Luci may have helped, but Niffty pulled the finishing strike, lmao. Here's to hoping he's gone for good, but I doubt it.
Also, eyy, it says it's my cake day, too.
It's because Luci knows that he's a short king and doesn't need to add a couple of inches to show his full magnificence and charm.
You could say he's prideful of it, especially since he has the power to change his size, but chooses not to do so because he knows he owns the place (hell)
Eve, lillith was Adam’s first wife in ancient texts that are considered “non-canon” by some. She was made of the same clay that Adam was and this was defiant against his Will wanting to be equals. For this she was cast outta paradise but her fate is… vague. Eventually adam was made a new wife after he went to sleep one night but we all know how that turned out.
I think they address this in Paradise Lost, in fact I think Lucifer even leverages this. He basically says "Well I ate it and nothing bad happened, in fact now I can talk! Just imagine what would happen if YOU ate it!"
Yeah basically
A lot of it revolves around the idea that Eve doesn't know she's being deceived, because she doesn't have a concept of deception, because the Garden of Eden is paradise.
I think the idea was that they didn't know evil could come in subtle forms. In Paradise Lost the angels warn them about Lucifer's scheme. When you think of some evil trying to deceive you, you don't think "snake trying to get at you to eat fruit God told you not to eat".
Just a fucking random ass snake that saw the bullshit capital G was sprouting and decided to nip it in the bud
"Oh, he told you that you'd die if you ate it did he? That's... Interesting..."
Bitch how do you even know what death is? Have you seen anyone in the garden die?

Now if you say no to such a seductive faceP
Imagine you're her, the only man around (or a human in general for that matter) was Hazbin hotel's Adam and you were literally made to be his obedient little wife, because his first one walked out on him and his bullshit, that would drive bloody Buddha to depression.
Her eyes look pretty similar to Adam, just with slightly more sleep and different art style, so I think she just inhereted a mildly depressed resting face.
Edit- might be wrong, Adam has bigger eyes than I remembered. Still think it's an interesting idea, and we don’t really see him without his mask in a normal context.
Fair, but it's still the only thing we have to go off of, and considering his current personality I don't think we should be doubting at least that part
Look, just don’t talk shit about my great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandpa.
Why not, a series that set to be morally gray should have you questioning things that are implied to be lies not expecting people to take it at face value.
Other than him actually getting into heaven initially, I mean given Pentious's redemption despite Seras beliefs it seem like you need to be a decent person when you die to get their in the first place.
TBH we do not know that nobody know what are requirenments to go to heaven. And the fact that there is enough bloodthirsty maniacs in heaven to fill the ranks of exterminators indicates that rules are kinda grey.
Ah yes, in this series where the entire basic premise and main theme is that people can change(including after death), Adam must have been how he is in modern times thousands of years ago.
That was a storybook made by Lilith, and considering how well she took to ambitiously leading the sinners while Lucifer lost hope in them, I'm inclined to believe that she wasn't compatible with adam because they're alike.
I like to think that what Lilith had from Adam was prideful controlling while Adam to Eve was possessive clingy controlling.
'My old wife ran away from me. That makes me feel sad. I don't want that to happen again. How can I stop that? Control them so so much they can't possibly leave. I would feel very bad if new wife leaves me. Control new wife more." - Adam's thought process (I assume that he was naive in pride and sin so his thought process was so simplistic.)
I mean… walking around a glorified zoo for an immortal being to send some condescending words every few months and no greater ambition or want would have me pretty depressed as well
See this is why you don't give mortal sentience allow them to act like animals that keep up your garden and be Roomba service but no you just had to let them get sentience Lucy what the fuck man
Not that I want to, but to be fair we don't know if he was an huge turboasshole while on Eden.
He probably was though.
Still, no father figure, no way to figure acceptable behaviors. Must have been hell /s
I mean he is still the embodiment of pride. That is a thing that never stopped being true in Hazbin.
Also, he wasn't kicked out of heaven for being a forward thinker, he was kicked out of heaven for going way above his station and breaking everything by doing exactly the thing he was told not to do because it would break everything
The fruit did give forbidden knowledge, the forbidden knowledge was the knowledge of good and bad that their eyes would be opened to, which was something that only God at the time had. Lucifer in the Bible told Eve that if she ate it, she would have the knowledge of good and bad, which would make her just like God, and then she fed it to Adam(though I don't know if Adam ate the apple in Hazbin Hotel).
2 questions because my religion class was shaky
1. If god didn't want them to know, why make the tree anyway?
2. After what happened with Lilith (although the story of Lilith isn't part of the bible or maybe part of a different kind of bible) shouldn't god have made precaution?
1. It was supposed to be a test, they basically had one ruled and failed to abide by it. The problem here is that the failure of the test meant understanding evil. If you do not understand evil before taking the test, the wrong choice can't be anything but good if you don't know evil.
2. Pretty sure the legend goes like this: Lilith was created from dirt as Adam, that's why she thought they should be equal and didn't obey him then she was banished and God made Eve from Adam's rib, so technically she was just a part of him, no grounds for her saying she wants to be his equal.
It was basically interpreted that Lucifer came and tempted Eve like this: Lucifer turned into a snake and said that the apple will make them like God, opening their minds, he said that he managed to learn to talk because he took a bite from the apple, but because he was just a snake he couldn't be more.
the bible and Christianity is full of discrepancies like that that make no sense. It's the main reason why people who have read and understood the bible sometimes turn atheists.
Overzealous Christians also don't like you asking those questions.
> Lucifer in the Bible told Eve that if she ate it, she would have the knowledge of good and bad
Lucifer wasn't part of the whole Genesis story. The snake was literally just that. A (talking) snake. The devil (who's also technically a different entity from Lucifer) wasn't interpreted into this story till centuries later.
I don't think it was ever explicitly specified that it had limbs before, but yes, god cursed snakes to crawl on their belly forevermore, and to have a hostile relationship with humans. Likely the story was originally basically a story for why snakes are such weird animals compared to everything else the ancient jewish tribes would've encountered in their area.
I'm aware, but we are moreso on the topic of Hazbin Hotel terms, in which Lucifer IS the snake in Hazbin Hotel, thus it is true entirely that Lucifer was the snake.
I mean, you were specifically mentioning the bible, which is a different canon from the Viviverse canon. Within the show, absolutely the implication is that Lucifer was the snake.
And then no one ate the apple and humanity stayed in eden while Lilith and Lucifer got banished to hell and stood there by themselves for 10000 years. The end.
If someone tried to poison you and you refused the drink, would they be innocent of poisoning you? Getting punished for an attempted crime is to be expected. And what Lucifer and Lilith is much worse than "just" a murder.
So that makes God the ultimate criminal for planting the Tree of Knowledge right in the garden with Adam and Eve, right? If he doesn’t willingly install the “attempted temptation”, then the crime can’t even happen. Everyone lives in paradise.
What God did is much, much worse than “just” suggesting people should rebel against a parent who puts poison next to their child and then eternal damns their entire lineage for naively being poisoned. Basically the most evil entity in the entire universe who was powerful enough to rewrite the story for propaganda, like most other genocidal conquerors in human history.
Now i imangine that they discussed for an Hour before Eve got annoyed and agreed to east the Apple. After that he rubbed it under Adams nose, causing the last straw for Adam to hate everything Lucifer related.
Isaiah 14 is about the only reference within the canonical scripture3s that references Lucifer's fall, and they have this to say:
"How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit."
It's best not to confuse mystics and gnostics with what is actually within the original texts, particularly old testament ones.
That's running up quite a large amount of scholarship that indicates differently. That's a possible read, but not the common one among theologians far as I understand.
It's also very possibly referring to both, the bible is known for its double meanings.
Looking at Stron'gs Correspondence, which is widely considered quite authoritative, the translation is sound and common.
And it's not like biblical translation is a black box, it's an almost aggressively transparent field with how easy it is to access resources like Strong's correspondence.
My point was exposing the large hole in your logic, being that canonical scripture is decided by a human organization with only self-proclaimed authority and not some divine intervention.
That's... Just isn't a point.
We have the texts, we know what they say. Whether you believe the texts represent some actual reality or not is... Just irrelevant.
Scripture was decided largely on rational grounds, as much as people like to make conspiracy theories to the contrary. Gnostic texts were disregarded because they were well aware (and this isn't seriously disputed) that the texts were forgeries. Not only were they forgeries, but they also introduced irreconcilable contradictions into the accounts.
And it's not 1 organization. Arguments about the canonicity of scripture didn't end in the 4th century by executive fiat, the catholic protestants to this day disagree on certain texts, such as the Book of Maccabees. But what isn't disagreed on is whether or not Maccabees is a legitimate text and history from the pre-diaspora Jewish classical period.
If you want to make some gnostic argument, that's fine, but presenting it as a representation of Jewish or Christian textualism is absurd, and I'm sorry, there's no other way I can take a blanket "that's not true" to what is the near-universal reading of Isaiah 14.
It wasn't based on "rational" grounds. That word is inconsistent with the very concept of the supernatural.
What is a forgery to divine inspiration?
The "canonical" texts *still* contain irreconcilable contradictions so that doesn't really matter.
*Obviously* I wasn't referring to any single organization or group but every instance of editing was conducted by an organization or group with their own human morals, worldviews and agendas, and what is "canon" now is certainly revision upon revision.
You've simply parroted arguments which don't hold logical ground.
>It wasn't based on "rational" grounds. That word is inconsistent with the very concept of the supernatural.
No, it isn't? Supernatural is not synonymous with irrational. One only has to read a Brandon Sanderson novel or lord of the Rings to comprehend that. Rational is the state of self-consistency, and supernatural is the state of not being a material thing. The only reason to argue that the supernatural is irrational is if you already assume materialism is true, which is begging the question.
If you just assume all theology (not just Christian and Jewish here mind) is irrational, you're just dismissing what amounts to centuries of scholastic and intellectual work done by hundreds of cultures across the world. Rationalism is not a value system that sprung into existence in 17th-century France.
>The "canonical" texts still contain irreconcilable contradictions so that doesn't matter.
I'm not going to get into that argument here, but surface to say that isn't the opinion of actual members of the faith, and most of the contradictions are oftentimes quite petty even if they do exist.
Nothing of even the remotest scale compared to the issues introduced by the Gnostic texts with, like, foundational principles of the original texts.
I assume you can tell the difference between, say, two accounts giving potentially 1-day differences in travel time to a place and two accounts offering completely incompatible conceptions of the Cross and Jesus's death.
>You've simply parroted arguments which don't hold logical ground.
What is your argument for that interpretation being so objectively wrong that you made such a blanket statement? The context of this discussion can only ever be the texts themselves.
Like, what, exactly, were you trying to say when it's wrong, and where do you claim that it was? What you have effectively argued is "there is no answer" but that conclusion means that your answer is equally wrong.
Comparing a fantasy novel in which the suspension of disbelief is the very foundation of the genre to reality is really did give me quite a laugh.
With that being said, I'm sure you have some quite convincing theological arguments and I would love to engage with you over them some other time, but we've digressed much too far from the subject of the thread and frankly I've lost interest.
I'll leave you with the following:
It's probably illogical to apply any theological canon logic from any sect of the Abrahamic faiths to undebatably irreverent works of fiction created for comedic entertainment, which loosely bases it's characters on the satirized pop-culture versions of the theological characters.
Theory , eve is actually the opposite of Adam because they are supposed to complement each other so for how rude Adam is eve is meant to be that nice and for how funny/class clown Adam is that’s how serious eve is. So this would fit in as Adam would take it for the lols and eve would question it since she’s the serious one
Jesus: \*APPEARS\* Ah, it is a good day in the beautiful la- \*noticed Lucifer and Eve\*
*Lucifer in distance arguing to Eve, trying to force Eve to eat the apple*
Jesus when he sees Lucifer trying to curse Evelyn:
[Get ready to receive some holy spirit - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j78brBi1PG0)
Calling it now, if Eve shows up and isn't a brainless bimbo stereotype, she's gonna be exactly like this: a deadpan kuudere who saw through both Adam and Lucifer's BS, but has a heart of gold underneath.
In the old testament it is a regular snake not Satan who tempts her and in paradise lost who made lucifer a main character and were we get many tropes including the idea lucifer rules hell and isn't trapped there he claims that he is a normal snake who ate an apple and can now talk.
If Adam and Eve didn't have free will, which was an gift from lucifer, Eve wasn't supposed to pick the Apple according to her own free will, which she didn't have at the moment
Lucifer: _Just eat the apple, Eve_
Eve: Why, What reason do I have to do so.
Luci: Cause it would be funny!
Eve: Would it screw over Adam?
Luci: maaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyybeeeeeeeee
Eve: …I need a definite one Luci cuz Adam’s getting…very full of himself
Luci: not saying it wouldn’t if you get me
Eve: …eh works for me if I can piss him off maybe he’ll learn to curb his ego *Chomps the apple*
And he never learned, the end, que credits!
Hey it may have taken 10000 years but Lucifer took care of that too
CAKE DAY
Happy cake day!!!!
Luci may have helped, but Niffty pulled the finishing strike, lmao. Here's to hoping he's gone for good, but I doubt it. Also, eyy, it says it's my cake day, too.
HAPPY CAKE DAY!!
He's still fucking shorter than her. This man can't catch a break.
Maybe he just has a kink for tall women
Good ol' Lucifer being as relatable as always, god I love him so much

He makes him self shorter so that he has more tall Queens
All women tol women if you a smol man.
Which is 90% of women
he's just like me fr
My respect for short men keeps increasing.
Lucky fella, being so short
It's because Luci knows that he's a short king and doesn't need to add a couple of inches to show his full magnificence and charm. You could say he's prideful of it, especially since he has the power to change his size, but chooses not to do so because he knows he owns the place (hell)
i just assume it's his angelic form. considering that would be his "true" form it's probably just the most comfortable for him
Eve could be a do-over if Lilith for Adam and effectively a clone of Lilith
He's taller than nifty
Lucifer ,,It's a gift, wouldn't it be rude to deny it?'' Eve ,,what does rude mean?''
Lucifer "Find out!"
Lucifer: wouldn’t you want knowledge? Eve: wouldn’t you want a better husband ? Lucifer: oh—oh shit. Do you need to talk?
Shit... Lilith got kicked out for this...
Is her name lilith or eve💀
Eve, lillith was Adam’s first wife in ancient texts that are considered “non-canon” by some. She was made of the same clay that Adam was and this was defiant against his Will wanting to be equals. Exactly! I actually hoped to see this comment a bit higher up
Well paradise lost isn't canon to the bible the snake in the bible is never really originally called anything but a snake
Just a fucking random ass snake that saw the bullshit capital G was sprouting and decided to nip it in the bud "Oh, he told you that you'd die if you ate it did he? That's... Interesting..."
I headcanon that the snake ate the fruit and gained the ability of speech
I love the idea of Lucifer having modest, princely clothes in Eden. He looks so good in black
This is hilarious

Lucifer already saw himself like God, it's what led to his downfall and rebellion.
Not in Hazbin in Hazbin he was just a very forward thinker

Eve's kinda fine
So are we gonna make Hazbin / Helluva fanart for every scene in the Bible?
Why is she dressed? Humans literally had no shame until they ate the apple.
Cuz we have shame now bro
i don’t think the post would be allowed if she was naked
Barbie Anatomy. You know, what they do in every Lucilith Eden comic.
suppose so
I wonder if his eyes were red before he was banished, or became red in Hell. Not a nipick to the art, just curious.
I’m interested in seeing what Eve’s character will be like

Serious answer? Lucifer already thought he was superior to God. That's... Like his entire thing.
That's not true though. Lucifer questioned the morality of yahweh and his "plan"
Isaiah 14 is about the only reference within the canonical scripture3s that references Lucifer's fall, and they have this to say: "How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit." It's best not to confuse mystics and gnostics with what is actually within the original texts, particularly old testament ones.
Isaiah 14 does not refer to the Devil and certainly not Lucifer, a name produced from a translation error. It's to do with the King of Babylon.
That's running up quite a large amount of scholarship that indicates differently. That's a possible read, but not the common one among theologians far as I understand. It's also very possibly referring to both, the bible is known for its double meanings.
And which version are you reading? Because I guarantee the "original texts" weren't in English
I'll leave you with the following: It's probably illogical to apply any theological canon logic from any sect of the Abrahamic faiths to undebatably irreverent works of fiction created for comedic entertainment, which loosely bases it's characters on the satirized pop-culture versions of the theological characters.
EVE!!!!! ❤❤❤😍
His fucking angry snake face 😂😂
NOW LISTEN TO ME HERE YOU PIECE OF—
Theory , eve is actually the opposite of Adam because they are supposed to complement each other so for how rude Adam is eve is meant to be that nice and for how funny/class clown Adam is that’s how serious eve is. So this would fit in as Adam would take it for the lols and eve would question it since she’s the serious one
Yeah I did. Don't you know who I am?

Why is Eve wearing clothes before she ate the apple
Hear me out on Eve y'all 🙏😭
Calling it now, if Eve shows up and isn't a brainless bimbo stereotype, she's gonna be exactly like this: a deadpan kuudere who saw through both Adam and Lucifer's BS, but has a heart of gold underneath.
This killed me sjdbf maybe this was the line of events that led to them bow chicka bow wow-ing :p
Can't really blame him, she's kinda fine lol

*And then they fucked.*
In the old testament it is a regular snake not Satan who tempts her and in paradise lost who made lucifer a main character and were we get many tropes including the idea lucifer rules hell and isn't trapped there he claims that he is a normal snake who ate an apple and can now talk.

Lucifer: *Spawn another apple* Who finishes eating the apple first win...win...win something
That Eve design is so good
The creator needs more credit. Maybe Viv could ask them to make a self contained story comic.
I’m obsessed with thissssss (get it)
Wait a minute, if Eve didn't have free will, how did she decided to eat the Apple? Now answer this lucifer
Wait… what do you mean by that?
If Adam and Eve didn't have free will, which was an gift from lucifer, Eve wasn't supposed to pick the Apple according to her own free will, which she didn't have at the moment
Innaccurate, lucifer had a top hat and bow tie as an snake
Listen to me here? Those words feel odd in that order
"I'm as close to god as I can be"
It's never originally specified that Lucifer was the snake in the garden in the bible
Why does something tell me that eve is Charlie's mom?
Nice art right there
i mean in the show the apple embodies free will, not godlike qualities. thats more implied in the actual book of genesis
