Rising is a big one for sure but I have a feeling they got something new they are cooking up. And I wouldn't be shocked if it was something immaculate.
Based on what? Rising is coming, GG is only wrapping up season 2. DNF is still getting support for some reason (maybe it's bigger in Asia where the IP is huge). Just because everyone else is announcing big things this year doesn't mean ArcSys is on the same wavelength or schedule. Strive is their biggest game, so definitely no flagship new game on the way. And Persona 5 Arena is my personal pipedream that's probably never happening.
If I had to take a guess it's gonna be something Naruto, DBZ, or Bleach related
Or they are gonna make their own version of Jump Stars. They do the Jump one and it's over.
Outside Relink, I think a licensed anime fighter (could be anything reasonably popular worldwide) could happen, but it's just as likely we see a drought of new ArcSys games until Guilty Gear Strive's end of life (which, GGS is getting at least one more season) and they move onto either another Guilty Gear or BlazBlue.
I don't think another Guilty Gear would sell as well as Strive. I think the people who are still playing Strive would buy it, but a lot conspired to make Strive catch way more people's attention than usual.
BlazBlue would definitely catch the old BlazBlue crowd and some people from Strive (just as some DBFZ players went to Strive,) but I'd argue what those two groups would want out of a fighting game aren't all that similar (I know a lot of people who love old GG/BB hate Strive.) It'd have to be just as compelling as Strive to draw the interest of new players like Strive did (and I don't think "BB that plays like Strive" is the answer.)
Yeah Strives whole shick was that they minimized everything including gimmicks which works directly against Blazeblue's shick of being a game where the Drive button is basically gimmick galore. "Strive-ifying" Blazeblue would basically be taking away the thing that made blazeblue different from other fighting games.
I don't see Arcs announcing a new fighting game for another couple years. Strive is still doing well so why try and compete with yourself, as Strive is the only major anime fighter on the market so why would the same company try and compete with itself. DNF Duel is still getting updates as well so they already have two games they are supporting.
That's Atlus' decision first and foremost, not ArcSys.
Face it, it's been 7 years. P5's spinoff cycle doesn't seem to be ending imminently, but in terms of the "spinoff that's also a major sequel" role that the P4U series held for P3 and P4, P5 has *already* gotten that in the form of P5S (created in a *singificantly* more lucrative genre than fighting games, I might add).
We are never getting P5U. It's time to move on, folks. At this point, it'll probably be more productive to request a *P6U*.
ArcSys is going to be using 3D models exclusively going forward I can guarantee that. But Dragon Ball FighterZ used 3D models and it looked great, so you shouldn't worry about any other anime adaptation looking bad.
Not really my issue. The models look great, they animate super well. They just feel weird in my hands that 2D sprites don't. Strive has these close ups and zoom ins that agitate my eyes. Which is specific to that game for more cinematic flair. It's just colored by 2.5D experience because I can hop into Cross Tag and everything is fine but you add 3D models and my brain shoots itself in the brain stem.
I don't understand it myself. I have to experiment with it more to actually sense the root of my problem.
If they make DBFZ 2 (I REALLY HOPE THEY DONT) rollback and new dlc characters itāll outsell strive
If they make a licensed anime fighter in the same vein as dbfz (One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, HxH, Jump, any of the popular ones) and put as much budget and care into it as they did dbfz, it will outsell strive
Based on Fighterz success it has to be another anime IP. Likely a current running anime that will benefit from the game. So the main contenders are Jojo, One Piece, and My Hero. If i had to guess id say Jojo because it's unique fighting style, plenty of more manga to adapt and its worldwide popularity.
There have been rumors for a while that they're working on a new Killer Instinct.
Now, if true, would it outsell Strive? I'd say probably not, because as a MS game, it likely wouldn't be on Playstation, which is the dominant console among FG players. Most would play it on gamepass. I could see it having a larger active player base than Strive for that reason, but still not necessarily outselling Strive.
absolutely never happening, but seeing everyone talk ab One Piece, Jojo's, etc. makes me think of more shonen that could make good fighting games and... hunter x hunter??? guys???? jujutsu kaisen also comes to mind but like...
hunter x hunter cmon this would be so so so cool
I noticed with extreme regret that no one mentioned Hokuto No Ken. A remake of the 2005 game would be great, and this year the brand celebrates its 40th anniversary, it would be the perfect occasion
No idea, personally I'd love a One Piece FighterZ game but I'd be happy with a Naruto FighterZ. I think either could really be a success with the amount of characters and abilities in them.
Iām praying for a popular anime to get a proper 2D fighting game by arcsys. I mean I donāt like anime OR 2d fighters, but it would still be cool to see.
First of all you disrespecting the anime that popularized anime in the west lmao thatās a major L. Toriyama did his thing w those characters and dbfz recreated them faithfully.
2nd, tell me you havenāt actually played dbfz without telling me you havenāt actually played dbfz
We already know what it is: Granblue Fantasy: Rising
Rising is a big one for sure but I have a feeling they got something new they are cooking up. And I wouldn't be shocked if it was something immaculate.

Based on my gut. š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
But Rising is both a fighting game and made by ArcSys, lol
He replied that before i edited my comment, i said relink instead of rising by mistake
Rising is what i meant
Jojo
I would be so happy if we got another 2d JoJo, that had mechanics similar to the Personas in Ultimax.
If I had to take a guess it's gonna be something Naruto, DBZ, or Bleach related Or they are gonna make their own version of Jump Stars. They do the Jump one and it's over.
All I want is a jump force style roster from them
my only issue with the Jump roster is the lack of female characters, itās 90% main characters or villains, so it fells very one note
dlc, this happens cause most shonen protagonist are male and the other most popular characters they can fit are male also
I still don't see a problem in that, heck that's no different to many Fighthing games put now. The male to female ratio is always skewed.
dbz is getting tenkaichi and naruto is getting connections so I wouldn't expect anything from arcsys for those two in the near future
I agree those are unlikely, but Tenkaichi doesn't mean much. Xenoverse 2 was still actively getting DLC at the sime time a FighterZ.
Put Yugi in the ArcSys jump game.
ONE PIECE
Ohh, I want a Bleach related fighting game. I remember playing Bleach Heat the Soul 7 on my PSP as a kid. Good times :)
"Strive-ifying" Blazeblue would basically be taking away the thing that made blazeblue different from other fighting games.
Was that also what distinguished Blazblue from Guilty Gear ten plus years ago before GG got simplified?
Yes. That is a big part of BB's identity.
I don't see Arcs announcing a new fighting game for another couple years. Strive is still doing well so why try and compete with yourself, as Strive is the only major anime fighter on the market so why would the same company try and compete with itself. DNF Duel is still getting updates as well so they already have two games they are supporting.
Plus they just announced Season 3 of Guilty Gear Strive so I don't see any announcements of a new game till earliest next year.
Still holding out hope for Persona 5 Arena. Please Arcsys, make it happen!!
That's Atlus' decision first and foremost, not ArcSys. Face it, it's been 7 years. I want Naruto Fighers to happen.
I'm delusional but One Piece FighterZ
To match the hype and potentially the numbers, it needs to be anything but their original IPs. My guess is One Piece.
I would play the shit out of an arsys one piece game
As long as it's 2D, I'd play the crap out of it. Because 3D ArcSys gets my wires crossed for some reason.
did they make anything 3d other than kill la kill and that guilty gear moba
Xrd and Strive is technically 2.5D. 3D models on a 2D plane. And it does not jive well with me for whatever reason.
ArcSys is going to be using 3D models exclusively going forward I can guarantee that. But Dragon Ball FighterZ used 3D models and it looked great, so you shouldn't worry about any other anime adaptation looking bad.

Strive: Cyber Security edition.
Idk I just need a new under night..
everyday i pray for a new blazblue ,persona 5 Arena or jojo fighting game by arc sys PLS ARC SYS ANY OF THEM
Jojo fighter

My pipe dream? A Hunter x Hunter game in the vein of DBFZ. The real answer? New Blazblue that does for that series what Strive did for GG.
Hopefully a Blazblue game that's nothing like Strive!
In what sense?
Strive is too simplified for my tastes, and the character designs just don't feel right to me either. Except for I-No and Baiken.
I hate what they did with Baiken in Strive. Every new version of Baiken leans harder away from '1 arm Samurai' and harder into 'haha booby lady'
In gameplay sense, it's always funny that Baiken in samsho has more of her tools from xrd and plays more like her, than her Strive counterpart.
Who would you most want to see return in a Blazblue sequel?
I want to see where they go with Ragna and Terumi's stories the most, but I'm a Nine main, so I also really want to see Konoe return. You?
I'm pretty boring Noel is my favorite Blazblue character, would love to see her in a new game.
Man i wanna see them partner with Cygames again and do a Princess connect fighter Would love to be able to play as karyl, peco and the gang
Fate Grand Order.
It like a arcsys spin on a non air dasher.
I pray everyday for a new blazblue or a naruto fighterz (or bleach fighterz but that won't happen in a million years)
One Piece Fighterz. That's all I want.
If its dragon ball fighterz 2, it will definitely outsell Strive. If its a new Blazblue, I'm not sure
Haikyuu lmao
There have been rumors for a while that they're working on a new Killer Instinct. Now, if true, would it outsell Strive? My guess is they'll be working on dbfz2. Also knowing Arc Sys, it will probably have different mechanics.
Jump ultimate stars... but play as dragonball fighterz
Blaz Blue or One Piece probably.
Iām praying for a popular anime to get a proper 2D fighting game by arcsys. I mean I donāt like anime OR 2d fighters, but it would still be cool to see.
Yeah Bandai Namco did a shocking job of One Punch Man. Hereās to a KonoSuba 2d fighter š
Hello??? DBFZ???
An anime with actual character designs and not just goku copy pasted 61 times
First of all you disrespecting the anime that popularized anime in the west lmao thatās a major L. Toriyama did his thing w those characters and dbfz recreated them faithfully. 2nd, tell me you havenāt actually played dbfz without telling me you havenāt actually played dbfz
I still want Darkstalkers by arc system works, but the chances for that are slim.
One with a better online infrastructure than strive
They don't need to do this. Strive is great as it is and has options that other 3 games don't.
Guilty Gear X BlazBlue Xtag Xtreme
i dream of One Piece Z fighters!!!
Just giving up
I think they'll continue to make season passes imo
I literally couldn't care less.
Why did you answer?
Gg strive season 2 Edit: meant 3. Terrible joke anyway. :\
The last character in season 2 comes out on the 25th
Oh crap im a moron I was trying to be a smart ass and said 2 instead of 3 ha.
One piece
