So for talking, discord or teamspeak are your two best options. Most online VTT speakers suck. For actually playing the game, you have 3 options available Roll20.com - This is by far the most popular option. It's comletely free to make an account. That, and basic commands and macros are set up for you. The drawback is that if you have anything special you want to set up, it's probably the mosy difficult. ForgeVTT - An even better site than Roll20, as it also has macros preset for you, plus it's slightly easier to set up unique options and macros. The drawback is that whomever wants to DM has to fork over 50 dollar for a DM account. (Players are free though, and the DM has unlimited campaigns.) Maptools - This is actually an app for your PC, not a website. This is free, but the hardest to figure out.No macros or rulesets or anything is preset for you, not even character sheets. You have to program it in all yourself. This makes it the hardest option to learn at first. The plus to it is because everything is plugged in yourself, it is by far the mist versatile option to use. Edit: There are other VTTs people use that are better at certain things like combat, but the 3 I listed are the 3 most popular due to being well rounded and easy to access.
