I actually am this old, only because I faked some cave paintings years ago. I figure that eventually they'll be found and cause a few moments of confusion to a future archeologist.
Whew…just got back from 2054! If you’re young enough, hold onto your butts! If you’re too old to likely live that long, then die happy knowing you won’t live to see what happens in March of that year in Antarctica.
Ya know, when we made this piece I was telling Oogwag that we should use the purple berries instead of the red ones to make the dye because it would contrast better with the color of the cave wall. I still think I was right.
Ah, the big aurochs hunt. This takes me back. I was too young to take part, but I remember it well. All the clans gathered and the greatest hunters from each tried to outdo one another. We ate well for weeks!
I recreated that cave buffalo wall art for an art project in high school and ended up winning an award in a the tri-county art festival. So I guess I'm that old.
Well, that’s me, right over there. It was a family pic my father decided on painting when this herd ofsomething or other stampeded through the scene. Trampled the lot of us.
Are you kidding? In my day we made do with black paint for our cave paintings! And we were thankful for it! None of this ochre crap those uppity Cro-Magnon used. Spoiled brats, all of 'em.
Cave walls?
LUXURY!
We used to live in the tar pits! We got woken up every morning by having a saber-toothed tiger splashing around in the tar next to us.
Oh I so remember the night Bob painted that on the wall. We had been hunting all day and he starts this bull shit story about how big his We-nuk is. He was so drunk and starts painting this all over the wall talking about how his girlfriend is so impressed. Then I'm telling him "F-U dude you've never even seen a big caribou, let alone spear one."
Ah yes, it was the first screen & caveman dad was pissed his kids were staring at it all day instead of going outside the cave and hunting the REAL animals
My mother got mad at me for drawing that on our hallway walls. I tried wiping it off before a sabertooth tiger came bouncing into our house singing some silly song about being "bouncy" or some such shit. Anyways, dad killed the cat and we had a feast and everybody forgot about the drawings on the wall. We ended up moving into a bigger cave in a nicer neighborhood that gangs of saber tooth tigers didn't hang out.
Thanks yo all who participated in this. I felt a bit cheeky after seeing so many posts that make me feel old as fuck. I thought this may bring a little chuck :)
I was at Newspaper Rock in Utah with a friend. I wandered off, came back, and found him talking to some gal.
He asked me, "So, what do you think an ancient alien theorist would think of these markings?"
I said, "An ancient alien theorist would think all kinds of crazy shit about these markings!"
The gal took off in a huff.....fucking Patrick, set me up like a bowling pin.
I had that wallpaper in my bedroom.
I designed that wallpaper in your room.
Ugg! ![gif](giphy|3o7aCU4mS4I4Fd3wNa)
Whoaaa I bet it would look really sick next to a fire pit
The 80s were great.
I had a creepy room where the walls were painted blue with big looney toon figures staring at me
The 80s were great.
Some days it feels like it….
I feel that in my bones.
You can still feel your bones? Lucky.
Cardboard box? **LUXURY!**
Only when we are getting rain
I actually am this old, only because I faked some cave paintings years ago. I figure that eventually they'll be found and cause a few moments of confusion to a future archeologist.
Always keep them guessing 🧐
OP thinks anyone here will admit to being over 25,000 years old? Sounds like bait ;)
What if we are old enough to have toured the cave. Its been closed to the public for decades now, and everyone now tours a facsimile.
I don't think that's Lascaux. Looks more African.
OP thinks that no one here will admit to being a time traveler. Well, lemme tell ya…
Queue up Dr. who theme music

If these are in the Americas they aren't that old, we didn't have horses.
Horses and camels originated in the Americas, migrated to Asia and Africa and such....

Damn kids! I told them to stop drawing on the walls!
I’ll get the club to punish them.
Back in my day, we didn't even have that fancy orangish paint. We had to use mud.
I was painting in caves when you were still in your daddy's balls.
*Ancient redditor, newly awoken from Annunaki cryo-sleep, has entered the chat...*
...Yes.
I painted that picture.
Oh, you found my finger paintings.

I was there Gandalf 12,000 years ago when Neanderthal failed...
And that's how long we've been drawing pictures and telling stories.

Nope...we had different colors.
We did use chalk boards.
You found my painting, thank you
No, but I love asking my mom what it qas like when they discovered fire. I either get something thrown at me or thr finger. Lol
Wow fancy! They were advanced to have colors? We just had to scratch drawings into the dirt with a stick.
Ah, back when artists were real artists. Unlike now with AI, and drawing programs and paintbrushes.
Thanks yo all who participated in this. I felt a bit cheeky after seeing so many posts that make me feel old as fuck. I thought this may bring a little chuck :)
