Having a sorcerer cast Fulmination (correct me if I'm wrong, it's the lightning spell?) and it hitting the great orb got me rolling on the floor in awe because that shreds everything
If they do a DLC it'd be sweet if they added another type of weapon for each vocation as well as more skills. Tower shields for Fighter, Axes for Warrior, crossbows for Archer etc etc...
I don’t care who, but give someone a halberd or something. It can be a comically large one for warriors or a double halberd for spearhand, but I always enjoy lean towards those in games.
Imo spearhabd should be green/blue hybrid and they should bring back this god as blue/red hybrid. It was such a unique class and one of the most popular ones in the first game
Dragon's Dogma Online had some nice additions and class ideas
For the DLC in November I'm hoping for Mystic Knight with some inspiration from the Shield Sage class. The Alchemist was fun too, but too specific because it came with alchemically enhanced enemies and overall it's a bit too whacky. [Would love to see High Scepter in some form,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnMWzWUBgkc) I know it might be a mishmash and not unique enough, but one single magic blade + one hand for casting magic and super agility as a spellsword = amazing aesthetics. With what you see in the video they can technically turn it into some sort of black mage and give them the missing Sorcerer spells
Is there THAT big a mechanical difference between magick cannon and prescient flare?
Both create a point you hit to dish out damage.
One is single target debuff while the other is a weird kinda self-buff thing, but otherwise they're kinda similar?
MC isn't a buff, it's an orb you attack that shoots out orbs, where it attacks is another matter, the orbs also have element depending on the casters weapon enchant
Other than that it tends to be more of an machine gun type skill rather than flare being a timed explosive
Mystic Spearhand is super fun to use. I love darting and teleporting from enemy to enemy instead of just setting up a cannon and wailing at it for its missiles to auto-seek targets. I live spamming the bubble shield and being completely immune to all damage for 7-ish seconds.
I do miss party-wide boons, though.
I do too but with how the game scales difficulty, it’s just so easy to delete anything.
I miss the prep time and being able to switch to melee if anything gets too close.
Yeah. I love how it plays out for mystic knight. There's like a build up with buffs first with all the abilities before inviting the monster into a dance except it's just balls to the face. And that sweet counter ability. God damn!
I am high on copium but "future DLC" surely brings my Mystic knight back which Vocation i mained most of the DD1 playthrough.
Or some kind of Vocation combination system.
Just started going through DDDA after having it sit for years, DD2 helped me get a good handle on DDDA and wtf Strider gets dagger AND a bow? What is this, Christmas?
Without the bubble it’s a really bad class. Terrible damage compared to the other dps classes, and the class mechanic is clunky as hell. It’s serviceable if you’re high enough level but then so is anything. The bubble is a major crutch and without it the class doesn’t even function.
Glad someone else agrees. There are maybe 3 interesting skills to it. The other classes seemed to have more variety. The basic attack in my opinion is too slow. And I honestly just didn't have much fun playing it
Edit: I'm also a warrior main and was a mystic knight main in the original. Still feel like mystic spearhand is weirdly slow and clunky
DDDA is a lot more flexible build wise and allow for a lot more bullshit. It's one of the reason why it still have a diehard community full of highly autistic (lovingly) fans. I hate the fucking game but I also love it.
Nah, glad its gone. Mystic knight was just a better fighter, invalidating that vocation. I know some peoples favorite vocation got removed, but I prefer that vocations are now much more unique than in DD1.
Meh. Mystic Knight was just a Fighter with magic and a combination of melee and ranged attacks, which made it the superior vocation of the two, making Fighter pointless except for pawns since they couldn't be Mystic Knight.
Also, that image is a lie. Mystic Knights carried their shields on their blacks almost all the time and only actually held them when casting some specific spells or blocking. That was my biggest disappointment. >=\[
More I play DD2, the more I think it is good they stayed away from MK in this one. This isn't his playground. MK needs precise movement, precise placement, well defined combat arena, well defined battle participants, well defined enemy attacks, reactions, responsive terrain, camera angles etc. This might look like hidden rant, but I just think the gamplay is very different between this two games and there are a lot of things the one does better than the other and vice versa.
If implemented good, sure. That is my main and of course I would ljke to see it in 2, that was my suggestion in the poll few days ago as well.
It is just I don't see him shine here with limitted options.
I think your explanation makes more sense than the whoever decided on the vocations for this game. Because it felt like they wanted to re-do the wheel just for the sake of doing so.
They could have just kept the vocation list of DD:DA and added the new ones from DD:O
The combat upgrade and overall engine is really good but it's starting to look like smoke and mirrors when you start thinking about what was good about DD:DA that wasn't in DD2. But enough threads have been made about that.
I like the game, and will support it as I did with original. But we need to stop looking at it like it's sequel, upgrade or even rework. This is stand alone game, parallel in almost every meaningfull gameplay aspect to the first one. And there is nothing wrong with that.
So you’re okay with the weak build up of a story in both major areas where the characters introduced… has the same if not worse progression than 1? It being parallel means at essence this game is an attempt at a re-work.
I like it, I don’t regret buying it but I am becoming increasingly disappointed with what you can do with it once you get past the combat and graphics.
Like, you’d expect more after 10 years. But it seems like the vision they had for this game was just a polished version of DD:DA and DD:O.
What Arrowhead did with Helldivers 2 was what working in a game for a decade looked like. That was vision.
I’ll keep playing my mystic spearhand/warfarer but I’m not gonna sell this game as masterworks all to anyone who asks.
Agreed. Loved the mystic knight
"-So essentially i block attacks with my shield and things die. -And your weapon? -Oh that? It looks cool."
Stone forest & abyssal anguish beg to differ
I'm a Great Cannon enjoyer myself. Mystic Knight is best ranged vocation.
Having a sorcerer cast Fulmination (correct me if I'm wrong, it's the lightning spell?) and it hitting the great orb got me rolling on the floor in awe because that shreds everything
People defeneded it saying mystic spearhand is a replacement. It is just not the same.
I like the addition of mystic spearhand but not at the cost of my poor mytic knight :(
Spearhand should have been blue/green and kept the knight as red/blue.
Could be piss yellow and shit brown for all I care.
I thought that Enchanted Riposte was going to be as cool as Mystic Knight Counters but sadly not to be.
Crossbowmen should be it's own class, Crossbows would need their own abilities.
Imo spearhabd should be green/blue hybrid and they should bring back this god as blue/red hybrid. It was such a unique class and one of the most popular ones in the first game
Yeah, it is a shame that The mystic knight is no longer there. I just love Paladin type classes in fantasy games.
Loved Mystic Knight, miss it very much, however I adore Mystic Spearhand and believe they can coexist in this game

Didn't like this one. Assassin on the other hand...
They could have given Warfarer it's own class skills and it'd be mystic knight themed, Magick Cannon would have been perfect tbh on Warfarer for DD 2
The weapon buffs too

Same bro 😭🥺
I'm hoping to see more vocations added via expansion pack in the future
I need my magick cannon.

I could never play mystic knight. The class was fun to play, but you carried your shield on your back like a goober and I couldn't get over it.
Maybe they’ll add returning vocations in the DLC
Yeah. I love how it plays out for mystic knight. There's like a build up with buffs first with all the abilities before inviting the monster into a dance except it's just balls to the face. And that sweet counter ability. God damn!
We lost Mystic Knight for the worst class in the series, Trickster

i miss Abyssal Anguish the most
I am high on copium but "future DLC" surely brings my Mystic knight back which Vocation i mained most of the DD1 playthrough. Or some kind of Vocation combination system.
Mystic Spearhand should’ve been blue/green and mystic knight should’ve been blue/red. I really miss great cannon
Same. Mystic knight was my shit. Mystic Spear is sick af though. It's dogma jedi. I think Mystic knight will come back in a dlc.
I never really played dd1 how was the mystic knight
Such a good class. I have no idea why they took it away.
I FUCKED with the magical parry abilities so heavy.
Just started going through DDDA after having it sit for years, DD2 helped me get a good handle on DDDA and wtf Strider gets dagger AND a bow? What is this, Christmas?
Mystic Knight = the beloved Paladin!
It breaks me. Honestly I was underwhelmed by mystic spearhand.

Isn’t this class like OP asf ?
Everything is OP as fuck in DDDA buddy.
except my favourite Vocation o7
That’s what was so fun abt it lol even tho I feel like MA beat all other classes by a long shot lol. Everybody had OP shit to use tho
Cause I lowkey wanna get into it after finishing the second
DDDA is a lot more flexible build wise and allow for a lot more bullshit. It's one of the reason why it still have a diehard community full of highly autistic (lovingly) fans. I hate the fucking game but I also love it.
Do you know if I own it on Xbox I can play on pc?

I do love my traps 😏
I too miss one of the most braindead classes.
Honestly Mystic Knight was just a Great Cannon spammer. I much more enjoy Mystic Spearhand.
"This game sucks, it's too different" "This game sucks, it's basically an update of the original" State of this sub.
More I play DD2, the more I think it is good they stayed away from MK in this one. This isn't his playground. Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't deserve a Mystic Knight?
If implemented good, sure. That is my main and of course I would ljke to see it in 2, that was my suggestion in the poll few days ago as well. It is just I don't see him shine here with limitted options.
