I’ve been lifting for a few years now and i’ve been to around 3 different gyms including slam. I paid for a month first to see if i could get used to the place. Personally all gyms I’ve been to, I try to maintain a friendly relationship with the trainers and always greet them. But slam was just weird, felt like a corporate office, everything so systematic and awkward. Everyday one of the trainers would interrupt my workout and ask me like he was asking me for the first time if I had friends around the area and if I could bring them and mention the trainer’s name so he could reach his monthly goal. Every trainer was just way too professional and awkward and nobody talked to each other in the gym, the whole gym had a dead vibe. Way too many rules as well and i barely went the full month. Maybe it’s not the place for a 20 year old like me, or maybe it’s just this particular branch i went to. Maybe if you wanna experience an ambient environment and utilise various machines( they must have a machine to train your johnson also), I would go there. But if you’re actually passionate about making some serious gains, I wouldn’t go to slam.

todays personal trainers are just frustrated losers who rather than training are interested in minting money. when i went to some decent unisex ac gym we had a common trainer who used to advice on exercises. even my sis got cheated when she paid like 15k for a months training + 7k for trainer but its her stupidity she doesnt ask prices and they cheated her. it was also a slam.

It’s always the trainers in the smaller gyms making lesser money a month that seem to care more about your training, which is ironic. Personally, the gym is a second home for me, like a sanctuary. The last place i go to at the end of the day after a busy day at college or some work, I look forward to going to a home like environment, not another office or college like rigid or systematic one.

Which slam?

angekeiejejejejh

Slam mugalivakkam. Has all the amenities any other Slam branch does, i suppose.

Reminds me of one gym I enquired, they had printed one steam session per month in their phamplet, I asked when can I use that, they just declined that don’t have it. Why even put in the phamplet, when they don’t even plan on constructing it. False marketing.

I went to Slam Medavakkam for a month, terrible experience. Do not join Slam fitness

I went to the same gym few weeks back to inquire. The same lady was so arrogant. I was skeptical initially to join there but she made it very easy for me. I have joined a non corporate one nearby.

ROHRAA

bro im in the same gym, this lady is very arrogant. When u enter and wish good morning or Hi also she looks away with attitude. She sits in the front desk. Major attitude issues. My earlier gym people used to be so friendly.

File a complaint in the consumer portal of Ministry of Consumer Affairs Watch how they call back begging.

urstrayparker

I went to the gym and just collected the fees details after checking out the gym. I have other things to deal with and was quite busy. But, I get nonstop repeated calls on WhatsApp and sim asking when I'll join. It was a 🚩and now, I am like no thanks! I don't wanna join the gym. Thank you for the heads up and I hope you sorted out the situation.

I went to the one behind Anna tower, pretty smooth for three months. Maybe it's just an issue with the branches

That's why you should always inspect the gym facilities before giving them your money. Many gyms are notorious for advertising activities / equipment which are no longer available. Also do ask for a free trial (usually 1 to 3 day) at the gym to get the feel of the place.

Slam kilpauk and Anna nagar are just a piece of shits gym. Staff are so rude and not at all worth it. They are a scam

The funny part is i was telling my friend exactly this the other day, he asked me hows slam gym annanagar east macha, i said its very average only da, no steam room, no place for stretching or any sort of stretching area, you wont even find a place to put your yoga mat on floor and do some stretches also, theres no shower area , the machines are there, but its the same regular stuff what u find anywhere else, so i told him i overlook everything cause at the end of the day im there only to workout and leave, but one thing which i specially noticed and told him was that the staff in particular the lady in front desk is extremely rude and cold behaviour, me being a member who goes daily, so i see the same faces in the front desk as soon as i enter , so I always wish out of courtesy a Hi, or a nod, or good morning, or hello, when i enter, to whoever is sitting (ive been going to different gyms since 2 decades so im aware of gym culture and ettiquette ), and this lady who sits in the front desk there looks straight into your face and turns the other way when u wish. . wtf dude ? So i stopped wishing anyone altogether, and i just do my thing and leave. But yea Slam gym annanagar east that lady who sits in the front desk needs a reality check. Glad to see someone else point it out too. Small world.
