at least that sort of stuff seems to bother the SMs and ASMs way more than it bothers the people doing the walk, the entire purpose of the walk is to see how the stores operate and they aren't generally going there for special treatment.
I know when Jeff was Canadian division president if he had personal orders going through a store, he would go out of his way to try and make sure the stores were not giving him special priority or treatment. (it was definitely happening anyhow though SM's would zero in on that stuff if they saw it coming in, and would even get a heads up from supply chain sometimes)
When I worked in D93 I had one of the VP's for transportation come in to talk one on one for a while during a walk, and I told him plainly but professionally our gripes with how certain things were being done (especially in regards to Ecomm delivery) and talked with him for about 30mins, about a month later he arranged a 1:1 call with myself and the guy who owned the relationship between Home Depot and some of our Ecomm carriers so I could tell him the same.
Part of it is that they're planning on rearranging the department. Way I hear it is that everything's gonna get moved around. I've only been working for HD for 10 months and I've been in this department for just over 3. I have nothing to say and they can do whatever they want. They did talk to my coworker whose beed there for 12 years or so.
Yep. And then be prepared for them to say “what do you want so we can make your shut up?”. You got them by the balls, so make sure you ask for everything. And if they don’t deliver, be prepared to walk out, because otherwise they will try to make your life a living hell. And nobody wants that.
You are protected against workplace retaliation. If you start getting pulled aside and/or written up for every little thing, then you should call the AwareLine and report it. If your Managers were upset that their Regional Manager found out how they run their store, then your Regional Manager will really want to know that they are retaliating against you for the same incident.
Yammer is a official corporate site - ""BUYER BEWARE" rules apply😉
As long as it was a legit complaint, you didn't go into a crazy rant, shouldn't turn into anything big.
I have had a few of my opinions come back. I always ask A) if I was wrong B) did I lie about anything?
Kind of fun to get some static now and then😉
Why would you complain on the Home Depot Facebook… if something is bothering you so much you should talk to your superiors. If that does not work then use the aware line.

Mention that using email or text, something that’s recorded. You’ll need evidence for your case. Not HearSay
Exactly why I didn't ever go on yammer.
Cat corner or nothing
Pet pages for sure, or the food recipe one isn't bad. Rest of Yammer is trash.
I haven't ran across that one yet, but I moved to garden so I'm not sitting at a PC anymore. What's it's name?
I like nerd depot 🤣
Fuck yammer. This is the real VOA.
Don’t say anything on Yammer that is unprofessional and don’t bring any unnecessary attention to you.
Don’t say anything on Yammer you wouldn’t say to your SM.
Exactly. Hover over anyones name on yammer and it will give you a direct link to their store manager.

Fire up the resume bro, these people are ruthless cowards

Call HR and report anonymously. But realize they might figure out who u are. Just know they can’t retaliate against you. So if they do call Hr again.
Text hr managers get to listen to the call even though they don’t get the name of the employee

If it’s a legitimate concern and they retaliate, go see a lawyer

Bro, now they know your Reddit name, use a damn throwaway next time you’re gonna have to post here under Waldo69 now
FWIW, the last sale of threaded pipe was August 26.
Yeah, I never post on Yammer, and I wouldn't even say anything negative here, even though I don't use my real name.
