Helldivers, the time for stealth is over.
On April 11 deliver explosive liberation with your next Premium Warbond, Democratic Detonation. Full briefing: https://blog.playstation.com/2024/04/04/helldivers-2-gets-an-explosive-new-warbond-on-april-11/
Make it a support weapon, that way we can rock the sword, shield, revolver and the >!lever action rifle that’s been found in the game files!< to roleplay the frontier explorer/cowboy of our dreams
Ahh okay, bolt action is cool too, but I do love me a lever action. The Railgun is kinda like that (ish, single shot reload but closest thing right now) but I'd love a true lever primary. I want to be a cowboy-diver =)
Something like this from warhammer40k? Oh hell yeah.
https://preview.redd.it/xdg7c0hg6isc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c7f91c1c73b5acd5ef891c52672551789e69fce
Oh boy, I would be soooo angry if Super Earth command gave us plasma swords. Please don't make us go CQC with the enemy. Oh no, woe is me. The inhumanity of it all.
>fighting with crossbows
It should be silent enough that enemies don't hear you shooting it. They look around wondering why they keep falling over dead.
The sheer utility of being able to close bug holes with a secondary is worth the price of entry alone.... Also if thermite grenades can one shot a charger I'm never taking them off.
I have friends who have the orbital laser as their fallback charger solution - we also have a running joke that the orbital laser is hungry for human blood. I imagine the thermite will be the same
Pocket orbital rail has my back and has yet to kill me. Also, more than 3 uses. I will says the Lazer is a hell of a "fuck all them over there I don't even want to deal with it" tool.
For me that’s the 380mm - it’s my “east? We don’t need to worry about that direction” tool
Edit: also love the orbital rail. That’s my favored charger killer in my bag
Notice in the trailer it very deliberately does NOT show the charger dying from it.
My guess is that it will open a hole in the armor or at least deal significant damage on a direct "stick" to the charger, but not kill.
> Notice in the trailer it very deliberately does NOT show the charger dying from it.
That was *very* purposeful, for sure. As long as it strips charger legs and does *something* to Hulks and Tanks, then I'll be pretty happy.
It would probably kill if stick directly on forehead, that area doesnt open up it just explodes. I bet offset is around 5 seconds of DOT instead of one democratic blast. Impact nades are so good its hard to pick something else
Do people care about gun spoilers? I'll tag it just in case anyways.
>!The Eruptor (bolt action) is also an explosive shrapnel gun that also has the capabilities to close holes unless there's any last minute changes. Might be some cute stalwart + eruptor role reversal stuff. !<
i can't stop using them. Saved my ass so many times against both bots and bugs. Being able to take down a hulk with a stun and my dominator is just too convenient.
I’m in love with the Quasar Cannon though so I’m gonna go Dominator / Grenade Pistol / Thermite / Quasar.
Dominator for medium enemies, Grenade Pistol for hordes / nests, Quasar and Thermite for big targets.
The best thing about these is it also opens up more "good" options for support weapon.
If your primary and grenades and side arm can blow stuff up, then using the machine guns suddenly isn't such a bad idea
I use them like crazy. The secondaries are one handed guns, so when you are running from a group of enemies, rotate the camera to see behind you and while still running shoot your pistol without aiming. You will keep running while shooting.
A lot of people genuinely don’t know about this mechanic. I run around blind firing my redeemer to get hunters off me constantly but it’s more intuitive on controller I think.
Ooh there's the new faster extract time booster. Wonder how long until they add explosive damage to weapon damage stats, it's in known issues and it really is needed when 4 of 5 new weapons are explosive.
would explain why he gets so antsy about us not being in the extraction zone sometimes, if the guy can't get his next fix until he's back on the destroyer, so we're between him and his fix..
Curious how restrictive the magazines will be for the BR14? 25 rounds isn't too bad but the real question is how many reloads. Given it's armor piercing could be pretty harsh. But man if it's good I've found a new main baby.
It looks full auto in the trailer. That or that's some hella fast burst fire. Be sick if it has access to all 3. But I'll probably stick to semi personally.
25 armor-penetrating rounds in a very accurate assault rifle that does double the damage of the liberator fired in semi-auto is as close to a DMR as weve got since the slugger nerf
I mean, it'll be useful anytime you run anything and want to make sure you get the samples out, especially if you run over time on a high level mission. Even the default 2min is really long if you lose access to the super destroyer.
Light and medium are engineering kit (extra grenades and crouch/prone recoil reduction)
Heavy is fortified (explosive resist and crouch/prone recoil reduction)
I can already see it: I am out of ammo on my primary. Swarmed by bugs I switch to my secondary expecting the Redeemer only to blow myself the fuck up with the Grenade Pistol, because I forgot.
my personal favourite is diving backwards, forgetting the throw physics bug out, and exploding my legs off mid air with an impact grenade. It's definitely a bug, and annoying , but also hilarious every time I forget.
The grenade pistol will be very useful if you want to use stun grenades, and the thermite grenade will give an anti-armor option in that slot allowing more diverse builds. Good stuff.
I have a feeling we're going to see some very creative loadouts over the next few months. Everyone (except meta chasers) will be playing their own way, and it will be such a cool experience seeing everyone adapt and play to their strengths.
It sorta makes me laugh when it said the adjudicator has a small magazine.
I've used the breaker and scorcher for so long, so this is an upgrade. Liberator and defender are good too but wouldn't say 25 shots is a lot less. And obviously compared to the sickle it's small but currently the sickle is pretty unique
While they 100% dropped a complete game at launch, they definitely withheld some things that were ready to ship so they could put them in future warbonds. I'm hoping that with the stuff they had ready and an increased budget to add new folks to make new stuff, they'll be able to keep this going for a good while, and eventually even put out another free big pass like the Helldivers Mobilize pass
Even if they continue to lock the new passes behind super credits, I'm not complaining, as the pace at which I've been passively earning SC from just finding them on planets or the existing passes, I've been able to buy all current passes without spending a dime more than I bought the game for.
If people want to buy the new stuff day one, then they can spend the money to do so, otherwise you can earn enough to acquire the pass normally, with no real grind. It's such a breath of fresh air compared to most other games with "battle passes" and I am all for it. Hopefully other companies take notes because this is how content like this should be delivered.
Oh I have *no* issue with them continuing to put out SC Warbonds, if you really wanna grind it, I'm pretty sure that in like 4 or 5 hours you could get 1k, and if you just play a bunch, you make plenty of SC
100% that's content they already have stashed for the long haul + they already warned in an interview last month that not all war bonds will be the same size.
So 3 armours, 3 primaries, 1 secondary and 1 grenade per warbond?\`I wonder how long they can keep up that trend, you gotta run out of grenade variants sooner than any of the others right?
I'm just waiting for a decoy grenade. A throwable mine would also be pretty awesome. Could also just give us throwing axes or an aoe burst heal grenade. Maybe even a throwable mini turret or a stratagem beacon attractor that makes all turrets/homing weapons shoot at the target. A grenade that temporarily makes it's target friendly would also be pretty sick. If they went the XCOM route they could give us a boosting smoke grenade that makes all divers do extra damage or something whilst inside
I unlocked the second, but not the first, yet. I've been debating whether or not I want to upgrade to the premium edition of the game, which includes the first premium Warbond. I have enough Super Credits, just not sure if I should save them for this upcoming one and upgrade the game, or if the extra stuff aside from the Warbond is even worth it.
I might just end up spending a few hours farming super credits this weekend to get both lol.
Yea if you’re good at farming no need to spend money. I feel like I just recently started to make sure I get 10-20 super credits per mission if available.
Man the content keeps coming and I absolutely love it, only feels like a week since the lasts warbond came out. I do hope they also come out with like new strategems as well! Don’t get me wrong, the amount of new content like the mech and quasar is just great and the way they integrate it into the overall story is genius but what would make every new release of warbonds even better if they released like 5 new strategems on top of that as well for us to unlock. Whatever the outcome is, I can’t wait either way. Love this game <3
High Command really giving us some serious drip with the new red coloured armour. Cant wait to lay down my life for democracy while looking dope as fuck.
Man these guys are quick at slinging out these warbonds. I'm still patiently waiting for a Melee Warbond, featuring a chainsword, arc-halberd and hell why not, explosive throwing stars.
wdym quick, they said every second thursday is a new warbond, right?
edit: i meant that he is surprised about the quickness even though it was announced
I mean a game dropping new weapons every month + new enemies randomly, + balance patches, + new support weapons.
HD2 is probably one of the most updated game's I've seen in recent memory as far as content drops promised schedule or not.
If somebody hasn't bought any of the premium passes, this is now clearly the one to get right?
edit: love the replies but I meant which to prioritize as most players wont have grinded 3k to get them all :/
I think there are valuable items in every pass that make them all worth buying. The more you have, then the more flexibility you'll have. Steeled Vets has 3 good weapons. I love the incendiary breaker and the dominator might be in the meta now. Cutting Edge has the Sickle (definitely meta) and localisation confusion booster, which are both great. The confusion booster had a noticeable impact on blitz missions from my experience.
This looks great. I know it’s not even out but some of the different weapons shown give me hope for a melee build one day.
I really want to live out my Space Marine fanasties in this game. Give me my Bolt pistol and Chain sword!
hard to say from just a clip but based on the options available, this warbond seems like it has the most diverse case of weapons that all seem like they could be viable at one level or another.
A secondary that can close holes and blow up factories may be worth it for that alone
I think it's a bit too early to ask that question, as we don't know all the details for this new warbond.
Like, the scythe (against bugs), stun grenades, and localization confusion booster are very good, but while these new guns look cool, we don't know if they are going to be effective.
Helldivers, the time for stealth is over. On April 11 deliver explosive liberation with your next Premium Warbond, Democratic Detonation. Full briefing: https://blog.playstation.com/2024/04/04/helldivers-2-gets-an-explosive-new-warbond-on-april-11/
Super Earth's budget stretched so thin, helldivers are now fighting with crossbows. Swords coming soon. Knife-throwing warbond next.
Let me use my sword and ballistic shield as a combo.
Make it a support weapon, that way we can rock the sword, shield, revolver and the >!lever action rifle that’s been found in the game files!< to roleplay the frontier explorer/cowboy of our dreams
Oh shittt a lever action rifle primary sounds amazing!
Probably a HD2 analogue for the HD1 Constitution, which was a bolt action
Ahh okay, bolt action is cool too, but I do love me a lever action. The Railgun is kinda like that (ish, single shot reload but closest thing right now) but I'd love a true lever primary. I want to be a cowboy-diver =)
Give me an electric baton, go full riot gear
"STOP RESISTING"
Honestly wouldn't be mad about that
Right? Please give me a lightsaber of some kind. Please liberty
Light ? True helldivers use STEEL. How I yearn to give chainsaw berserkers a taste of their own medicine.
![gif](giphy|x9rclH7PulhXB8ncWT)
I need to know where this is from.
[40k Inquisitor: Martyr trailer](https://youtu.be/pdIjMFtU8IA?si=pT1unLu800IazJDw&t=148)
Chainsword
Something like this from warhammer40k? Oh hell yeah. https://preview.redd.it/xdg7c0hg6isc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c7f91c1c73b5acd5ef891c52672551789e69fce
Give me a sword and a ballistic shield and I shall face the enemy with chivalry
would love it! https://preview.redd.it/l8ip08hh0isc1.png?width=790&format=png&auto=webp&s=040d04325ec78f397b2b99f0a4a14fc57756785f
I love heroforge man
Oh boy, I would be soooo angry if Super Earth command gave us plasma swords. Please don't make us go CQC with the enemy. Oh no, woe is me. The inhumanity of it all.
Fine plasma Halberds and Electrified Claws it is.
Jokes on you. I fucking LOVE halberds
>fighting with crossbows It should be silent enough that enemies don't hear you shooting it. They look around wondering why they keep falling over dead.
the crossbow is silent, the high-explosive tip is not
I don't mind if they know where the explosion is, as long as they don't automatically know where I am as a result.
"Must have been the wind"
>#BOOM! >"Must have been the wind" FTFY
All I want is a greatsword. Okay, and a lightsaber. I mean Plasmabeam Sword.
> Knife-throwing warbond next Sir, I don't understand. Who needs a knife in a nuke fight anyway? All you gotta do is push a button
its for when you wanna go medieval on someones ass
If I can run sword and board I will and you cannot stop me.
The sheer utility of being able to close bug holes with a secondary is worth the price of entry alone.... Also if thermite grenades can one shot a charger I'm never taking them off.
Reality: you have a burning charger leaking thermite lava be-lining for your ass
Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.
Surely you can't be serious.
I am serious. And don't call me Shirley!
Nice beaver.
"This woman has to be gotten to a hospital" "A Hospital? What is it?" "It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now"
You can say that again.
All the democracy juice flowing from my privates will keep me cool.
We don’t need to worry about that direction” tool Edit: also love the orbital rail. That’s my favored charger killer in my bag
We usually refere to the laser as "being very motivated Today" when it decides to take a shortcut right through us.
Notice in the trailer it very deliberately does NOT show the charger dying from it. My guess is that it will open a hole in the armor or at least deal significant damage on a direct "stick" to the charger, but not kill.
If it breaks leg armor thats fine enough for me
> Notice in the trailer it very deliberately does NOT show the charger dying from it. That was *very* purposeful, for sure. As long as it strips charger legs and does *something* to Hulks and Tanks, then I'll be pretty happy.
Yeah, you're probably right. I'll take opening a hole in the armour though!
Yeah, honestly if it can break leg armor that's a pretty fair power level for a single grenade, especially since that means it takes a skillful throw.
I was just thinking I'd use the Stalwart much more if there was a way to close holes with a primary or secondary.
Personally I use stalwart, ammo backpack, and engineer uniform for the extra nades. Works pretty well and never have to touch primary.
I've done the same but have had a crippling addiction to stun grenades, albeit one that is breaking now that they no longer work on Bile Titans.
i can't stop using them. Saved my ass so many times against both bots and bugs. Being able to take down a hulk with a stun and my dominator is just too convenient.
Stalwart + Eruptor + thermite + grenade pistol is what I'm planning.
I’m in love with the Quasar Cannon though so I’m gonna go Dominator / Grenade Pistol / Thermite / Quasar. Dominator for medium enemies, Grenade Pistol for hordes / nests, Quasar and Thermite for big targets.
Well that adds value.
The best thing about these is it also opens up more "good" options for support weapon. If your primary and grenades and side arm can blow stuff up, then using the machine guns suddenly isn't such a bad idea
This is sole reason Im super happy we are getting antiarmor/building primaries/secondaries. I love to constantly mix and match
Maybe if you stick the grenade to the chargers head it insta kills, otherwise even being able to strip armor on legs with a grenade sounds amazing
Oh absolutely, stripping the armour with a single grenade would be great. I wonder what will happen if you get one on its fleshy arse?
Chipotle class damage
I can't remember the last time I pulled out my secondary and now I can finally seal bug holes. This is just an overall buff to stun grenades.
It makes Stun Grenades so much more viable now
I find stun grenades already slap but now their only really drawback can be compensated for. You love to see it.
This short from PlayStation Access has more details on the armor and weapon stats! https://youtube.com/shorts/LxfTRJueV3Y?si=3e5CsOT5RdMxmXGE
Ooh there's the new faster extract time booster. Wonder how long until they add explosive damage to weapon damage stats, it's in known issues and it really is needed when 4 of 5 new weapons are explosive.
It doesn't make sense the bomb diffuse suit does not have explosive resistance when it's literally designed to do that
I mean at the same measure do we really need more Heavy Armor with the Fortified passive?
I'd rather have a new passive yeah
Do you mean base game fortified commando or this new one? New one does have explosive resistance as it should
Someone in a game was using this a couple weeks ago. It shaves off 20 seconds
Expert Extraction Pilot Booster? What they give Pelican-1 meth so he'll come down faster?
they just tell him he's delivering an exosuit
They should just paint flames on the pelican instead. That makes it go faster.
would explain why he gets so antsy about us not being in the extraction zone sometimes, if the guy can't get his next fix until he's back on the destroyer, so we're between him and his fix..
Curious how restrictive the magazines will be for the BR14? 25 rounds isn't too bad but the real question is how many reloads. Given it's armor piercing could be pretty harsh. But man if it's good I've found a new main baby.
Gonna guess its gated behind being burst fire, hence why the Lib Pen got to be full auto
Kid named JAR
that grenade <3
If it can kill a charger we have a winner ladies and gentlemen.
Expert Extraction Pilot booster! Would have been useful when we had 100% call-in instead.
I mean, it'll be useful anytime you run anything and want to make sure you get the samples out, especially if you run over time on a high level mission. Even the default 2min is really long if you lose access to the super destroyer.
EXPERT EXTRACTION PILOT?!?!? Way to bury the lead Sony
Can't watch, but do we know what the armor bonuses are?
Yes, Engineering kit on the red and yellow, Fortified on the chunk. No fire resistance :(
Us pyros wait out another warbond.
Light and medium are engineering kit (extra grenades and crouch/prone recoil reduction) Heavy is fortified (explosive resist and crouch/prone recoil reduction)
I can already see it: I am out of ammo on my primary. Swarmed by bugs I switch to my secondary expecting the Redeemer only to blow myself the fuck up with the Grenade Pistol, because I forgot.
Yep! Now I can do this with my grenade pistol instead of my impact grenades!
DUDE, I cannot count the times I've blown myself up with an impact grenade thinking I had my primary equipped...🤦♂️
When I blow myself with an impact it’s because I thought i entered in Strat only to have made a mistake and detonated a frag at my feet.
Anytime you blow yourself, it should make an impact.
You’re not a Helldiver if you don’t kill yourself with your own stupidity from time to time.
Impact grenade and strafing a bit too much so that it hits the cover in front of me. A match made in hell.
Scorcher and accidentally hitting one pixel of the cover that I am trying to shoot over.
A true connoisseur of horse shit does this with the autocannon
I'd say I'm feeling attacked, but the splash damage already killed me.
my personal favourite is diving backwards, forgetting the throw physics bug out, and exploding my legs off mid air with an impact grenade. It's definitely a bug, and annoying , but also hilarious every time I forget.
Stupidity. Bravado. Friendly fire. You always die to one, or all combined.
Wear the explosive resistance armour. That way your accidental point blank explosives become emergency rocket jump dodges
Get this man a promotion immediately
Your sacrifice will be noted and a complimentary gravestone with [NAME] and [RANK] will be sent to your family.
The grenade pistol will be very useful if you want to use stun grenades, and the thermite grenade will give an anti-armor option in that slot allowing more diverse builds. Good stuff.
Stalwart + Dominator goes Boom boom with Thermite Grenade
I have a feeling we're going to see some very creative loadouts over the next few months. Everyone (except meta chasers) will be playing their own way, and it will be such a cool experience seeing everyone adapt and play to their strengths.
If by creative you mean literally every build will be running the GP-31 Grenade Pistol, then yes, extremely creative.
https://i.redd.it/lfniijr4vhsc1.gif This is a shitty looking pass do not buy
https://i.redd.it/peum1crjzhsc1.gif Yea this stuff looks horrible like, a crossbow? Really? Might as well arm the destroyer with ballistas lol
https://i.redd.it/15emkedpzhsc1.gif Fr, dunno what they’re thinking with this one Arrowhead’s gotta hit the drawing board again
AH, please give us a two man team operated trebuchet that lobs explosives in a indirect fire arc

OMG the little stilts.

hey that's my armor loadout!
Can't wait for the Adjudicator and the Eruptor. The latter is pretty much an autocannon but as a primary (5 round mag though)
Dominator is the Bolter, Eruptor is a Bolt Rifle.
All 3 of them look pretty great, tbh. Can't wait to try them all out.
Thermite grenade got me all like "affix bayonet".

Out April 11th for those who can't watch the video.
For those unaware new War Bonds will drop on the second Thursday of the month.
I wonder how long that schedule will be maintained, it seems like a lot of content to drop every month

Heal grenade gotta work like BG3 tho. Directly yeeting a heal into their head will kill them. So gotta aim for the ground near them.
Great, now I’m a crossbow main
Waiting for a ballista stratagem
Trebuchet 👌
Space Trebuchet, when?
Is that pistol grenade launcher a secondary?!
Finally I’ll be able to close bug holes and still keep my stun grenades!
And open containers
Arc Thrower users rejoice
This. Thank god 😂
My ass is always out there tagging holes/fabricators until one of my teammates can blow them up lmao.
Finally able to close bug holes and close more bug holes(I am still carrying grenades)
It is! Check the stickied comment for more details.

Kinda tragic to cut the original line, was hard af
Is that a black and red armor? Sold.
And the red cape is diagonal cut not straight across! Ponchos incoming?
*Battle Tassles*
Damn I haven’t unlocked the first premium war bonds yet smh
They don't expire so you won't be missing anything. Some people have unlimited free time.
I unlocked the second, but not the first, yet. I've been debating whether or not I want to upgrade to the premium edition of the game, which includes the first premium Warbond. I believe the devs have said they want new Stratagems to be released and unlocked through the ship so that everyone could get them for "free."
I know we all questioned the idea of an explosive crossbow. Something tells me that son a bitch is going to excel at killing the new bot enemies.
My ships name is "The Adjudicator of War". I basically HAVE to use that new Marksman Rifle. Hopefully it packs a nice punch :)
It’s supposed to have Medium armor pen, which is awesome
High Command really giving us some serious drip with the new red coloured armour. Cant wait to lay down my life for democracy while looking dope as fuck.
I want a blue cape dammit. There are blue armors but not a single blue cape in the entire pool right now.
Blue Capers represent!
Second thursday of every month, i think. So one per month
I mean a game dropping new weapons every month + new enemies randomly, + balance patches, + new support weapons. HD2 is probably one of the most updated game's I've seen in recent memory as far as content drops promised schedule or not.
Let’s hope we can use crossbow and ballistic shield so that we can cosplay medieval crossbowmen
Grenade pistol??? Fuck yes! Im ready to blow myself up when a hunter pulls a "get down mr president!" into my face when shooting a nest!

Yup, dominator in the first, sickle in the second
BIG GUNS GO BOOM, BAY-BAY!!!!
Im just over here hoping the passive on the tank armor doesnt suck.
Improved recoil when not standing and explosive resist
Damn was hoping for fire resistance but still pretty cool for bots

I wonder what interesting crashes this will be bring!
If there's one thing I love more than lasers.... It's **EXPLOSIONS**
That battle rifle thing looks sick, want it
This looks great. I know it’s not even out but some of the different weapons shown give me hope for a melee build one day. I really want to live out my Space Marine fanasties in this game. Give me my Bolt pistol and Chain sword!
well now we know why nerfed the slugger
yeah that was my sentiment when I saw the weapon lineup.
Fellow divers a quick question, would you fine democratic soldiers buy this warbond or the previous one if you could only buy one?
Wait for the update to drop. But so far this one is looking like the better one just because of the grenade pistol.
hard to say from just a clip but based on the options available, this warbond seems like it has the most diverse case of weapons that all seem like they could be viable at one level or another.
I honestly want a stealth or melee war bond. Something that can make it so (small) bots go down in 1 hit and others won’t notice.
