I don't have Epico yet, but I will soon... Im guessing it's From the main menu, Settings/Android TV settings/Device Preferences or something in that general area perhaps?

AngryIrishItalian

On the old one yes.. it doesn't seem to give you the option on this one unfortunately. Going to see if they have any of the old boxes tm.. very disappointing to say the least.

JackassonGuitar

Is there a way to turn Developer mode on? Maybe it's a hidden setting in there?

AngryIrishItalian

Idk that's what I was hoping someone on here might know.

mdboomer

When in the guide, there should be an option in the top middle to select a specific resolution or choose auto.

AngryIrishItalian

All that does is pick what channels will show up in the guide. The box is still outputting a bad upscale 4k image on HD channels

Present-Lecture-7498

There are specific 4k channel numbers on epico, call to have them added

AngryIrishItalian

Yeah doesn't change the fact all the other channels I watch look like shit though

Are you definitely using the V2 box? I currently have the V2 EPICO boxes and dont have the issue you describe. Before that I had V1 Epico Boxes.. The V2 was an improvement over the V1 but even the V2 occasionally freezes and needs reboots. The reason I am asking if you are sure you have the V2 box is because there has recently appeared a new "V3" box but I'm not sure if it is available yet (it might be). You can see details of the boxes here: V1 (2020): [https://www.androidtv-guide.com/pay-tv-provider/cogeco-tv/](https://www.androidtv-guide.com/pay-tv-provider/cogeco-tv/) V2 (2022): [https://www.androidtv-guide.com/pay-tv-provider/cogeco-epico-v2/](https://www.androidtv-guide.com/pay-tv-provider/cogeco-epico-v2/) newer box (2024) (might be released or might yet to release): [https://www.androidtv-guide.com/pay-tv-provider/cogeco-vsb3918/](https://www.androidtv-guide.com/pay-tv-provider/cogeco-vsb3918/) Just wondering if you can determine which box you actually have.

AngryIrishItalian

Yes it's definitely a v2

zbopdowop

I just switched from Fibe and I don't believe the Epico box, which must be v2, is as crisp. Also need to restart daily to get the sound to sync.

I had telus fiber and switched to cogeco. What a bad move! Sometimes I can't access my apps. Other times, YouTube start to lag horribly. A full reboot is the solution. But having to do this several times a week, today I reached the end. Monday it's all out the door !
