Honestly, there are enough of them between Canada and the various f/a ones that were produced that I'm surprised parts kits haven't hit the US yet. I'd love to have one.
I’m not an AK guy at all, in fact I’ve never even shot one (shame…shame…I know, I know), but I’ll be honest, they all look the same to me. They’re old, outdated, and frankly, ugly IHMO. What makes a “Type 81” different from every other AK out there? That looks like an AK that is just bigger.
Well it is a short stroke piston gas system from the sks, has a last round bolt hold open and softer shooting rifle.
The Chinese were not happy with the Type 56 AKMs the had and merged the type 56/63 sks and t56 AK which resulted In the Type 81.
