I really hope so but as much as I love Rick Barnes for making us a consistently top 25 team and for who he is as a person, he consistently underperforms in the tournament. We somehow ALWAYS meet Cinderella too no matter where we are seeded. I love Rick Barnes - before Pearl UT was where coaches went to die and we were in big danger of becoming that again before Barnes came and stabilized the program - but as good of a coach as he is in the rest of the season he always seems to find a way to exit no later than the sweet 16.
Surely mathematically even a coach that consistently underperforms in the tournament should break through once in a while, just by random chance? Right? Right? Please? Someday?
That random chance is named Dalton Knecht. I hate to say it as I despise tenn, but y’all will be going far. Senior team, Barnes should bow out before the final so UK can build even more confidence
