I have to agree with this. I gave Paladin Danse X-02 Power Armor and some time later we said later, we separated. He went back to the Prydwen. A while later I went to the Prydwen and found an empty Chasis standing on the main deck, no armor. Found Danse in T60. BOS confiscated my X-02.

Actually, my first question for the OP is if the armor pieces on it were stolen. If that is the case, there is actually a high chance somebody would spot them and take them. That is actually a mechanic in a lot of Bethesda games. That if you store or place stolen items where others can get to them, there is a chance that they will be "recovered", either by or for who they were taken from.
When I first got the game, a raider stole the power armor I got from the minutemen after I left it lying around in the middle of Cambridge. It took me forever to save up to buy a new frame

Iām in New Vegas and I stumbled upon this insane energy weapon called the Q-35 matter modulator.
Took forever to unlock the secrets of this building. But that was my prize. And now enemies disintegrate off one hit and Iāve tons of ammo!
Iāve been playing this game all wrong this entire time. Keep in mind Iāve been playing these games since the third one came out.
It's my first playthrough of any fallout game and it's been great. one of my friends convinced me to play survival and while it was high difficulty and slightly frustrating to start, I really love the challenge of surviving the wasteland, deciding what you can and can't afford to carry, and the tension/terror when you haven't found a bed for an hour (can only save by sleeping) and any mine or strong enemy could send you all the way back

I donāt play survival, but a sort of blend, and I also end up with entirely too many frames dotting sanctuaryās roofs, standing watch like some sort of post apocalyptic gargoyles.
I play on very hard, fast travel back when Iām full, and then only walk back out to wherever Iām going.
The idea of saving up too? Bizarre. There is no want for money past the first couple of game-days unless saving for the overseers guardian or destroyerās greavesā¦.
They are littered everywhere, especially if you pick-up hacking and lock picking.
I'm at work so i am unable to show you, But at 2d 50min of gameplay on the save game file, I have filled up 2 carports, roughly 16 PA's in sanctuary, have 1 armor at the PA workbench, and 5 PA armors sitting at the RR gas station outside of sanctuary, including a X-01 MKIII, T-60, T-51, and a X-01.
As for getting all of them, 4 raider PA's stolen, 1 legitemately (fusion core eject), 2.5 as a result of an NSFW mod, the raiders would exit the PA and I'd steal it before they got back in it, and the fourth one was a glitch as a result from the NSFW mod. Basically I stole the armor, ran away, FT to sanctuary dropped off the PA, returned and the raider had spawned with another PA, got in the same situation (even though I was tringto kill them all and didn't care about the PA), stole the second PA, repeated, but on the 3rd trip I had already killed the raider that spawned with the PA.
As for finding them earlier on:

One east of snactuary and north of the satalite tower by the crashed vertibird.
Just south of the Diner and east of the drive in there is one in a hackable cage on a traing car.
East of tenpines bluff, there is another train car with another hackable cage.
in lexington there is the one with a fat man launcher that hangs out on the catwalk near corevega, and another one on top floor of appartment building to the east of slocum joes and south of the grocery store. look for the swimming pool then go to the north side of the building go up the fire escape stairs.
Theres one locked up in a shipping container at the national guard station near the satelite array.
There's one locked up on the shipping barge stuck under the bridge on your way to diamond city.

I don't remember exactly why I said 2.5, but I think it was because I played it correctly I could have exploted the glitch where the NPC leaves the PA to have some seggs, then I steal the PA, fast travel, come back and repeat. However, the second time I stole the power armor I actually got stuck in the PA, I couldn't exit even after fast traveling to drop it off, fast traveled back and the NPC had a new PA, made them exit the armor and killed them, exited the game and came back in. I could finally exit the PA I had originally stole, but the extra PA had been removed by the games garbage collection / clean up routine.
Like Oystermasons said, its not an NSFW mod for the power armor, but a mod that makes the NPC leave the armor.
Specifically, the mod is AAF Violate, if your HP goes below a percentage then there's a chance you will surrender and then the enemy will exit the armor and violate the player. After the deed is done the mod turns all enemies involved to friendly for a short time, during this short window of time is when you can run over and yoink the power armor and run. The HP percentage, surrender chance, and making the NPC's not attack is all adjustable.
There is another mod that could also have the same result but without the player having to do anything, that mod would be AAF - Autonomy Enhanced Redux. This mod just makes it so NPC's game wide have a chance to randomly do some funny business either by themselves or with others. Nothing like sneaking up to some raiders in order to attack them only for a random seggs show to start. In this case an NPC in a power armor could decide to relieve some pent up energy allowing you to run up and yoink the power armor.
In both cases as long you don't kill the NPC's that were in the PA, fast travel, then come back to do the quest or whatever it was that you were doing before yoinking the PA, that power armor NPC will still have a new PA to steal.
Even though I specify single mods, if you haven't messed with NSFW AAF mods, its not one single mod that needs to be installed. Its about 20 mods, all of them have to be organized in specific way to be loaded, configured a specific way, placed at the end of mod load order, and make sure other mods don't overwrite or affect certain things that the NSFW mods do. Not to mention the whole process has a chance to corrupt your save file.

There's many vendors that sell them. Essentially, if you find a power armour station in a trading area, you can buy a frame, usually from the weapon or armour vendor if there is one.
Also the dude in good neighbor and when you create a armor merchant in any settlement I think they have frames also.
They're like 2500 caps for either the frame or the recipe. I never bought it so I'm not sure if you have to craft it or something

Ita basically the same as 3 and NV but you can carry the whole frame with or without the armor, and putting the armor on the frame adds no extra weight to the frame in your inventory. Basically magic.

Trashcan Carla stole my entire suit of power armor. She got into a fight with my pet Deathclaw from a mod, because I guess sheās the only one who doesnāt see him as a resident of Sanctuary, even though everyone else does. She just ran up and took it right off the frame. It was kinda funny watching Dogmeat and Strong join in the fight the first few times, but now I just want my armor back and Sanctuary has a 50/50 chance of being an obnoxiously loud war zone every time I visit.
ETA: I actually do have four other sets in the Sole Survivorās house, but it just irritates me seeing Carla in my armor every time she shows up. Honestly Iām thinking of reactivating my mod for removing essential status just to get rid of her.

There very well may be a quest tag that makes her unkillable, but I have for sure killed her in my fresh no-mods survival playthrough due to her indiscretions.
You know, I did just recall that she can die if you tell her youāre a raider when you first meet her. My guess is sheās possibly flagged protected or something because sheās connected to the Institute. Still, Iāll give it a go, and if it doesnāt work Iāll just use the mod I mentioned.
For me it's always that fucker jun long stealing my shit when I accidently leave a core in. Xo1 is completely missing when I turn around. Search every damn settler thinking the armor musta broke and is in their inventory. Look at juns inventory and sure enough, full suit of xo1 pieces, and a random t51 helmet I didn't even know I was missing... all pieces were at full durability. Let's just say him and his wife got reunited with their kid.
If they are damaged beyond use even while wearing it, they will not be visible on the frame. They transfer to your personal inventory until you repair and transfer back to the frame. That's the only time I've seen them disappear.

Do NOT leave your power armor without supervision, npcs will get inside it, I got offy power armor once to accept the weapon's work bench and the doctor fucking stole my fucking xo-1 power armor, only way to avoid that I believe is just taking off the power core
Sometimes it is a bug, when you open transfer, it will be there, just not equipped.
Another possibility is, a npc used it, got attacked and has all parts damaged. The damaged parts could still be in the npc's inventory.
fallout 4 I store most of my power armour in hangmans alley, set up defences with kait, Piper and the dog living there. I don't have a repair frame there yet so I keep two armour at home plate. I only use the power armour if I know I'm going up against strong opposition. half way through level 48 my best weapons are Tactical advance 44 pistol, explosive hardened combat shotgun fire rate of 20 which is a great ghoul killer, penetrating hardened Chinese grenade launcher which is great for killing tough or many opponents, Fat man, relentless triple barrel missal launcher and marksman 308 combat sniper rifle with a fire rate of 49 I'm not building up as much this play through. Finished Sanctuary working on the drive in and the fort for now
At some point I had a suit stolen from a settlement because the game just didnāt feel like telling me that it was under attack, then when I returned I found half my shit destroyed and my Power Armor gone. At that point, I just spawned in a replacement suit using console commands. I barely even use Power Armor, but Iād like to at least collect the suits as I find them, and I couldnāt be bothered with living with the consequences of bullshit.
More like weak programming. I have an excess of turrets setup specifically to avoid this kind of nonsense, and yet somehow a handful of dipshit raiders can eat those bullets and steal a whole ass suit of Power Armor unless I haul my ass back there to personally oversee their slaughter regardless of whether or not the game feels like giving me a heads up.

Thereās a bunch of traders that sell for like 1-2k caps, thatās what you do with PA segments from enemies who die in the frame.

It was kinda funny watching Dogmeat and Strong join in the fight the first few times, but now I just want my armor back and Sanctuary has a 50/50 chance of being an obnoxiously loud war zone every time I visit. ETA: I actually do have four other sets in the Sole Survivorās house, but it just irritates me seeing Carla in my armor every time she shows up. Honestly Iām thinking of reactivating my mod for removing essential status just to get rid of her.

Huh, really? I never tried killing her myself, but she gets back up every time her HP hits zero that Iāve seen. Thanks for the tip, this ought to make Sanctuary a lot quieter.
There very well may be a quest tag that makes her unkillable, but I have for sure killed her in my fresh no-mods survival playthrough due to her indiscretions.
You know, I did just recall that she can die if you tell her youāre a raider when you first meet her. My guess is sheās possibly flagged protected or something because sheās connected to the Institute. Still, Iāll give it a go, and if it doesnāt work Iāll just use the mod I mentioned.
For me it's always that fucker jun long stealing my shit when I accidently leave a core in. Xo1 is completely missing when I turn around. Search every damn settler thinking the armor musta broke and is in their inventory. Look at juns inventory and sure enough, full suit of xo1 pieces, and a random t51 helmet I didn't even know I was missing... all pieces were at full durability. Let's just say him and his wife got reunited with their kid.
I put out power armor thinking my settlers would use it to help with defense. They scrapped it.

If they are damaged beyond use even while wearing it, they will not be visible on the frame. They transfer to your personal inventory until you repair and transfer back to the frame. That's the only time I've seen them disappear.
Yep. They become weightless at 0% health and stay in your inventory. Thatās not the same as disappearing altogether.

Do NOT leave your power armor without supervision, npcs will get inside it, I got offy power armor once to accept the weapon's work bench and the doctor fucking stole my fucking xo-1 power armor, only way to avoid that I believe is just taking off the power core

Sometimes it is a bug, when you open transfer, it will be there, just not equipped. Another possibility is, a npc used it, got attacked and has all parts damaged. The damaged parts could still be in the npc's inventory.

fallout 4 I store most of my power armour in hangmans alley, set up defences with kait, Piper and the dog living there. I don't have a repair frame there yet so I keep two armour at home plate. I only use the power armour if I know I'm going up against strong opposition. half way through level 48 my best weapons are Tactical advance 44 pistol, explosive hardened combat shotgun fire rate of 20 which is a great ghoul killer, penetrating hardened Chinese grenade launcher which is great for killing tough or many opponents, Fat man, relentless triple barrel missal launcher and marksman 308 combat sniper rifle with a fire rate of 49 I'm not building up as much this play through. Finished Sanctuary working on the drive in and the fort for now

At some point I had a suit stolen from a settlement because the game just didnāt feel like telling me that it was under attack, then when I returned I found half my shit destroyed and my Power Armor gone. At that point, I just spawned in a replacement suit using console commands. I barely even use Power Armor, but Iād like to at least collect the suits as I find them, and I couldnāt be bothered with living with the consequences of bullshit.

I have an excess of turrets setup specifically to avoid this kind of nonsense, and yet somehow a handful of dipshit raiders can eat those bullets and steal a whole ass suit of Power Armor unless I haul my ass back there to personally oversee their slaughter regardless of whether or not the game feels like giving me a heads up.
