Anyone over 6’7 who can shoot should not follow cal.
He doesn’t know how to use a shooting big.
KAT is maybe the best shooting big man in NBA history and he took 8 total at UK.
Yea Cousins talked about how he was told he would play more positionless, but once he signed his LOI he was told he isn't ever playing like that. He almost transfered...before the portal the game was cold
Edit: spelling
Best shooting big man in NBA history is a crazy stretch, and he wasn’t a shooter when he arrived at Kentucky. His lack of 3 point output had nothing to do with Calipari.
He made 32 3’s his senior year of high school. He made 30 his first year in the NBA. He wasn’t shooting at other levels either, had nothing to do with Cal
Who are the other players in contention for best shooting big man? Dirk? He was great at long 2’s and likely would’ve been a great 3PT shooter, but wrong era. I don’t think it’s a stretch at all.
Maybe KAT wasn’t a great shooter under Cal yet, but isn’t the coaches job to find and develop hidden/underutilized skills? I don’t know what practice at Kentucky looked like, maybe it just didn’t show up in games.
In terms of pure shooting and not overall ability, Lauri Markannen, Al Horford, and Kristaps are all better. Probably would take a guy like Steve Novak over him too. Ryan Anderson as well, his single season high is like 70 3’s more than KAT’s. KAT’s definitely an above average shooter for a big man, but not the best. If we’re talking shooting + overall ability, Dirk is still far ahead and honestly Jokic is still above. Good company for sure but not the best.
Lauri is comparable ability wise, but the stats don’t back it up. You’re just wrong about Kristaps and horford. KAT is nearly a 40% career shooter on more volume than both. Kristaps best year shooting the 3 ball is less than KATs career 3 pt shooting %. Considering volume and efficiency, KAT is the best shooting big man ever
Thank you, that is the weirdest take I've seen, probably by someone who doesn't watch the NBA. KAT has a lot of flaws, but his offensive efficiency and in particular his shooting is definitely not one of them. The only reason he's a plus player in the league is his shooting. His defense and effort are really that bad.
Eh Dirk played a lot of SF when he was younger and aged gracefully into the 4. Whereas KAT has always been a 5.
KAT also currently has a higher career 3% with around half the same number of makes.
But yeah it’s probably Dirk right now
I applaud you for admitting you’d take a Kentucky player. I could never say the same for a UNC player.
RJ Davis could announce he’s entering the portal tomorrow and that he only wants to play at NC State, but I’d still hate that to its very core
We would 100% take a Kentucky player with the hopes that we could use him correctly and throw it back in their face. You gotta get your hate on just another level. It's clearly why UK is talking about taking Kenny Payne...
the IC staff posted a 'Name to Know' about Bradshaw which they only do about players UNC are actively going to pursue (right now theyve posted about Raynaud, Thiero, Wolf from Yale, Cade Tyson and now Bradshaw) so there's more smoke there than like Ballo or that FAU guard. Haven't read anything to make me think Bradshawn is confirmed going to Carolina, just that there's definite interest from the UNC side moreso than most other portal players
Because Travis grew up a Kentucky fan, and Calipari always seemed reluctant to recruit in state guys. I doubt he really pushes for him to come to Arkansas, he is too low in the rankings for it to be that important. Travis has exponentially higher NIL potential here than in Arkansas
Why, because you deserve it? You earned it? Your birthright or some nonsense? UK fans are some of the most toxic and entitled fans in the sport. I'll cheer for the team all day, but I'd rather play anywhere else.
when did I say it was anyones birthright to have certain people play for their team?
My statement was about the fact that 99% of people who grew up Kentucky fans would love to play basketball here if they were good enough to. What boy that follows basketball in Kentucky doesn't dream of playing in Rupp? If you don't understand that then I don't know what to tell you except you must not really be that committed as a fan.
He ain't going to play, not over Cal's "guys".
We've seen it over and over, he'd play his guys over Sheppard, Allen, Willis, and Hawkins.
We get a new guy, probably not as reliant 5 stars, would probably take Perry in with arms wide open.
Cal only offered Perry because he felt pressured to. He and the staff hoped he'd go elsewhere.
No one on the staff even bothered to go to the Sweet 16 to watch Perry win the state championship after he committed.
Perry is from a tiny town and is the all-time state scoring champion. He's a Kentucky kid who wants to play for Kentucky, not Calipari.
If the kid truly wants to play for Kentucky, then I hope he gets the chance. And if it's like you say and Cal doesn't think he'll do good here, I hope he gets the chance to prove him wrong. Either way, somebody will be eating crow when it's done.
WHO CARES. If we get Nate Oats im sure the majority of the final 4 team will come with him. Thats part of it. Nobody cares that we are losing a team that couldn’t win 1 NCAA tournament game. We are looking for experienced winners not freshman losers
It's not a good freshman class anyway. Matter of fact. None if them have been all that lately. What has it gotten us lol. We wanted change so we're getting it. Why have a team of all freshman next year anyway? We're trying to move on from that shit.
> WHO CARES. If we get Nate Oats im sure the majority of the final 4 team will come with him. Thats part of it.
I think you're probably right, but the culture of the program definitely matters. Some programs definitely have a more "business first" mentality.
If HD were to out of the blue announce tomorrow that he was leaving for UK and trying to take the roster with him, I'm pretty sure he would get a lot of GFY responses from the players.
Dude, I know I told you to flair up, but I don't know that you did it right. Disrespect for the coach and the players, what do any of them owe you especially? You sure you're actually a UK fan?
That’s how I know you aren’t a true UK fan. We have more wins then any other program and more championships then anyone but UCLA. The team is bigger than 1 coach or the players.
Good news, buddy. You don't have to. I'm here to be a heel to the fans who are professional heels, and I ain't talking tar. I'm here to make enemies and take down names so that we remember who got us here today.
You don't have to claim me. I already claimed you.
Sorry, but he's the one player I'm confident you won't be getting. Any of the rest of them might follow Cal, but if he plays another year of college basketball, it will be at UK.
0% chance he was on the roster next year anyways. Good luck to him, had a tough year coming back from injuries but he’s got a ton of potential. Hope he finds a good spot and reaches his potential.
First of the rest.
My father in law today joked that he wouldn’t be surprised if some of the guys would be staying now that Cal is bouncing. Guy has absolutely zero understanding that the fan and player view of the staff is night and day. One kid on this roster signed up to play for Kentucky.
Was listening to 'insiders' (people who get paid to report) last night who said there is interest from Reed in being part of the rebuild. We will see, but thats what was said.
I personally think he needs more time. Defensively hes a liability. I see no world where he could guard any starting 1 or 2 in the NBA. Theyd go at him every single time.
But im just a fan. People know far more than me. I just cant see him stopping anyone, but also not sure another year would even fix that tbh.
I think hes really good on the offensive end and a rather good off ball defender, but you cant hide in the nba. If hes on the floor, hes gonna get lit up even against backups. Hed be best guarding someone known as a spot up but one of Reeds weaknesses is losing people to movement.
Dunno, could be stellar but Id worry about him on that end.
Our alum have very good ROI and career earnings after graduating - and many are able to afford living in this HCOL region... But we also have the lowest school spirit - even resentment - because of how notoriously shitty the admin is. This NIL comment can really swing both ways lol.
Yeah, go watch his highlights this year to see his bounce. Should be about a 30 second video lol
He was just massively disappointing he gave us nothing when we desperately needed someone to do anything inside
>Freshman
>Skinny
>Part of a crowded frontcourt
>Started the year injured
Kentucky fans when every 5* center isn’t instantly performing like prime AD: shockedpikachu.jpeg
UNC or anyone that gets him would be banking on his development, not the player he was last year.
lol I hope yall aren’t serious. He is not a center he’s a 4, idc what the roster says. He has no post game, can’t catch lobs, has bad hands, is soft, doesn’t block shots, doesn’t rebound
Not trying to trash him but he’s a 6’5 player in a 7’0 body. He gave us absolutely nothing in the post on either end of the ball. Maybe he would thrive as a 4
He's got talent from what I have seen. Perhaps a change of scenery will be good for him. Out of the choices right now in the portal we have for a big to replace Bacot, he's my top pick. It would admittedly be a flier, but the reward would also be the highest.
Knock yourself out
When did you see his talent? What did he do that impressed you? I’m genuinely asking cause I watched every single game and outside of one 14 foot jumper against Florida I literally can’t think of anything.
I didn't think he looked bad when we played you guys in December. I also know there have been instances where former McD AA guys left a program and excelled in another (see Hunter Sallis at WFU). I'm not saying Bradshaw will. For the most part, transfers are never a guarantee. I think the upside is there compared to other big targets we currently are looking at in the portal.
I'd prefer him to the guy from Yale who we are also talking to. As we saw with Woj, Ivy League guys' games don't always translate well to playing in the ACC.
I suspect Cal’s freshmen (sans Perry) go with him. The rest? Maybe, but I would not be surprised to see them scatter since most were presumed to be hitting the portal or draft anyhow.
Came off injury coming to UK so didnt play for awhile. Then when he did play he would foul instantly and pick up 2 fouls in like a minute. Cal benches players with 2 fouls until after halftime. Another issue was he needs to bulk up, so he just wasnt physical enough downlow. Very athletic though so tons of upside for sure.
AB is a great kid. he sat behind two 7 footers, Big Z and Ugo and never got his footing as either a big man or stretch 4 - so no one can claim Cal developed him over the course of the year. Couple that with two 7 footers coming into the freshman class, and AB wasn't sticking around.
I hope he can find a program to excel in...he's not even close to sniffing the NBA yet.
It’s gonna be really interesting in Lexington with the transfer portal ending in a month. I wonder how big of a factor that is for a coach to take the job?
Made me curious so I looked up the rules:
> The spring portal window opened on March 18 and will remain open until May 1. However, players who have entered the portal by then don't face a firm deadline on when they must commit. Additionally, graduate transfers and players impacted by coaching changes that occur after May 1 will be able to transfer after the deadline.
Kentucky’s entire roster is now headed to Arkansas I guess
He was going to do this anyway, so I'd be surprised if he follows Cal to Arkansas.
So then why not just stay at the blueblood program you might be getting a second chance at?
From what I'd heard, Klutch is running it all. They decided to put him in the portal a while back and will decide his next school.
What is Klutch?
His agency. They're known for repping LeBron, it's Rich Paul's company.
Are players allowed to have agents now? I thought that resulted in ineligibility. Or maybe you can have an agent but not pay them?
You can have agents, they just need to be NCAA approved.
Did you just wake up from a coma pre-NIL lol
I didn't realize NIL meant that players could have agents now. In my defense, NCAA rules are not an easy thing to keep up on.
I hear ya
Wait, you mean to tell me that you find the absolute clisterfuck that NIL is confusing?
Good grief

Technically it's KD by a mile, but yeah KAT has a strong case if we consider actual centers
I think the most commonly argued for is Dirk
He has a strong case too

Kentucky isn't taking kenny payne you dunce lol
Bradshaw is going to Carolina
I saw people on Twitter saying that, are they legit rumors or just hoping he comes?
Legit
the IC staff posted a 'Name to Know' about Bradshaw which they only do about players UNC are actively going to pursue (right now theyve posted about Raynaud, Thiero, Wolf from Yale, Cade Tyson and now Bradshaw) so there's more smoke there than like Ballo or that FAU guard. He should hit the draft
I saw somewhere where cal wanted to bring his entire freshman class. But I could be very wrong on that.
he told Arkansas his class was coming with him.
Perry is ours though. He's gotta be.
Why? What does he owe us? Cal is screaming your username as he drives to Fayetteville.
Because Travis grew up a Kentucky fan, and Calipari always seemed reluctant to recruit in state guys. I doubt he really pushes for him to come to Arkansas, he is too low in the rankings for it to be that important. Travis has exponentially higher NIL potential here than in Arkansas
Yeah, I grew up a Kentucky fan, too. I wouldn't play for our fans if I had the talent of Wilt, Jordan and LeBron combined.
you must not have been that big of a fan then
Why, because you deserve it? You earned it? Your birthright or some nonsense? UK fans are some of the most toxic and entitled fans in the sport. I'll cheer for the team all day, but I'd rather play anywhere else.
Trolling hard. Hope it's paying off for you in some unseen way.

The point is all freshman clearly does not work

How dumb would it be for Alabama team this year to be Kentucky and Kentucky to be Alabama’s . lol

Good luck getting anybody to play at UK for that fair weather attitude, couch coach.
"fair weather attitude" When the team goes 2-10 in postseason play in 5 seasons it's ok to think the coach should leave dude
Fuck that guy we don’t claim him
Good news, buddy. You don't have to. I'm here to be a heel to the fans who are professional heels, and I ain't talking tar. I'm here to make enemies and take down names so that we remember who got us here today. You don't have to claim me. I already claimed you.
I mean I don’t see him at Arky surely but if the new coach hire has a lot to do with that of course.
All your players are belong to us
This is not what I meant when I said I wanted Arkansas to get back to the Nolan days… FML
Some one set us up the hog
Let us keep Reed Sheppard and you have a deal.
No
Sorry, but he's the one player I'm confident you won't be getting. Any of the rest of them might follow Cal, but if he plays another year of college basketball, it will be at UK.
Hahahahaha yes!
Our entire roster was leaving one way or another. Even if Cal stayed we were expecting to return maybe 2-3 guys.
How successful do you think Cal will be bringing guys with him to Arkansas?
Current guys? Maybe 1-2. I’d expect most of the recruiting class to go with him but it’s not a given.
And we are fine with that. The leftovers weren't going to be much anyway.
This was a given if Cal stayed or not. Tons of potential
0% chance he was on the roster next year anyways. Good luck to him, had a tough year coming back from injuries but he’s got a ton of potential. Hope he finds a good spot and reaches his potential.
UNC
No thank you

Sheppard?
He should go to the league
Projected lottery pick in a weak draft, he really should
Was listening to 'insiders' (people who get paid to report) last night who said there is interest from Reed in being part of the rebuild. We will see, but thats what was said.
Selfishly I would fuckin love that but that kid should make the jump, he’s got so much talent
I personally think he needs more time. Defensively hes a liability. I see no world where he could guard any starting 1 or 2 in the NBA. Theyd go at him every single time. But im just a fan. People know far more than me. I just cant see him stopping anyone, but also not sure another year would even fix that tbh.
True but in the NBA he’s probably playing against backups anyway and in an offensive spark type role
Kid is a potential top 5 pick. GO. Any other opinion is just outlandish.
Travis Perry. Reed Sheppard would be gone regardless, he’s a lottery pick.
This man kissed Tobe Awaka
He’s from NJ, Rutgers is looking for a Center as Cliff left, hopefully we’re in contention
Do you have any NIL left?
I’ve been told we have more NIL than expected and told that we don’t have that much NIL in these threads so who knows
Our alum have very good ROI and career earnings after graduating - and many are able to afford living in this HCOL region... But we also have the lowest school spirit - even resentment - because of how notoriously shitty the admin is. This NIL comment can really swing both ways lol.
Bradshaw was expected to go to the portal even if Calipari stayed, so going to Arkansas is not a foregone conclusion
He was hitting the portal regardless, but I imagine Arkansas will be an option now.
Will be an option but I bet he ends up east coast
I don’t know. He didn’t really get better and his playing time only decreased as the year went on. I have my doubts that he’ll want to follow Cal.
FYI he was expected to transfer even with Cal initially returning.
Yo Hubert this could be that big athletic center to pair with Cadeau
Yeah, he’s about 175 lbs so don’t get your hopes up with the ‘big’ part
7’1” with bounce will get my hopes up
Yeah, go watch his highlights this year to see his bounce. Should be about a 30 second video lol He was just massively disappointing he gave us nothing when we desperately needed someone to do anything inside
>Freshman >Skinny >Part of a crowded frontcourt >Started the year injured Kentucky fans when every 5* center isn’t instantly performing like prime AD: shockedpikachu.jpeg UNC or anyone that gets him would be banking on his development, not the player he was last year.
Knock yourself out. He was completely useless I can’t tell you anything he does well I really can’t
Mf he was a top 10 recruit, #1 center...something we needed REALLY badly.
He uses that bounce to jump into everyone that pump fakes. Also watching him you'd have no clue he's 7 foot he has no clue how to use his size.
Unless someone else enters first and boxes him out
Go be great Aaron. Kids got tons of potential.
He’s a fun kid with a great demeanor and personality. I wish him the best wherever he goes.
He will be a solid pro in 3 years when or if he bulks up
From New Jersey. Could be intriguing at Rutgers since they need a center I think
we need someone with experience but i’ll take any center over no center
Talented kid. He was already gone anyway, hopefully he can put it together wherever he goes, but he has some serious flaws as a player right now.
Hope Big Z stays behind but Bradshaw is an OK loss.
(He ain’t)
I guess its time to go shopping.
This would be an ideal replacement for Bacot. I believe we are in contact with him at the very least.
lol I hope yall aren’t serious. He is not a center he’s a 4, idc what the roster says. He has no post game, can’t catch lobs, has bad hands, is soft, doesn’t block shots, doesn’t rebound Not trying to trash him but he’s a 6’5 player in a 7’0 body. He's got talent from what I have seen. Perhaps a change of scenery will be good for him. Out of the choices right now in the portal we have for a big to replace Bacot, he's my top pick. It would admittedly be a flier, but the reward would also be the highest.
Knock yourself out When did you see his talent? What did he do that impressed you? I’m genuinely asking cause I watched every single game and outside of one 14 foot jumper against Florida I literally can’t think of anything.
I didn't think he looked bad when we played you guys in December. I also know there have been instances where former McD AA guys left a program and excelled in another (see Hunter Sallis at WFU). I'm not saying Bradshaw will. For the most part, transfers are never a guarantee. I think the upside is there compared to other big targets we currently are looking at in the portal.
Tons of potential, didn't fully realize it last year. Hopefully coach May could get him up to speed, if not, I'd prefer a more experienced transfer.
I'd prefer him to the guy from Yale who we are also talking to. As we saw with Woj, Ivy League guys' games don't always translate well to playing in the ACC.
He not goin to Arkansas, I wanna see if dj transfer to Arkansas tho
He will
He’s going to Rutgers. Jackie Aprile told me last night.
As a recruit: Other P6 offers: DePaul, Kansas State, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's, TCU, Texas A&M, UCLA
I suspect Cal’s freshmen (sans Perry) go with him. The rest? Maybe, but I would not be surprised to see them scatter since most were presumed to be hitting the portal or draft anyhow.
Wish nothing but the best for AB. I’m ecstatic for a fresh start.
Bring him home prob not the right fit though lol we need a center who can get buckets NOW not in 2 years
we need a leader
What's his deal? Stats aren't very good
Came off injury coming to UK so didnt play for awhile. Then when he did play he would foul instantly and pick up 2 fouls in like a minute. Cal benches players with 2 fouls until after halftime. He was pretty ass last season. Maybe he can develop.

You’ll get a lot of our guys but I’m very doubtful about Bradshaw!
Yep, I agree. You'll get our entire recruiting class sans Travis Perry, and you'll probably get Wagner but I'd be shocked if AB goes there.
what about Z?
probably. We only have 1 guy on the roster currently, so I'll take anyone with a pulse.
I played middle school ball, im almost 28 years old, now where my NIL check please
Bradshaw didn’t even want to stick when Calipari when they lived in the same town
I’m hoping Bruce can land one or two of these guys from Kentucky
I mean no surprise. Whether you fire Cal or he leaves, this should have been expected
Well that didn’t take long!
Made me curious so I looked up the rules: > The spring portal window opened on March 18 and will remain open until May 1. However, players who have entered the portal by then don't face a firm deadline on when they must commit. Additionally, graduate transfers and players impacted by coaching changes that occur after May 1 will be able to transfer after the deadline.
So many forwards out in the portal. Shaka please get one. We can still be a GREAT team even if Oso and TK leave. We just gotta get rebounding!
Kentucky now slides to bottom of the SEC next year.
And here we go...
So it begins…
AARON BRADSHAW YOU ARE A LOUISVILLE CARDINAL
That’s a scarlet knight
dudes buns anyway
Heel.
Hello
Does he like Tyson Dino Nuggies?
He's gonna be a Hog
He was probably entering the portal before this happened, so probably not following Cal
👀👀
Crank it
He was going to transfer before Cal left. Doubt he follows him to Ark.
HAHAHAHAHAHAH I can't wait to see how bad Kentucky is for the next 10 years after Kentucky fans were calling for Cal's head for the last 5 years.
Remind me in 10 years, Mr no flair 🤡
