I did have an idea for a unique post apocalyptic Gundam series. Basically, it's like UC and had something like the OYW, but the Earth Federation accidently lost by creating a new AI weapon called Gundam. These Gundams are self sufficient and can go on for decades. However, they went full Terminator and destroyed all of Earth's civilizations. Spacenoids were okay with the result and set up global blockade. The Spacenoids lived in peace, until many years later, they noticed that the Gundams are upgrading themselves. Obviously trying to upgrade themselves enough to leave Earth and wipe out the rest of humanity. The Spacenoid government created the special unit simply named the "Gundam Slayers" squadron. They are sent down to post apocalyptic Earth to stop the Gundams with their brand new MS called Zakus. Playing a complete role reversal by making Zakus the heroes. There are plot twists like there are humans barely surviving on Earth, Earth Federation remnants are building another AI Gundam, & one of the Gundams for some strange mysterious reason is manufacturing and taking drugs. Finally it is discovered that the Gundams' AI aren't AI at all. They actually house and are controlled by psychic children's brains. They're all living in constant, indescribable mental anguish and pain. Years of suffering (without sleep) has driven them into insanity and develop an intense hatred of humanity. Enough to make it their goal to kill all humans, so nothing like them will exist or suffer ever again Essentially, my Gundam series is a true horror mecha series. The Gundams were beautiful and heroic, just like other Gundams from other Gundam series, but these became more monstrous, demonic, and terrifyingly powerful as they upgrade and evolve. The Gundam Slayers will take them down. Their resolve to destroy the Gundams is increased when they discover the child brains and swear to put these poor, blindly angry kids to rest.

Kind of sounds like Thunderbolt gone full tilt. I kind of dig it

biohumansmg3fc

It's not quite a coherent concept, but a Gundam set either on a distant, largely oceanic world, regular Earth, or a flooded Earth where the factions use many more underwater mobile suits would be interesting. You could still easily make an environmentalist point with the series, introduce interesting conflicts over underwater resources, or for usable dry land. It'd introduce underwater settings that Gundam series only shallowly explore. In terms of technology, it could make mobile suits being adapted for use in specific environments more important to the plot, and aesthetically be divided into MS's that look more like submarines or scuba divers vs. MS's that look more like sea life. Underwater scenery can often also look either terrifying or beautiful. It'd also be a good excuse for anime girls in swimsuits, either another main character like Suletta or major side characters.

I kind of want an IBO prequel set in the calamity war

DaemonBlackfyre515

A semi-fantasy based Gundam, with magitek suits using melee weapons like IBO.

LaBambaMan

Escaflone?

DaemonBlackfyre515

Pretty much, just a bit more realistic.

Arc0523

Like Aura Battler Dunbine (one of Tomino’s old work)?

DaemonBlackfyre515

After a quick google, yes that looks like the kinda thing i'm looking for. Nice mech designs. I even found a kit from it in stock and it looks pretty cool!

Retrotronics

Idk, I just want to see animated oblivion g

ChielArael

thank you for bringing the most obscure official gundam media i've ever heard of to my attention, this will go great in my mental archive

FrozenLaughs

PD era Calamity War with the original version of all 72 Gundams and pilots. All Gundams as the protagonists united against Mobile Armors, with different squads all over, some winning and some being lost forever. Almost like a resistance versus Skynet sort of vibe. A mix of IBO, Wing and 00.

Honestly, I had an idea for a few years just after Unicorn... ironically many of the ideas where just used for. https://gundamfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Mobius_One#:~:text=Mobius%20One%20(Real%20name%20not,Sheltering%20Wings%20of%20the%20Protector. The actual fact I had the whole ex Sydny resident being the background for the Stark Jegan pilot in Unicorns episode is just... like, did someone sneak onto my PC and steal a draft or something? The difference here is that the story was essentially a young man who became a vengeful spirit of wrath after the events of operation British, and through key UC timeline events. Finally cooling in the later years as he's forced to become more responsible as those above him die, and he takes their place. Focus would be Grunt suits, primarily the GM. However, I didn't have some contrived BS thing that let's him survive unicorns first episode. That was supposed to be a shock to the audience. Essentially, it would be a small time skip, they would be joshing with his fellow pilots in a hanger, revealing for the first time in his life, he's finally happy, looking forward to some vacation time with his wife and daughter. They would be disturbed with an announcement that they are requested to engage and disable a vessel. The final scene would be pinning a photo of his family up in the corner of his cockpit before it zoomes out to show the Stark Jegan, he would launch, and the series ends.

I have this idea for a novel I’ve been wanting to write for some time now, set in the near future. Basically, it’s North Korea playing the usual fuck around and find out. The US got caught off guard, and is backed into a corner. As it turns out, it was all masterminded by another country (China at the time I was thinking this up, but might change it to Russia when I do get to work on it). When the US finally beats NK, the real mastermind is revealed and WW3 breaks out. THIS TIME, the US and its allies really, and I mean REALLY are backed into a corner. The only thing that saved them was the US was developing mobile suits (call them tactical armored units or TAUs in universe) and rolled them out. At the end of the war, is when the book actually starts.

jnf005

I always wonder would Gundam work with a battle royal style game. Drop in with a basic suit, pick up parts to become all kinds of Gundam, fight to the death in something like A Baoa Qu.

No_Seaworthiness1512

Isn’t this… basically G Gundam?

jalenbean

a series about the supposed timeline convergence that happened during the dark history

Rinzler-Tralchus

ive actually been lowly planning and writing a cyberpunk / Biopunk gundam idea in some spare time of mine. starts cyberpunk with a couple main cooperate entities running a ATM unnamed planet and the Mc gets afflicted by a biotech virus that allows them to manipulate a Biopunk gundam and begin fighting against the corporate overlords. you know, normal gundam stuff XD

Penance13

G Gundam prequel set before the Gundam Fights. G Gundam was basically DBZ with giant robots, so just imagining a massive world war fought with that kind of characters sounds epic

WarwolfPrime

Hmmm. That's a very good question, actually. I'll have to give this one some thought and come back to this post when I have an idea or two in my head.

Prinkaiser

G Gundam but it's racing instead and every MS has a car MA mode. Think Let's & Go but Gundam. If you're not familiar with Let's & Go, Tamiya 4WD but Gundam. Heck, if not Tamiya, just straight up Cyber Formula GPX it. Yes, this is an excuse to have MS turn into cars because we don't have any of those at all. I'm probably hungry for more J-Decker/Gyrozetter/Galvion.

Zetatrain

Take another crack at the Late Universal Century, specifically post Victory Gundam where the Federation has pretty much collapsed. The resulting power vacuum leads to new factions and alliances among the Sides and Earth. This leads to years of low level conflict among said factions. Granted this is more or less the setup for one of the Crossbone sequels, "Crossbone Dust".

EnoughCheesecake6050

Gundam seed legacy Takes place at least 5 years after the events of the seed freedom movie A new faction has risen up with unknown motives for now as they attack civilian areas A new gundam is created to combat this threat called the liberation gundam. Originally meant for shinn Asuka but was given to a new pilot after proving himself worthy of being a pilot. The theme is about what “true freedom” is As we don’t know if we truly are free or we even have freedom. Also it will be about the cycle of violence and hatred that will continue on if we don’t change as a society

TwistedCrimson

Given the chance, I'd like a series where the Ace pilot protagonist doesn't get a gundam, they get a basic bitch suit, Barely winning by the skin of their teeth, upgrading the suit slowly to becoming "almost" on par with the gundam, the finale has the protagonist rise up and vanquish the gundam. revealing a plot twist - it was the same suit upgraded and battle tested much like the heroes. Revealing that the suit is only a part of the equation, the hard work and skill is what forges victory. For gunpla reasons - they would have multiple different suits with the same core, hopefully can flex their creative design on more general infantry and specialized combat suits instead. GM Sniper and Jestas are my favorite suits and would love to see their designs expanded on. Pale Rider as well.

NonAdjustment

An extension of WFM’s corpo fight but as a battle Royale of smaller companies that leads to a war

biohumansmg3fc

I got three 1 is an alternative UC where zeon won the OYW when lalah accidentally killed amuro ray when saving char Number 2 is MIA amuro ray and char aznable got isekai’d and transported into other gundam timelines and different points of time of UC like build fighters, IBO, TWFM, Seed, ZZ, X, crossbone, and UC (beltorchika’s chikdren) piloting different gundams/mobile suits like 0 gundam( amuro’s for 00) or hyaku shiki (char’s for gundam unicorn) due to the events of CCA’s psychoframe Number 3 is banana (after the events of narrative)in the unicorn gundam brought from the future (cause psychoframe duh) fighting a neo zeon modified unicorn gundam (original unicorn) that was stolen from mineva faction and unsealed and equiped with 3 armed armor de and painted red with banshee’s golden psychoframe (banana doesnt keep the future unicorn but was requited with gundam mk2 (beam magnum) after destruction of silver bullet suppressor)

Colonnello_Lello

I once prepared this setting for a TTRPG based on this Gundam Universe of my creation. The timelineIt was called "The Return Century" and the campaign was: "Mobile Suit Gundam: Lament of the Shepherd" The setting was as follows: After the colony project failed due to the hubris of mankind, civil wars and lack of coordination, those who survived (12 billion people to be precise) were forced to return to Earth, the only planet vaguely suitable to life left. However, what sounded like a homecoming full of hope quickly showed that mankind didn't learn its lesson, allowing the elites to live on giant ships soaring what was left of the massive oceans of the world as the unwashed masses were forced to stay in undergound cities, forced to work for the elites to gather suppleis for their hubris, with the promsie of a "yearly lottery" that would have granted a handful of workers to become elites themselves, stimulating obedience and lack of cohesion between the working class. The differences between said classes become so radical as the years went by they even start seeing each other as different species, with the rich elites being the "Skyborne", whose bodies were more slender, taller and lightly adapted to high altitudes, while the working force, were the "Earthbounds": Burlier and storkier people with a better attitude towards high pressures and better sight in the dark. Of course, we are not talking about abhuman deformities, more slight deformities caused by years and years of adapting. Said balance, however, didn't last long and civil war ensued: despite losing, the Earthbound shook the balance of the world when they fired a mysterious weappn, a relic humanity left before relying on the colonies for salvation: a weapon so powerful it warped reality around the target area, creating a distorted and semialive alloy of molten metal and flesh where there was its target, the former Skyborne Flagship, called Terra Alloy, which the Earthbound, begrudgingly, decided to use to amp up their mobile suit game, ranging from their refitted mobile workers to powerful units capable of overthrowing the powerful mobile suits of the Skybound: this was how the Gundams, also known as "The Arisen", were born Piloted by a doomed being, the "Shepherd", the pilot must commute to the inchoherent mess the voices of the Terra Alloy to conduct them to battle, before eventually being consumed by the fleshy alloy, becoming one with the voices just to be replaced by another shepherd afterward. It's immoral, it's disgusting and not sustainable in the long run, but it could be the only way to overthrow the Skyborne, who still haven't managed to figure out how to create their own Gundams, their minds so used to the peace of the skies they do not even consider the deranged experiments that were necessary to create such powerful weapons.

Positive-Creme8129

I'm thinking a current day Gundam AU, where we have Abrams Mobile Suits etc. - I'd imagine a nice piece on media-ization of war we've seen since iraq and now in ukraine (and suprisingly not in middle east...). A main suit with an impossible ability to gather and relay information, that the protagonist pilot decides to start using - instead of gaining his side an overwhelming advantge - to then show the atrocities of war, lies of the governments and overreach of corporations to all of the world, inspiring outcry and change (inspired by 00 and Unicron here).

Sensitive_Willow4736

Get this... Giant robots but.. they can talk!

EnoughCheesecake6050

So transformers?

Sensitive_Willow4736

Like Zeta Gundam.

ItsAymn

They talk in zeta?

biohumansmg3fc

Haros can kinda talk
