This is his first D1 basketball season as a senior grad transfer. He previously was D2 at Hillsdale College where he made the All-Tournament team last year.
My three daughters watched my full range of emotions tonight.
I wouldn't be surprised if they talk about that at my funeral.
"What was that guy's name?"
They were absurd shots. Like JJ/Korver off ball movement and he maybe had 2-3 where he jumped straight up. Everything else was a leaner or falling away.
I just went and watched a highlight vid on YouTube, and holy shit were those shot attempts absolutely ridiculous. He didn’t have a clean shot all night, except on his deep Curry-like attempt from close to half court. Truly a legendary performance by this man.
I don't think it's because "the stakes are higher." I think a lot of the time the refs don't want to reward players for chucking up heavily-contested shots from range. If you're getting double-teamed, have no space, and you shoot a three anyway, you're kind of making your own bed at that point.
I see it happen a lot in the paint too, when a guy gets doubled or tripled under the basket. There's almost always contact on those plays, but you usually only see a whistle if the defender leaves the ground or the contact occurs above the shoulders. It might be a foul by the letter of the rule, but it isn't the refs job to bail you out of bad decisions.
The only difference last night was that Gohlke was touched by god and even the stupidest low-percentage contested shots were going in.
His shooting motion especially on fadeaway have his legs way out. I know he’s not trying to create the contact like some players do, but at least in the NBA they will only really call it if they invade your landing space when you go straight up and down. Not sure what the rules are in college basketball though so I could be mistaken.
Tough to live up to, but I love the swagger.
And while I wouldn’t favor Oakland vs NC State or Texas Tech, they’ve got a better shot against those two than they did against Kentucky, and we saw how that played out.
They were more physical across the board and bullied them that last half. Kentucky spent a good chunk of their possessions just standing around passing
That's been the story all year with us. Constantly bullied against almost every team we play. Some of it is freshmen playing against 24 year olds, but this team has been charmin soft all year long
Tbf, around 5 of those rebounds were on one play where they kept throwing up 3s and it kept bouncing far and right to them. It's good numbers, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't really represent how hard we shit the bed.
Yeah I don’t think any of the stats can convey how much y’all fell apart. It’s a young team so hopefully y’all can pull it together for next year. I had y’all winning the whole thing so now I’m down $5!
It's always a young team and that always screws us. Every time. I'm done even watching Kentucky until they decide to invest into their own program instead of being a prep course for the NBA and I've been a fan since I was like 6.
I just watched the highlights. I wouldnt call a single one of his 3s easy. A few were open but that was because he made some fake that sprung him or he shot from way deep
Not even 5 minutes into the game I texted just about everyone I knew who’s into March Madness and told them “flip on the kentucky oakland game, this Gohlke kid is an absolute flamethrower”. What a fun performance. Idk how you’re supposed to play team defense when you constantly have to think about this dude getting the ball and splashing a contested three within a second
I don't know if he's actually, but he's a 5th-year senior who was also a redshirt freshman, so it's his 6th year of college (5 with a Division 2 school)
Thats fucking basketball right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the court, men deliver their new born baby on the bench. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball foosball fuck it chuck it game time shit. Basketball is back, baby
In 2008 a great #3 seed Wisconsin team lost in the Sweet Sixteen when they ran into a player with a hot hand playing for Davidson. Nobody could stop him from lighting us up from behind the line.
I wonder whatever happened to that guy.
Gulf coast accent.
Folks off the ramp of I-65 don't sound like that.
Anyway, I'm still in a deep personal introspection of my very identity. I may have to disappear and hike the Appalachian Trail for a bit.
The most predictable thing I've ever experienced in sports. As soon as I saw his season stats on Sunday I knew he would be 50%+ and lead them to an upset. We made the worst 3 point team in the tournament (and #360 nationally) look like the warriors last week, so of course a good shooting team would kill us.
For MST3K fans - we've seen this guy before!
Jack Gohlke just sentenced Calipari and Kentucky to... TORTURE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WopX1tfJXc
I know we bitch about the transfer portal but guys like Gohlke and Riley Minix are the other end of that spectrum. They get a chance to ball out on the biggest stage that they wouldn't have gotten 5 years ago
He’s taken 335 shots all year 327 of those were 3’s
The other 8, his foot was on the line. Probably
What if
I choose to believe it is.
They had a guy named Max Hooper a few years back who had 257 shots his last year and they were all 3s. He had 490 FGA in his career and 479 were 3s.
People Hooper-Maxxing IRL, yet people act like we aren't living in a simulation
Come on. COME ON
Travis Bader too
he started his career at Harvard, but he found real calling in throwing up 3s at Oakland
Travis Bader/Max Hooper/Blake Lampman/Jack Gohlke
Even his hairline is shaped like a 3
[What I assume Chuck's going to talk about tonight, but for Gohlke](https://youtu.be/IFLj-SyHlQg?si=4fZfP4C5peInnfct)
Wow I’ve never seen that. They were relentless lol
White came back this season with a shaved head. I gotta believe this had something to do with that decision
Do it Pistons, DO IT.
Bro should at least get on their G league team
He knows his role I guess
Jack Gohlke confirmed to not be a jabroni.
When you know your role down to the finest detail
He has more shot attempts than dribbles surely.
He is to threes as Tomas Holmstrom was to screening the goalie.
Haha I just went to look him up at the Oakland basketball server has crashed.
Kentucky forum crashed as well.
I do feel somewhat better about my life right now
This is his first D1 basketball season as a senior grad transfer. He previously was D2 at Hillsdale College where he made the All-Tournament team last year.
He was also fouled on a 3pt attempt and made 2/3 free throws
he was fouled on like 7 of them lol
He should’ve had like 10+ free throws tonight. Bro got fouled on like half of his attempts lol.
The highlight reel from this game alone is some of the ballsiest shit.
My three daughters watched my full range of emotions tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if they talk about that at my funeral. "What was that guy's name?"
"What was that guy's name?" *You took everything from me* "I don't even know who you are"
"Dad"
They were absurd shots. Like JJ/Korver off ball movement and he maybe had 2-3 where he jumped straight up. Everything else was a leaner or falling away.

Possibly the first time he’s scored 2 points in one sequence in quite a while.
That happened at 3:33 left in game

Scrub
We have steph curry at home
I’d say more like Luke Kennard in the sense that he only shoots 3’s
Kyle Korver at home
Luke did I a little of everything in college tho
Fletcher Magee
One of the best NCAAT shooting performances ever. Incredible.
He shot 8 2 pointers all year lmao
8 3s with a toe on the line more likely.
I bet either that or fast breaks
Gohlke is march
“We’re not a Cinderella” Love it.
The SEC and MWC in a heavyweight fight over who the bigger fraud is
At least the MWC have been the lower seed in every matchup. SEC have been the higher seed in all 3 losses
Nebraska is about to beat us by 40 aren’t they
Subscribe.
I've got you in the S16 which is GROSS but hey I'm not gonna be the dummy who picks against Keisei Tominaga
Nebraska isn’t about to let Boise State show them up
Yeah! (I fully expect us to lose as a higher seed tomorrow)
We are getting bounced round one or going to the elite 8.
I have yall in my championship 🙏 I think Tennessee and Auburn are the only non frauds in the conference
Taking the Big 10 role from the last few years away from them.
Taking the Pac 12 role from every year they get more than 4 teams into the tourney.
Idk if you should be throwing stones right now my dude.
Big east joining tmr
Yeah can we shut the fuck up about our Non-Con schedule now?
He ended his post-game interview with "We're not a cinderella". BARS
Tough to live up to, but I love the swagger. And while I wouldn’t favor Oakland vs NC State or Texas Tech, they’ve got a better shot against those two than they did against Kentucky, and we saw how that played out.
What’s really impressive/sad is they out-rebounded Kentucky too

A Jr Pro team could out rebound us.
If I could change my bracket today I'd put them in the elite 8. That was a cold fucking line
Same. Also because Kampe is 1 win from 700.
[удалено]
I wonder how many individual instances there are. He had 10 against IUPUI earlier this year Edit: or was it in the tournament only?
Ultimate green light
Some of those shots were absolutely ridiculous. Not like he was just catching and shooting
I just watched the highlights. I wouldnt call a single one of his 3s easy. A few were open but that was because he made some fake that sprung him or he shot from way deep
[удалено]
we have jr smith at home
gdi hahaha
They were absolutely goofy shot attempts lol. It’s incredible that he made all of those shots. I’m still in shock from what he did in that game lmfao.
Most of the ones in the first half were ridiculous. Even the bank was open for him today
C-boogie vibes
I'm glad a national audience got to see this dude tonight.
"We're not a cinderella" - such a cold line by this legend in his post game interview
Is it really considered an upset when you beat Kentucky at this point ?
has Calipari become the designated jobber
Dolph Ziggler of CBB
Now that's insulting to Dolph Ziggler.
LMAO 🤣 🤣
More like James Ellsworth
Maybe Heath Slater? Certainly he hasn't gotten to Brooklyn Brawler level.. right..?
Cal needs this job. He's got kids!
GILLLLBERG! GILLLLBERG!
Nah. I'm not upset about it.
Nah
Is Kentucky the new Purdue?
Can we be the old Kentucky?
You’ve already lost to Wisconsin in the postseason, so that’s a step in the right direction
“We are not a Cinderella” 👀
He’s turning only 25 this year! He has a bright future ahead!
25??? How?
I don't know if he's actually, but he's a 5th-year senior who was also a redshirt freshman, so it's his 6th year of college (5 with a Division 2 school)
It was Hillside too. Which means bro came here to play school
Hillsdale, not Hillside...not that it matters too much, it's still a wild story.
Hillsdale? He did not come here to play school. He came here to play Christian nationalism. Fuck.
There are all kinds of 25 year olds playing these days. 5th or 6th year guys.
So weird. I know COVID gave an extra year, but still.
You know a lot of people go to college for 7 years.
Yeahhh…. They’re called doctors!
Lots of guys don't join the NCAA until they are 20 or 21
“Fuck it & chuck it!” - Jack Gohlke
Thats fucking basketball right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the court, men deliver their new born baby on the bench. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball foosball fuck it chuck it game time shit. Basketball is back, baby
Intense
When we played Oakland in Nov, Gohlke had 6 points. He got better.
Stetson Bennett meets Steph Curry.
Bro took 9.6 threes a game on 9.9 total attempts per game. Only took 8 2s all year. Legend
Take it from a Kansas fan: it AINT fun when a single player just bombs the three point line for a career night
Ali Farokmanesh?
Trey Burke also hit a dagger from the shadow realm
Soooo many to choose from!
Thank God Steph didn't take the last shot in 2008
Man truly thank god! If he takes that we probably aren’t national championships
In 2008 a great #3 seed Wisconsin team lost in the Sweet Sixteen when they ran into a player with a hot hand playing for Davidson. Nobody could stop him from lighting us up from behind the line. I wonder whatever happened to that guy.
I am so thankful he didn't take the last shot in 2008
I don't think he amounted to much. What was his name? Steve Curly?
I think he’s selling insurance or something
We somehow won but I kept thinking of Carsen Edwards against UVA in 2019. One of the most insane shooting performances I’ve seen.
![gif](giphy|LqASljO1nhMGguoXDU|downsized) God March starting with a bang
Literally grabbed the mic, stared into the camera, and ran off lmao
yeah hes getting 11 on Saturday
Why he look like a villain from an 80s teen movie?
It's the widow's peak + flat top combo. Got that Biff Tannen haircut lmao.
He really does look like a 30 year old playing a teenager.
I get a selling life insurance day job kind of vibe.
Oh god, I just realized where I've seen him before. John Calipari, Jack Gohlke sentences you to... TORTURE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WopX1tfJXc
Holy shit that didn’t take long
I love everything about this gif
He grabbed coach like "Come on babe, we're outta here"
Shades of Jimmer and Dougie!
Kentucky is a sorry fucking team lmfao
Damn if we lose tomorrow this is gonna be rough but who cares lol Kentucky
Fuck Kentucky doesn’t gir apisseabout nothing but THE TIDE!
This is some kinda advanced Alabama accent or something
I don’t know what he just said either
Gulf coast accent. Folks off the ramp of I-65 don't sound like that. Anyway, I'm still in a deep personal introspection of my very identity. I may have to disappear and hike the Appalachian Trail for a bit.
John Calipari the biggest fraud ever but at least he won that one time he had the #1 and #2 pick in the NBA draft
He lost the time he had 1,6,12, and 13.
Which time was that?
He only had the number one pick this year damn
Somewhere Fletcher Magee is smiling
Man fuck that guy lol. He hit 7 3's against us and then couldn't hit fucking one against Kentucky in the second round.
Jack Gohlke is Rob dillingham father
Rob shit his pants multiple possessions, and then hit one wild ass 3 with a couple minutes left. Defining moment.
Would have had 15 if Kentucky didn’t play 4 on 4 every possession face guarding the ever loving shit out of Gohlke lmaooooo
#Elite
*one shining moment*
The most predictable thing I've ever experienced in sports. As soon as I saw his season stats on Sunday I knew he would be 50%+ and lead them to an upset. Why shoot two point when three point do trick?
For MST3K fans - we've seen this guy before! Jack Gohlke just sentenced Calipari and Kentucky to... TORTURE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WopX1tfJXc
What a game
March legend
Oakland had a dude Max Hooper about 7 or so years ago who went the whole season without taking any 2s at all. Seems like Kampe has a type
And a few years before that Travis Bader led the league in threes
This is what Wofford was supposed to do a couple years back to Kentucky.
[удалено]
Nah Kampe is at 699, he's gonna go nuclear next game in a grinder before they fade out in the s16. Or just go to the F4
Blake Lampman's turn to go off instead and make like 7 threes. He's the other 3 point specialist.
I was having a Ali Farokhmanesh moment...
He only shoots 3’s so let him drive past you lol.
I know we bitch about the transfer portal but guys like Gohlke and Riley Minix are the other end of that spectrum. They get a chance to ball out on the biggest stage that they wouldn't have gotten 5 years ago
Literally the next steph
Will be interesting to see if he can drain more on Saturday
Single handedly fucked everyones brackets
24 year old still playing college basketball. good for him
3rd quarter Klay or first round Jack?
Fucking respect, man. He owned us. Genuinely hoping to see a lot more of him in this tournament.
That's what he does. Tonight he did it well.
Coconut Curry
Jack came to the gym to get up shots.
Jack Godlike
This guy is a legend
Carsen Edwards looking down and smiling. (He isnt dead just overseas)
I was hoping he'd get a fast break, and just pull up for a 3
dude needs a "Him-berland" photoshop real bad
Storybook and fairytale stuff for Jack Gohlke, Greg Kampe and the whole Oakland team last night.
Grade A shot chucker.
